The Master’s Academy is excited to offer a variety of student camps this summer!
These camps are open to both TMA and non-TMA students. Once you have decided
which camps you would like your student to participate in, please pull out the registra-
tion form, fill it out, and return it to the school office. If you have questions regarding a
specific camp, please feel free to call the office.

Camp Eagle is a well-rounded summer day camp emphasizing Biblical principles and lots of
FUN! Returning TMA students love Camp Eagle and it is also an excellent way for new TMA
students to meet others before school begins in August.
Registration: $40.00 if registered by Friday, April 15
$65.00 beginning Monday, April 18
Registration fee includes two camp t-shirts and a backpack
Cost / Hours: $150/week - includes field trips (does not include snacks/lunches)
$10 discount for each additional child
There is a $50 non-refundable deposit due for each selected week
Payment is due each Monday
Camp hours are 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Before/after care from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. is available at an
additional cost of $15 per week per family.
Full-time campers will be given first consideration
as there are limited camp spaces.
Join Miss Shrider and other lower school art students to improve your skills and
learn new techniques while participating in projects involving clay, pastel, fiber
arts, printmaking, paper making, drawing, and painting. Maximum of 15 per class.

friends. We will learn how to make clothes, host a proper tea party, and write

sing, dance, make crafts, and end the week with a party.

Learning about computer animation and robotics is exciting and
fun! Join us this summer for one or both of the following camps.
Adventures in Digital Animation
Students will learn how to apply their artistic skills to create sophis-
ticated animations. After they master basic animation techniques
and create a storyline, they will craft their own computer-generated
animated movie. This workshop is geared toward kids who have an
interest in animation. Completed projects will be burned to DVD to
share with family and friends. No prior experience in animation is nec-
essary. Maximum of 10 participants per class.
WeDo Robotics
During the WeDo Robotics camp, students will start exploring simple robotics concepts in a fun and
easy way. Students will be engaged in hands-on technology experiments that focus on science, mathe-
matics, social studies, and language concepts. Through the use of icon-based programming software,
students quickly and easily learn how to write and download programs to their LEGO creations. No prior
experience in programming is necessary. Maximum of 10 participants per class.

This isn’t your mother’s scrapbooking club. Today’s kids have instant access to photos and cutting edge
technology to create an AH-MAZING scrapbook. Let’s create a scrapbook filled with photos and me-
mentos. Your friends will love to see this book! Everyday we will learn a new scrapbooking technique
and spend time putting that technique to work. Start thinking about a theme for your scrapbook and
gather your photos. Maximum of 10 participants.

Kindergarten, here we come! Get a head start on the amazing new discoveries that your child will ex-
perience in Kindergarten! Using fun, hands-on learning, students will engage in a variety of activities
with the emphasis on preparation for Kindergarten - activities such as reading readiness, number sense,
fine motor skills, arts & crafts, and much more! Come join us for a relaxed, fun introduction to Kinder-
garten and eliminate those first day jitters! Maximum of 10 participants per class.
Take this opportunity to improve your reading comprehension and writing skills. In this workshop, stu-
dents will have hands-on practice in learning how to write main idea sentences, discovering how to
expand original sentences, and increasing their reading compre-
hension through proven techniques. Maximum of 15 participants.

This workshop will focus on problem solving and application of general
math skills through fun, hands-on activities and math labs. We will not just
talk about math, we will use it in real life scenarios and challenging compe-
titions. The activities in these sessions will help to deepen understanding
and mastery of the top 5 concepts and skills needed for the next level of
math. This summer course will keep your child’s math skills fresh through
an entertaining and active approach to math education. Activities will in-
clude hands-on labs on estimating, fraction application, decimals in action, and geometry in real life.

Starting middle school can be nerve racking and exciting at the same time. Let’s spend a
week together talking about what to expect next year. We will cover some of the most chal-
lenging topics and situations. If you like acting, role playing, and spending time with girl-
friends, this is the camp for you. No supplies needed- purchasing Smart Girl’s Guide is optional.

Instructor: Mrs. Brenda Castaldi
Students will study the art of photography, learn to compose great photos, and dis-
cover how to edit pictures in Photoshop. They will develop technical skills as they
learn about the care and use of digital SLR cameras. Supplies needed: camera (quality
of camera will determine quality of photos and skills that can be developed), card reader or
USB cord, and USB drive or external drive to store photos taken (4 GB or more).

This is a high energy workshop for the middle school actor! We will focus on: Im-
provisation: act without a script! Learn about spontaneity and sharing control while
creating scenes and playing games that will improve your intuition. Voice: learn tech-
niques and practice exercises designed to increase your range, projection, and articula-
tion. Movement: acting is doing. Learn to get out of your head with exercises focus-
ing on how the characters you play move and physically relate to the world around
them. This week will end with a special presentation for family and friends.

