Tiger’s Den ‘Bandhavgarh’BandhBandhavgarh, once a hunting reserve of the royal family of Rewa, was declared a National Park in 1968. Situated at 197 km north-east of Jabalpur, deriving its name from an ancient fort in the area. Needless to say, Bandhavgarh National Park is the best place to view tigers in the wild. But apart from that, here you could also bump into a host of other animals including as many species of deer such as Chital, Sambar and Barking deer, sloth bear, leopard, Indian bison and jackals, along with hundreds of types of birds including Egyptian vulture. The undergrowth is not as dense as in some northern terai forests and chancechance of spotting wildlife is very high, the best time to see the park inhabitants is in the summer months when water becomes scarce and the undergrowth dies down. Imagine yourself in an open Gypsy, slowly and silently cruising along a dense forest trail, listening to the alarm calls of a Langur warning the presence of a Tiger. You feel a tingling sensation in the nape of your neck as the forest floor quietens, and you capture through the early morning light, a faint image of yellow and black stripes crossing the trail ahead. You move on, as the rays of the sun make an array of magical shapes through the trees and acand across the forest floor, capturing some memorable frames while soaking in nature at its wildest best.

Getting There

Tour begins & ends at Bandhavgarh, There are several trains connecting Umaria & Katni from rest of India. Jabalpur is the closest airport. We shall be happy to guide you in make travel arrangements.

Tour LeaderAnup Kanodia AnuAnup’s tryst with wildlife photography started in 1997 when he first visited Bandhavgarh national park. Ever since he has been returning more than 2-3 times each year and has developed a good rapport with the locals and a better understanding of the park. Anup has ororganised photography workshops for the park guides and safari drivers such that they not only develop a better understanding of their customer's requirements but also capture the unique photographic opportunities they encounter everyday. He has also supporsupported cattle compensation claims of many local villagers in his effort to mitigate man animal conflict in the peripheries of this park.
