INT. LOUNGE - EVENING
DANIEL andSOPHIEsat in the lounge, sprawled on the sofa with cups of tea, both dressed in
comfy clothing. Both are watching the TV and both have their phones by their side. DANIEL
is eating a bag of crisps and SOPHIEis sat staring at her phone.
SOPHIEs phone gets a text, she looks at it.
DANIEL
Will you pleaseswitch that damn phone off?
Just for a little while? Its been going off all
night, its driving me insane. Who is it anyway?
SOPHIE, only half paying attention, glances up at DANIEL for a second.
SOPHIE
Uh, yeah, one sec, I just need to sort this out.
DANIEL
Sort what out? I still dont even know who it is.
SOPHIE
It doesnt matter, hes nobody.
(Mutters)
A sick, twisted, nobody.
DANIEL
This is getting stupid now, you've been getting
loads of texts. Who is this guy?
SOPHIE
My ex. Hes just, bothering me. Dont worry
about it, Ill sort it okay?
DANIEL
How come you havent mentioned himbefore? If hes bothering you, just block
him...
SOPHIEturns her phone off and throws it down next to her on the sofa.
SOPHIE
Because hes not worth my breath. Hes every
shade of wrong. I dont even know him
anymore and if Im honest, Im glad. Can we
please change the subject? I dont want totalk about it any more.

INT./EXT. HOUSE/RO D D Y
SOPHIE
is at home, grabbing her bag and coat, etc. She gets a text and takes her phone out
as she leaves the house and locks the door. She reads the text and sighs quite heavily. As she
starts walking, she decides to make a phone call.
SOPHIE
Hey Alison, just had another message off that
creep. He won't leave me alone and it's really
starting to get to me. Are you free for lunch?
(Pause.)
Yeah, I'll meet you at (cafe) in about 20
minutes if you can.(Pause.)
Thanks. I just... I need to get my mind off it,
y'know?
(Pause.)
Yeah, maybe we could talk about wedding
plans?
(Pauseandshelaughs.)
Yeah, I always have the folder with me these
days. See you in a few!
SOPHIEhangs up and puts her phone in her bag. Behind her, keeping pace (but not obviously
and out of focus) is M NSON he is texting and she receives the message, taking her phone
out again as he puts his in his pocket. Under her breath, she mutters to just leave her alone
and slams her phone back in, making a frustrated gesture.
INT. C F D Y
SOPHIE
walks in, glances around and seesLISON
isn't there, so takes a seat and sends a textto LISONsaying she's there and sat to whichever side she's on.
She gets a text from Mr. Obsessed saying I l ike what you're wearing today. I recommend
the Caesar salad its great here and will help you fit into that wedding dress.
S R Hreads the text and deletes it, (we see this over her shoulder), pauses and then gets
the wedding file out, starting to flick through. The W ITRESScomes over and SOPHIEasks for
a glass of water explaining she'll order when her friend arrives. It's not long before LISON
comes, they greet each other and she sits.

You doing okay?
LISON
Same old, just got a new show come in, so
had to change all the posters at work today.
How about you? You sounded a little
shaken...
SOPHIE
I'm fine, really. Just turns out today's a double
burger and chips kinda day.
They both laugh a little and LISONgrabs a menu, choosing quickly.
LISON
It looks like I'll go for a Caesar salad. I want tofit into my bridesmaid dress after all! Hint
hint.
SOPHIE
(Briefmomentofpanicatthementionof

Alright, alright. Anyone'd think this was your
wedding not mine. I was thinking that we go
with
She's cut off by her phone going off. She looks at it and it's a call from Mr Obsessed. She
hangs it up, turns her phone off and slams it down. LISONlooks at her worriedly, SOPHIE
just looks back (clearly distraught/exasperated).
SOPHIE
I need to add a milkshake and banana split to
my order
INT. OFFICE - DAY
DANIEL, MANSON andCARL are all sat at their desks. CARLis sat quietly, in the background,
working at the computer but glancing around to his co-workers occasionally. MANSONis
talking to DANIEL.
MANSON looks across toCARLto see if he is busy. CARLis unaware, typing. MANSONthen
looks back at DANIEL and sparks up a conversation.

