Time Management Strategies - How To Be The Most Productive By Managing Your Time Effectively Recently I had to wait almost twenty-four hours in an airport before I could catch my flight. This happened in Europe and I live in the United States, so the wait was much more stressful I decided to make good use of my time while I was waiting. You can manage your time well if you understand the basic principles behind the concept of time management. I'll share some of them with you here. Know that everyone has the same number of hours in a day and that it's up to you to make the best of them. I had no idea how long I was going to be stuck in the airport, so I just went about my business as though I was at home on my regular schedule. First, I made a list of what I wanted to accomplish during the next five hours. That's typically how I plan at home, even though it will not take me all five hours to get through my list. I figured that it would take me much longer to work through my activities and tasks because I was under duress. A relaxed mind is much more productive. In order to relax, I closed my eyes and imagined that everything was moving forward smoothly, and that I'd soon be home and back to my regular routine. I also took some deep breaths, visualizing the ocean and imagining the wave washing up on the sand. Actually I did this several times, making it much easier to focus on the work I wanted to do. A sense of structure and organization is also important. Even though I had limited space, I set up a makeshift office on the floor where I was waiting. As I spread out my notebook and a few other things I noticed other people around me doing the same thing. Perhaps they realized that we might be waiting for many
