GenerosityProverbs 11:25 A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed. Being gener-ous could men several different things, not just giving money. Many people sadly mistaken the word generosity.Have you helped your neighbor or just simply helped an elderly person pick something up he or she dropped? Whatabout opened the door for someone that had their hands full? Generosity comes in many forms. Hugging someoneis being generous with your love. Generosity is the habit of giving without expecting anything in return. It can in-volve offering time, assets or talents to aid someone in need. Often equated with charity as a virtue, generosity iswidely accepted in society as a desirable trait. In times of natural disaster, relief efforts are frequently provided, voluntarily by individuals or groups acting unilat-erally in making gifts of time, resources, goods, money, etc. Generosity is a guiding principle for many registeredcharities, foundations and non-profit organizations. Generosity can also be spending time, money, or labor for oth-ers without being rewarded in return. Remember it is always better to give than receive.Although the term generosity often goes hand-in-hand with charity, many people in the public's eye want recogni-tion for their good deeds. Donations are needed to support organizations and committees. However, generosityshould not be limited to times of great need such as natural disasters and extreme situations.Generosity is not solely based on one's economic status, but instead should include the individual's pure intentionsof looking out for society's common good and giving from the heart. Generosity should reflect the individual's pas-sion to help others.

My name is Christy Osborne-Clemmons. I am fromBoone, NC. I currently reside in Southport, NC. I’mthe Founder/Owner of Time Wisely Magazine. Thereason I chose the name “Time Wisely” is because Iused to work for a very wise man, who is a true be-liever in God named David Long. He always talkedabout how people use their time. We never really thinkabout how our time is spent and analyze what we aredoing...or at least most of us don’t. Most of us justexist. I didn’t really give too much thought about howI use my time until David talked about it during bookclub at work. He had the employees keep track of howmany hours of television we were watching. I believeon an average the number was 4 hours a day. Wow!That’s a lot of hours wasted. That’s 120 hours amonth. That’s 3 full work weeks! So, from that mo-ment forward, I tried to keep a conscious mind that Ihave a very short time here on earth and need to usemy time wisely. I want to do more than “just exist”. Iwant to make a difference and motivate people theway David Long motivated me and made a differencein my life with such great wisdom and his faith inGod. He always had the employees thinking aboutwhat we were doing and why. That brings me to why Ihave Time Wisely Magazine. I want people to thinkabout what they are doing and why. I want people toinclude God in all they do. Putting God first will onlymake things easier in life and give you a better under-standing on how to use your time. Remember Godfirst = direction in who he wants you to be. I wishyou a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

PSALM 23:THE LORD IS

MY SHEPHERD

The Lord is my shep-herd; I shall not want.2 He maketh me to liedown in green pas-tures: he leadeth mebeside the still waters.3 He restoreth my soul:he leadeth me in thepaths of righteousnessfor his name's sake. 4Yea, though I walkthrough the valley ofthe shadow of death, Iwill fear no evil: forthou art with me; thyrod and thy staff theycomfort me. 5 Thoupreparest a table beforeme in the presence ofmine enemies: thouanointest my head withoil; my cup runnethover. 6 Surely good-ness and mercy shallfollow me all the daysof my life: and I willdwell in the house ofthe Lord forever.

Jesus is Born - Luke 2:1-20 (King JamesVersion)And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decreefrom Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. (Andthis taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Naza-reth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethle-hem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) To betaxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accom-plished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her

firstborn son, and wrapped himin swaddling clothes, and laidhim in a manger; because therewas no room for them in the inn.And there were in the samecountry shepherds abiding in thefield, keeping watch over theirflock by night. And, lo, the angelof the Lord came upon them, andthe glory of the Lord shoneround about them: and they wereso afraid. And the angel saidunto them, Fear not: for, behold,I bring you good tidings of greatjoy, which shall be to all people. For unto you are born this day inthe city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Andthis shall be a sign unto you; Yeshall find the babe wrapped inswaddling clothes, lying in amanger. And suddenly there waswith the angel a multitude of theheavenly host praising God, andsaying, Glory to God in the high-est, and on earth peace, good willtoward men. And it came to pass,as the angels were gone awayfrom them into heaven, the shep-herds said one to another, Let usnow go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is cometo pass, which the Lord hathmade known unto us. And theycame with haste, and foundMary, and Joseph, and the babelying in a manger. And whenthey had seen it, they madeknown abroad the saying whichwas told them concerning thischild. And all they that heard itwondered at those things whichwere told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glo-rifying and praising God for allthe things that they had heardand seen, as it was told untothem.

