Thanksgiving Day has come and gone. Can
you believe the holiday season is upon us!
During the month of November, the students
and staff at the Intermediate School have
been busy not only in the classroom but with
assisting our school and community through
different projects and events.
On Nov. 7th, the Intermediate school students
and staff participated in Jeans for Troops to
assist our military veterans with housing,
health, and employment. Thanks to the gener-
osity of our Intermediate School Community,
we raised $697 for the Jeans for Troops or-
ganization.
Students and staff also participated in Jump Rope for Heart. Together,
we raised over $1000 to benefit the American
heart Association. Way to go IM Family!!!

Did you Know?
Children who regularly eat meals with their families tend to do better in school and avoid risky behavior. Eating dinner together is great, but other meals count too. If you work at night, maybe you could make time for a family breakfast. Or on the weekend, try a picnic

Tips from the Mrs. Harmon
Fourth Grade Gifted students in Mrs. Clower’s class par-
ticipated in the play, "The True Story of the Three Little
Pigs", based on the book written by Jon Scieszka. The
students learned about the format and elements of a
play, which are 4th grade standards in the ELA curricu-
lum. They applied their knowledge to this project by in-
cluding their own stage directions, props, and creating an
original background. The performance also included
reading with expression and projecting their voices as
they read from their script. Julianna Bush, Maxwell Romen, David Nunez, Junell Alvarez, Samara
Guzman, Samantha Nicdao, and Rachel Biehl acted out their parts on the stage with confidence, as
the Intermediate School Administration watched with enjoyment and praised the students on their
hard work.
The student in Mrs. Patti, Ms. Grant, Ms. Komis, and Ms.
Wilson’s classes learned about the first Thanksgiving and
worked together to recreate the Mayflower. Students
worked together in groups to design a boat that would float
and hold an estimated amount of pennies. After their ship
structure was built, each group tested their boats in a tub of
water, adding one penny at a time. The boat that held the
most pennies without sinking won! Teamwork was a must
for each group to build a successful ship and the students
enjoyed competing against each other to design an unsink-
able Mayflower.
Thanks to the Student Council Presi-
dents Mrs. Morgan and Mrs. Cooney, students and families of Penn-
sauken Intermediate made generous donations to the South Jersey
Food Bank . Volume 2, Issue 9