Instructor: Mrs. Morgan Matos
Any high school actor who wishes to participate in the fall production must attend
this workshop. Once enrollment has been established, the play will be announced
and auditions will be held the last week of school. During this workshop, students
will receive acting, movement, and character training while beginning TMA’s fall
production. This will be a great opportunity to learn and grow together as a cast.

upper School Camps
TMA baseball camp will be directed by varsity coach, Troy Girdner, and his
staff. While a strong emphasis will be placed on game situations and execu-
tion, fundamentals of all facets of the game will be drilled daily.
The Master's Academy basketball camps offer quality instruction from
skilled coaches. Campers will participate in competitive games and
drills in an environment focused on Biblical principles of teamwork
and sportsmanship.
Campers will leave equipped to be better players. Our focus is on the
whole person: body, soul, and strength. Coaches will push campers to excel,
and encourage each camper to do their best, using the gifts God has given them.
Expect hard work, lots of fun, and a challenge to develop your talents.

Nancy McCallister - Coach McCallister will lead the co-ed and
girls basketball camps. She is currently serving as JV girls basket-
ball coach at TMA. She played forward/center at East Stroudsburg
University which is a NCAA Division II school.
Troy Girdner - Coach Girdner is TMA’s varsity baseball
coach. His love of the game began in little league, and con-
tinued through high school. In 1985, Troy began his career in
professional baseball as a right-handed pitcher. His time with
the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago White Sox organizations
brings valuable experience to TMA. He gives our students
real insight into the world of baseball after high school.

Jason Kimak - Coach Kimak cur-
rently serves as varsity boys’ soccer
coach at TMA. He played soccer for
Liberty and Tennessee Temple Uni-
versities. He holds a USSF D license,
a Nat’l Coaching Diploma, and a
Nat’l Goal Keeping certificate from the NSCAA.
Jessica Bourque - Coach Bourque just
completed her seventh season as TMA
girls’ soccer coach. She came to TMA
after a successful career at Oviedo HS
and Palm Beach Atlantic University.
Coach Bourque recently obtained her
NSCAA National Coaching Diploma.
Soccer camp is fast-paced and geared toward the technical development of each player.
Along with mechanical skill development, players will participate in games such as World
Cup and Power ’N Finesse. Camps will be directed by TMA coaches, Jason Kimak and Jes-
sica Bourque. They will be assisted by current varsity players from The Master’s Academy.
Don’t miss this chance to learn soccer, enjoy great competition, and have fun while getting
your game ready for high level play.
TMA volleyball camp is designed to develop individual fundamental skills and
team strategies. The camp will be directed by TMA varsity Coach Quynh Nguyen
(Win) who has several years of high school experience in addition to his work with
local club programs. He will be assisted by other area coaches. Sessions will em-
phasize serving, setting, spiking, and jump training as well as defensive skills.
Quynh Nguyen - Coach Nguyen is entering his 9th
season as TMA’s varsity volleyball coach. He is
heavily involved in club volleyball and specializes in
the technical development of each player’s fundamen-
tal skills.

Nicole Chessum - Coach Chessum
just completed her fifth season
coaching TMA’s varsity softball
team. She came to TMA after coach-
ing various travel ball and high
school teams in the Chicago area.
Lauren McLain - Lauren co-coaches
TMA’s varsity softball team. She gradu-
ated from Olivet Nazarene Univ. where
she was the 4-year NCCAA player of
the year, among other accolades, and
spent a year as Olivet’s pitching coach.
TMA softball camp will be directed by varsity coaches Nicole Chessum and Lauren
McLain. This camp will teach and reinforce fundamentals of the game throughout the
week, with special emphasis being placed on pitching, catching, and hitting. Game situa-
tions and execution of skills will also be covered.
TMA football camp will be directed by varsity coach Malik Sherman and his staff.
Players will be working on speed, agility, proper route running, hand/eye coordination,
and football fundamentals.
Malik Sherman - Coach Sherman has been actively involved in sports
since the age of eight. He was a former defensive back for the South Carolina Gamecocks
where they won their first ever bowl game in 1994-1995. He has trained, coached, and
consulted with various players in the NFL and beyond, coached a state championship track
and field team in South Carolina, and
achieved several civic and community
service leadership awards.

This camp is designed for girls in K5 through 8th grade and will teach them the basics of cheerleading
(cheers, stunts, tumbling and dance). The girls will learn cheers, chants, dances, stunts, tumbling, jumps,