In February 2010, the town of Constitution, Chile was destroyed by anearthquake. A man in the community died—along with his wife andtwo brothers—as they were trying to rescue some people that lived onan island in the middle of the river. His daughter went to live with hergrandmother, who could not afford the white sport socks she needed forher school gymnastics class. The little girl attended an OCC distribu-tion, and her shoe box gift had four pairs of white socks inside! “It wasa great opportunity to tell her that God did not leave her alone,” saidRafael, an OCC volunteer in Chile. - Samaritan's Purse

YOUR GIFTS MEAN SOMUCH! Since 1993, more than 94million boys and girls in over 130countries have experienced God’slove through your shoe box gifts, enabling local churches and ministrypartners to share the life-changingGospel of Jesus Christ—God’sgreatest gift. I know these gifts areappreciated just buy listening to K-Love the other morning. A gentle-man from Camp Lejeune called intoK-Love talking about the “shoe box”he received as a child. He lived inSiberia and was very poor. He wasone of the very thankful childrenwho was able to receive the shoebox. He got his shoe box and wasrunning home to show his parentsand fell and cut his hand on a sharprock. His hand was bleeding every-where and his items from the shoebox fell out and scattered on theground. The little boy wasn’t wor-ried about his cut hand and bloodrunning down his arm; he was soexcited he picked the items up thathad scattered when he fell and putthem back in the box and kept run-ning He was so happy to receivesuch small items. Today he carriesthat scar on his hand. It doesn’t re-mind him of the pain from the cutand all the blood, but how the shoebox meant so much to him. Keep inmind that the children receiving theshoe boxes are grateful to get a pairof socks or a candy cane. This iswhy I pick these children to helpverses the children in our country. Our children are so blessed anddon’t even realize it. Might I add,our country knows and talks aboutthe word of God and how Jesus diedfor our sins. Spread the LOVE! Thegentleman from Siberia said, “if youare thinking about filling a shoe box, fill as many as you can, the smallinexpensive presents are like gold tothose children and was to me.”Wow!

Beauty:What’s important?

Fashion is all about the unexpected, and the same rule applies formakeup trends. To get started, leave your neutral palettes behindand give your eyes a pop of colorwith this favorite eye-shadow hue:purple. From electric violet to softlavenders, purple shadows make fora bold statement that complementsevery skin tone as well as every eyecolor. Purple is also one of the fewshades that brings out the color inhazel, green, brown, and blue eyes.So highlight those beautiful eyes, neutral separates, and metallic en-sembles with an eyeful of purple.

Kanessa Hamby of Boone, NCsays Wen hair product is herfavorite . She has tried it all.“It is an easy to use, all in onecreme cleanser. No need toworry about it making yourhair oily. It’s balance.” Good-bye to shampoo and con-ditioner. According toKanessa and her friends, herhair looks and feels better thanever. She has thyroidproblems that caused her hairto fall out, but not any morethanks to Wen. Kanessa saysher hair is shinny and con-ditioned to the ends. What areyou waiting on people! Getonline and get the starterpackage for $29.95. AllowWen to make a difference foryou too.

Wait a minute. What? Yes,inner beauty. Pretty is as prettydoes. God wants beauty to bemore than skin deep. He ismore interested in what yourinner beauty is about. Unfortu-nately, the world has made it abig deal to look beautiful in theeyes of what America says isbeautiful: just skin deep. Don’tget me wrong. Outside beautyis important to help with self-esteem and self-image. Try toturn it around and put innerbeauty first and outside last. You will find yourself a hap-pier person. Beauty is in theeye of the beholder, God.

