• MSU model - PETE• Set biofix of first sustained seasonal

flight with pheromone traps• Calculate accumulated DD50/88F• First egg hatch is 220-250 DD 50F• 1st spray scheduled for 1st egg hatch +

a 2nd spray 10-14 days later• 2nd generation of egg hatch – 1250 DD

+ a 2nd spray 10-14 days later.

NYFVI project

• Looked at modification of PETE model with focus on seasonal trap data

• Using a recommended trap threshold of 5 moths per trap per week –

• If <7 moths per trap per week, extend insecticide residue 200-250 DD after high trap catch through 10-14 day period – 1 spray

• If >7 moths per trap per week – 2 sprays

CM Model modifications• Need to include trap information

throughout season– Note B peak that will extend egg hatch of

first generation• Under moderate populations – MSU

PETE is adequate• High populations – there is no spray

gap• Low populations – will overtreat for CM

– focus on control of other pests.
