Dear Potential Sponsor,
Thank you for your interest in sponsoring The Harvard Undergraduate Research Journal . We
are proud to offer a publication that showcases the work of the brightest up and comingminds in the United States. As one of the most selective schools in the world, Harvard Collegeconsistently recruits the most talented and promising future scientists, mathematicians, socialscientists, and economists.
Each year, thousands of Harvard undergraduates undertake research projects in laboratories, clinics, in the field, with professors, top researchers, and research institutions. They foray intofields ranging from microfluidics to the mathematical theory of voting, dedicating time, en-ergy, and creativity to their intellectual pursuits. Our goal is to expose the world to their work and to showcase the discoveries happening everyday on Harvard’s campus.
The authors featured in this journal go through a competitive review process in which theirwork is judged and fine-tuned by world-class researchers. Their work is undertaken in Har-vard-affiliated centers all around the world. The work published in this journal often becomesthe basis for larger intellectual undertakings and authors go on to top-grade graduate pro-grams and professional careers.
We hope that you view your sponsorship of this journal as a sponsorship of intellectual pur-suits. Your sponsorship could help establish the foundations for fruitful and prolific careers.
We look forward to speaking with you and together helping some of the nation’s brightestsee their work in print— perhaps for the very first time. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or suggestions— we are always looking for new ideas and truly ap-preciate your interest.

The Harvard Undergraduate Re- search Journal is fresh, creative andcutting-edge. Our staff covers thelatest ground-breaking scientific de-
velopments of the world, and wespotlight the top research manu-scripts from Harvard undergradu-ates in both the natural and socialsciences. We are respected and rec-ognized by Harvard students andfaculty alike.
Founded in 2007, The Harvard Undergraduate Research Journal is Harvard’s sole un-
dergraduate research journal. We publish peer-reviewed scientific literature from allscientific and social science disciplines, providing a forum in which sharing of knowl-edge can take place. In addition, we publish feature articles, op-eds and researchrelated news articles. We are currently developing an exciting blog that will be ableto foster scientific discussion in real-time on Harvard’s campus every day.Issuance — THURJ is published bi-annually in the fall and in the spring and is dis-tributed to every single undergraduate on Harvard’s campus as well as tohundreds of departments, faculty, and affiliated institutions.
Our peer review process, during which the submitted manuscripts are rigorously re-viewed by the same standards as used by the New England Journal of Medicine, iscentral to THURJ’s mission. Our peer-review procedure stimulates faculty-studentcollaboration across the university, in addition to promoting collaboration among theCollege and Harvard’s postgraduate schools. Our undergraduate reviewers continueworking with Harvard professors after first-round reviews throughout the entireprocess to further narrow-down and eventually select the content for publication.
