Goals:
• Advance knowledge in the physical properties of the earth by developing data fusion methods for integrating data with varying accuracy and sensitivity
• Quantify assumed and measured data parameters required in the modeling process using multiple expressions of uncertainty
• Modify the modeling process to handle multiple functions of parameter uncertainty and minimize error
• Provide better evaluation of goodness of fit

Goals:
• Enhance cyber-results with provenance
• Extend provenance to include uncertainty models
• Compute levels of uncertainty from uncertainty-enhanced provenance
• Extend provenance to include trust models
• Compute trust recommendations from trust-enhanced provenance
Goals:
• Optimize data streams and sensor arrays in ecological and environmental networks by targeting improved characterization of environmental phenomena and processes
• Develop quality assurance and optimization tools for advanced static field-based instrumentation that improve characterization of environmental tipping points and stochastic events
• Develop tools for integrating voluminous data streams from movable sensor platforms
• Customize back-end tools that link, spatially extrapolate, and animate real time and archived data