So, Daniel. I heard you and Sarah are
engaged?! Thats
(Pausesforafractionlongerthanheshould)
great news.
DANIEL looks up from his work at MANSON.
DANIEL
Yeah, I proposed a month or so ago. Shes so
excited, I am too of course, but shes enjoying
the shopping involved.
MANSON
(Laughsslightly,thenquietlysays;)
Yeah, that doesnt surprise me in the
slightest Dresses Im guessing?
DANIEL
Women, eh? I love her though. I really do.
Sometimes, I dont think she realises just how
lucky I feel to have her. She's not had much
luck so far and she really deserves something
nice, so I try to spoil her rotten where I can.
MANSON
Not everyone deserves to be happy. Don't getme wrong, some people do, just not
everyone.
(Quietlyandwithgreatpain.)
I was happy with my love, once Loss can
change a person.
DANIEL
Dont worry pal, youll find someone else
someday.
MANSONshifts uncomfortably in his seat, CARLglances up and notices, then observes
MANSONs behaviour.
MANSON
Is Sarah at home now then? You know, whilst
youre here, paying for this wedding.
DANIEL
Whats the time now?
DANIELlooks at his watch and looks back to his screen.

DANIEL
Yeah, probably. She will have just got back
from the gym.
MANSON
I think Ive seen her around before; KY gym
isnt it?
DANIEL
Yeah, Im going to meet her there today.I
dont usually but shes so excited for me to
see the test shots the photographer took,
shes asked me to meet her there on the way
home.
MANSON
Whos your photographer? Anyone Id know?
DANIEL
You know many wedding photographers?
(Laughsandthenoffersananswer.)
Jim Cardvhall?
MANSONshrugs, unknowing of the name.
INT. OFFICE
DAY
DANIEL, CARLand MANSONare all wearing different clothes, it is the following day in the
office. DANIELand CARLare picking up their belongings and making their way out of the
office.
DANIEL
Thank God its time to clock off. I've got so
much to get on with!
CARL
Let me guess, wedding arrangements?
DANIEL
Yup, time to look at venues!
MANSONlooks up at the two talking in the background as he is getting his things together
more slowly.
DANIEL CONT.)

Im looking at a couple today that Sophie's
already seen and wants me to check. Y'know,
see what I think of 'em. I'd best get on with it -
wanna keep the missus happy for when she's
the missus by law!
MANSONs eyes widen a little, as DANIELand CARLexit. MANSONlooks at his phone and
scrolls down his contacts, pausing on SOPHIE. There is no photo. He clearly has a thought,
pauses and then puts his belongings back at his desk. He sits and pulls a calendar out of a
drawer (locked if possible)it has Sophie's entire schedule on it. He checks where she will
be at the moment, then grabs his keys and a chewing gum wrapper falls out. He doesn't
notice and leaves.
INT. GYM
DAY
MANSONis stood with a camera in his hand by the entrance of the gym with a dark hoodie
on. He starts to take photos of SOPHIEwhilst she is on a treadmill in the background.
(Camera POV and we see him taking pictures of Sophie). EMPLOYEEapproaches him.
EMPLOYEE
Excuse me, sir, but you're not allowed to take
pictures here.
MANSON (Withauthority,nopanic.)
I really wish places would tell the workers
when I'm coming in. Look, I'm a photographer
and I've been asked to come in and get some
promotional shots.
EMPLOYEE
Could you come with me so I can check with
my manager, please?
MANSON
(Sighsheavilyandpullsoutapass-card.Shotofthecard[underthenameofJim ardvhall])
They've already okayed it. In fact, here, have a
look at some of the shots.

She's my model for the shoot, I'll only be
another 5 minutes and then I'll be out of your
hair, okay?

Urm... Alright. Well, I should still check with
the manager.
MANSON
Yeah, sure. Thats all good with me.
EMPLOYEEheads off to the office and MANSONtakes a couple more pictures and then
wanders off before the employee returns.
INT. KITCHEN - DAY
SOPHIEgets home with the shopping, dumps the bags on the counter. (She is wearing grey
leggings, a white top and black underwear) She puts her phone and keys next to the bags
and picks up the post she brought in with her. She stands near the kitchen doorway andlooks through the letters. She starts singing to herself.
EXT. DOORSTEP - DAY
MANSON's footsteps approach the front door, big black boots come to a stop at the
doorstep. The door very quietly opens, all we see is the corner of the door and his first
footstep in.
INT. HALLWAY - DAY
Camera is situated behind MANSON. We see his dark shadow, he is dressed in black and
wearing a balaclava. He has a black backpack on. He steps into the house quietly whilst
SOPHIEis singing in the distance of the kitchen. MANSONis holding a rolled up bath mat, we
do not see this yet though, it is being held in front of him.
MANSONquietly steps into the house. We see him step towards the mirror. He looks intothe mirror, just as his reflection is about to come into shot, we have a close up of just his
eyes and heavy breathing. We then cut to his reflection. MANSONis wearing a balaclava
with fake teeth glued around the mouth manically. In the shot, we see the top of the rolled
up bathmat but think nothing much of it.
We then cut to a view down the hallway, and see SOPHIE, still singing and reading a letter.
Fa de to black.

