Marana High School Tiger Beat December 8, 2014 Vol. 1 Issue 20

We had some exciting competition this week with our winter sports in full swing. Our lady Tigers

took on challenging competitors and gave them the 3C's competitiveness on the field and court.

The ladies fought until the end but came up a little short. The lady Tiger basketball team did show

great success with wins against Pusch Ridge and Nogales. They have been very exciting

games....come out and watch!

In Tiger basketball and soccer, our boys continue to put forth their 3C's nature and show

tremendous improvement with each game. These young men continue to work hard and show

great gains in their Culture, Commitment, and Competitiveness which is resulting in some very

close games.....much different than years before. Come out and support our Tigers on the field and

court...the games are exciting to watch!

Wrestling "Tiger Style" was present this week at their multi-dual and the tournaments the teams

had this week. We have some real competition and our young men and lady Tigers are doing

tremendously well. At the Gerry Benson Varsity tournament, our Tigers placed well and showed

their commitment to their team by supporting their fellow team mates until the finals at 7:00 pm

Saturday evening. The Tigers fell short of a team award but seven individual awards were

earned. Congratulations to Devin Easby 1st place, Matthew Lorefice 6th, David Tilley 1st, Trenton

Jones 2nd, Travis Howard 1st, and Storm Downing 6th. Travis Howard was also

nominated "Wrestler of Middle Weights" for the entire tournament....Congratulations!

Your support and interest is always appreciated. Our Tigers can always use your positive cheers

in the stand. We hope to see you into the Tiger Pride Stadium and Gym.

Honored to be the AD,

Monika Montiel Turner