Unfortunately, we do live in asuperficial world where people dojudge on appearance. We wouldall love to say that we are not inthe majority, and that we all lookbeyond what's on the outside, butvirtually all of us are influencedby appearances. Yet, we need tokeep appearance in perspective. The Bible tells us that it isimportant to present ourselves asnicely as possible, but God doesnot call us to go to extremes. It isimportant that we remain awareof why we do the things we do tolook good. Ask yourself twoquestions: does your focus onyour appearance take your eyesoff the Lord? Are you morefocused on your weight, clothes,or makeup than you are on God?If you answered, "Yes," to eitherof the questions, then you mayneed to take a closer look at yourpriorities. The Bible tells us tolook closer at our hearts andactions rather than ourpresentation and appearance.

Proverbs 31:30 - "Charm isdeceptive, and beauty isfleeting: but a woman whofears the Lord is to bepraised."

Remember to put God first in all you do and life will be eas-ier with help from our ALMIGHTY. It is more often thannot, most of us leave God out, focused on our problem orgoal. Once you get into the habit of involving him in all youdo, you will see. Develop a relationship with God today.

Ann Wigmore says that food you eat can be the safest andmost powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poi-son. Make a conscious effort to think before you eat. Just be-cause your best friend or sister can eat certain type of badfood and it doesn't affect them, doesn’t mean the same foryou. We are all unique in what our bodies will tolerate whenit comes to food or beverages. If you are having health prob-lems, take a look at what you are eating and write it down toevaluate your eating habits. Eliminate and replace the badstuff with fruits and veggies.

This is for the men and women. Marriage istoo often taken for granted. He or she isnever yours, but always God’s. Your lovedone can be taken from you in a blink of theeye. Your wife or husband is a gift fromGod. Do you tell your loved one I love youbecause it’s routine or do you say I love youbecause you feel that way? Do you feelcloser or further apart? If you feel furtherapart, something is wrong. Do you actuallyhear your spouse when he or she is talkingor do you pretend to listen? Do you give thecomputer or a phone call from someone elsemore attention than your husband or wife?Do you go to bed at the same time or stayon the couch half the night? If you havechildren, ask yourself what you and yourspouse will do when your children leavehome. Do you base your relationship aroundyour children because the two of you don’thave a relationship? Do you give more in-sults or criticism than compliments? I amsure you have heard about team buildingskills that some of the companies have. They do it to build strong relationships anda stronger team. It works! What do you andyour loved one do to build a stronger team?If you are feeling a little emotional afterreading this, then realize things need tochange. You never know when you or theone you love will not be around anymoredue to death or just sick and tired of the waythings are. Make a change. In order forthings to change, things have to change.Don’t wait until it’s too late and live withthat regret. Through thick and thin doesn’tmean take me for granted.

Marriage isn't supposed to make you happy & sat-isfied. It's your job to make your marriage happy& satisfying. Same goes for being intimate-if youare married. It isn't supposed to make you passion-ate & "hot". It's up to you to make it passionate &"hot" & intimate. The more you invest in a marriage, the more valu-able it becomes.People spend more time learning to drive a carthan on how to be happily married and you knowhow bad some people drive .

Husbands & Wives: Never talk down to each other. When God joined you together in holy matrimony, there are no longer two people but one. You hurtyour spouse, you hurt yourself. I becomes us. Us isme. The woman was made of a rib out of the side of Ad-am; not made out of his head to top him, nor out ofhis feet to be trampled on by him, but out of his sideto be equal with him, under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be loved by himMarriage requires involving Jesus is all you do...thatincludes your marriage. How would you treat yourwife or husband if Jesus physically stood in front ofyou?

