Before the game begins the players are in the locker room where they can’t be seen by the fans. They copy plays onto their wrist bands while mentally and physically preparing for the game.

The officials are on the field getting ready to officiate. Everyone is getting ready to start the game.

MITOSISInterphase

Before mitosis can begin, the chromosomes are in the nucleolus, where they can't be seen. They begin to make copies of themselves. The cell is getting ready for mitosis to begin.

TIGERSStage 1: Players Announced

The Tigers burst out of the locker room and don’t

return again until later. The players gather

together as their names are announced and they

run out of the tunnel into the light. This is the first time they are seen by the fans. The officials

move off to the sides of the field to clear the way for

the players.

MITOSISStage 1: Prophase

The chromosomes burst out of the nucleolus, and the nucleolus disappears. The chromosomes becomes visible. Centrioles begin moving to opposite ends of the cell.

TIGERSStage 2 Players meet together

Players separate and spread out. The offensive players gather together and the defensive players gather together and begin practicing some plays.

The players are moving and warming up.

The nuclear membrane dissolves. Proteins attach to the centromeres creating the kinetochores. Microtubules attach at the kinetochores and the chromosomes begin moving.

TIGERSStage 5: Telophone Family

The players go to their separate locker rooms

where they become invisible again to the fans.

The Tigers telephone their families to say they

won and will be home soon. The game is over and the

two teams go their own ways. They play another team next

week and it starts all over again.