Forgiveness

Sometimes when people hurt you or do you wrong, you wantto hurt them back or not talk to them anymore. What if youstop talking to every person that has hurt you or did youwrong? How many people would you have in your life? It’ssomething to think about. I can answer that question. A bigfat ZERO. Having resentment or bad feeling towards some-one takes up space in your heart that could be used for lovingsomeone. If there is that someone that you miss and reallywant to talk to..call or email and tell them and let go. Loveagain. Letting go of resentment allows forgiveness. AllowJesus to judge. Judge not.

Mark 11:25And when you stand praying, if you hold anything againstanyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may for-give you your sins.”We are free to give like he gave. Your choice. Make the rightone.

I want to share a little, but powerfulstory with you. I took my son to thebus stop at the end of the road. Thereare normally 7 children waiting onthe bus between the ages of 5 and 10.I park off the road as much as I canfor safety reasons. The children playand run around in the morning wait-ing on the bus. There is another par-ent that is down there as well. So, wesee a truck coming and tell the chil-dren to move off the road and staystill. So, they move off the road wait-ing for the truck to pass. One of thechildren decides to make a run for itand switch sides. He kinda ran infront of the truck, but the truck wasmaybe going 2 miles per hour. So,this big man in a big truck with a bigwhite beard and hair (he looked likeSanta) stops and starts yelling at myneighbor who is standing out there. They exchanged some unfriendlywords. The “big man” threatened tocall the police on my neighbor be-cause the children were in the road.Well, truthfully the children were notin harm’s way. So, the “big man”drove off and the neighbor kicked histruck. Wow! At this point I am inshock. So, I calmed everything downand told all the children to stay awayfrom the “big man”. The children goton the bus and I went on my way towork. As I am driving, I thought tomyself....why did this “big man” flipout over nothing. I normally will getupset when people are rude for noapparent reason. So, I made the deci-sion not to be mad and put myself inthe disturbed man’s shoes. The onlything I could come up with was helost a child or a loved one due to acar hitting or running over the child.I wasn’t sure if the thought was accu-rate but, I chose to believe this iswhy he acted like a crazy man. I wasnot going to let it spoil my day. Iwent on to work and did not allowthe problem this morning to affectmy day. Later around noon, I called

my neighbor and ask him if everything was alright. He said yesand as a matter of fact he went and talked to the man about thismorning. The big man’s name is Wes and he did lose his littleboy in his front yard. A car hit him and dragged him under thecar. His little boy died and he watched it. There are two things Iam trying to say: #1 Listen to God and forgive. You have no ideawhy people act the way they do or say the things they says. For-give. #2 God works in many different ways. I am sure this wasGod’s way of keeping 1 of the 7 seven children at the bus stopfrom experiencing what his son did. Maybe not that day, butdays to come. There are many times I worry about the same witha few of the children. I was glad my neighbor was there to hearhim and hopefully remember his story. I know I will. Listen toGod and receive his messages. But, first you have to listen. OurGod is an almighty God. Please take the time and hear him. De-velop a relationship with him. He saves lives in many differentways. We are not to judge. Leave that up to Jesus.

Just Listen

CHILDREN LEARN WHAT THEY LIVEby Dorothy l. Nolte

“If children live with criticism, they learn to condemn. Ifchildren live with hostility, they learn to fight. If children live withfear, they learn to apprehensive. If children live with pity, they learnto feel sorry for themselves. If children live with ridicule, they learn tobe shy. If children live with jealousy, they learn what envy is. If chil-dren live with shame, they learn to feel guilty. If children live with tol-erance, they learn to be patient. If children live with encouragement, they learn to be confident. If children live with praise, they learn toappreciate. If children live with approval, they learn to be themselves. If children live with acceptance, they learn to find love in the world. Ifchildren live with recognition, they learn to have a goal. If childrenlive with sharing, they learn to be generous. If children live with hon-esty and fairness, they learn what truth and justice are. If childrenlive with security, they learn to have faith in themselves and in thosearound them. If children live with friendliness, they learn that theworld is a nice place in which to live. If children live with serenity, they learn to have peace of mind.

With what are your children living in?”

What Does Christmas Mean to You?

What Christmas Is All About

Christmas will always be for usA time to reflect on Christ,

The gift God gave to all the worldWas the gift of His life

We know Christmas is not about tinsel,Nor fancy Christmas wreaths,

Nor is it about all the decorationsThat adorns our Christmas trees

And it’s not about Holly or MistletoeHanging from our doors,

Nor is it about the gifts that are leftBy the jolly Santa Claus

Christmas is more than all of thisAnd the only reason why

We celebrate Christ’s birth togetherAnd the wonder of His life

So remember as you celebrate,Just what it’s all about

And invite the Lord to join with you,Instead of leaving Him out

For He will always be the reasonWe celebrate this day,

No substitute the world may offerCan take that meaning away.

Men what to buy your wife or specialwomen for Christmas can sometimes be diffi-cult. Let’s face it women, sometimes we can behard to please. I know we should all be gratefulfor anything we may receive for Christmas. Thepresent is really not the problem. The subjectmatter goes far beyond the actual gift. Womenwant the men to put thought into us and thinkabout what we want, not just get a present just tobe getting a present. I am sure all year yourloved one has said things like, “I wish I had thisor that and oh, look at that, honey what do youthink about this, maybe one day I will have this,or will you buy me this.” Sometimes it is spelledout for you guys. We want you to hear us espe-cially when it comes to buying something. Eventhough it’s a proven fact that women talk morethan men. Truly, it’s not all just talking to betalking. Please listen. Remember men what youthink may look nice or be nice to you, she maynot think so.

Let’s get down to business. Most women likesomething comfy to sleep in (check out what shewears in full detail: sleeves no sleeves, gown, shorts tank top, long sleeves and pajama pants, what kind of material cotton, silk, satin), fancykitchen gadget (if she enjoys cooking), jewelry(does she like bold or subtle and what kind ofstone or no stone and gold or silver). The bestway to really get it right is to look in her jewelrybox or closet and check. Women feel like thehusband or significant other should alreadyknow all this stuff. Some more great ideas aremaybe some boots and matching purse. Makesure it’s the right color and material. Oh yeahand the right size. Go to her closet and makesure you literally take notes. Gift cards are goodtoo, as long as there is an actual present to openalong with it.

The only way you can go wrong is if you don’tinvestigate and write it down. For the men who

What to Buy Your Wife or Significant Other?

Yes it’s the thought that counts, BUT put some thought in it.

are already good at making your significant otherhappy and paying attention to details, kudos to you!

A personalized Christmas present can show a lot oftime, effort and thought that has gone into the gift.Personalized Christmas gifts can range from the home-made gifts such as a compiled photo album that in-cludes photos of family, friends and special places. Orif you have a special skill such as painting or wood-work, handcrafted items can show you have taken a lotof trouble. Commercially bought gifts such as spe-cially named mugs, engraved jewelry, personalizedcards and many more ideas, are all readily availableand all of which can be researched or bought online.

Pray for her. Spend some time during your day pray-ing for your wife, and then tell her that you did, oreven better, pray with her. Ask her if she’ll spend afew moments praying with you. There is NO time in amarriage that you will feel more oneness and intimacythan when praying with your wife.

WOMEN never expect your man to read your mind orto know what’s wrong with you or what you want. La-dies, I’ve said it once and I’ll say it a million moretimes, you CANNOT connect the dots close enoughfor men to catch on to what you are thinking. Just spellit out. Dropping hints or just expecting your husbandto know what you’re thinking will only lead to MOREfrustration. Simply tell him what’s on your mind andwhat your want for Christmas. This is not a test.

After melting the Almond Bark for90 seconds, I used a spoon to helpcover the cookies when I dippedthem. The spoon helped to getthem on the foil too, since I didn'twant fingerprints. I didn't put theTic Tacs or the M&Ms on until I fin-ished dipping all of them - I wantedthe Almond Bark to set a little bit.As for the icing, I just squirtedsome in a ziploc bag and cut the tipjust a tiny, tiny bit.