INT. KITCHEN - DAY
Fades from black.
SOPHIEhears a footstep, she glances straight up to the camera and her face drops in shock.
She throws the letters on the floor and runs for the back door. She slams against it, trying to
open it but it's locked.
Shot from MANSONs POV, hes in the kitchen doorway, advancing menacingly, very slowly
though. We see SOPHIEspin around and knock the shopping off of the table in her haste to
grab her phone, she picks it up and frantically presses the on/off button. She sighs and gives
up. (This is all one, establishing shot from over MANSONs shoulder to give a sense of his
calmness juxtaposed to her frantic panic.)
Shot of MANSON, head to toe in black, the balaclava with the teeth, and a horrifying grinacross his face. He is clutching the bath mat, he unrolls it, staring atSOPHIEwith evil in his
eyes and the grin frozen.
SOPHIEgrabs a knife and charges to try to get past MANSON. MANSON, in one fell swoop,
wraps the knife in the bath mat and pulls it from her grip
Fades to black.
INT. BATHROOM - EVENING
Fades from black.
MANSONis stood over SOPHIE on the floor. MANSONstarts to fill the bath with the taps on
full. SOPHIEis fully clothed, in a pile on the floor, her hands tied behind her with coarse
rope, her ankles tied together and her mouth taped. SOPHIEs eyes dart, looking for a way
out, she squirms and twitches next to MANSONs clumpy black boots.
MANSONgrabs his rucksack. Each item is laid out to one side of the bath. The rope, scissorsand gaffer-tape are already laid there, he adds a tarpaulin to the spread.
SOPHIEis stil l struggling next to MANSONs feet, getting a l ittle breathless now.
Fades to black.
INT. BATHROOM
EVENING
Fades from black.

SOPHIEis in the bath with her knees up to her chest, fully clothed but with the water level
about halfway. She thrashes about. MANSONchuckles to himself a l ittle and walks out the
door.
Fades to black.
INT. BATHROOM
NIGHT
Fades from black.
SOPHIEis alone in the bathroom, she takes her chance and manages to struggle to her
knees facing away from the door - still in the bath.
MANSONis there behind her. He grabs her ankles and pulls them behind her making her fall
forward, she struggles and twists so that she manages to get onto her back although this
traps her arms. Whilst SOPHIEis struggling, MANSONis unfolding the large blue tarpaulin.
He lays it over the bath. (Shot of MANSONs hand grabbing the tape) MANSONstarts to
strap the tarpaulin down over the bath with the gaffer-tape.
Fast paced cuts of MANSONtaping the tarpaulin down, the teeth, the tarpaulin being
pushed from underneath, MANSONs eyes
MANSONs phone vibrates repeatedly by the sink, an alarm flashing- get out.
Cuts to black.
INT. M NSONS BEDROOM
- MORNING
MANSONjolts upright. He is laid in bed, his alarm going off which merged from the
vibrations of his phone in the dream. He instantly looks at a framed photo next to his bed- a
portrait of SOPHIElooking younger (long hair maybe?). Next to it is a set of prints of her atthe gym. MANSONgrabs a photo, hits the alarm button and jumps out of bed to get ready
for work.
INT. OFFICE
DAY
DANIELand CARLare sat at their desks, MANSONwalks towards the door and stops at CARL
on the way out.
MANSON

Im off now.
CARL
Oh, okay. Where are you off to?
MANSONpulls his keys out of his pocket and the photo of SOPHIEdrops by CARLs foot, face
down. MANSONdoesnt notice and neither does CARL.
MANSON
Im clocking off early, I have some
(Mansonlooksatthedoorwayandpauses)
things to do.
DANIELis in the background, looking for something on his desk.
CARL Okay then, Ill see you tomorrow.
MANSON
(Pauses)
Yeah, should do.
DANIEL walks over to CARLas MANSONwalks out the office, oblivious to MANSONwho is
blanking him.
DANIEL
Carl, do you have a stapler? I cant seem to
find mine anywhere
CARL
Yeah.
(Startssearchinghisdesk)
Have you noticed how weird Mansons been
lately?
DANIEL
Um, no, not really. What do you mean?
CARL
(Stillsearching)
Well, he left early today, in case you've not
noticed, and dodged an answer when I asked
why. Hes just been acting strange, is all.
CARLspots the photo and picks it up as he is searching. He looks at it, then carries on
searching whilst he holds it out for DANIELto take.

CARL CONT.
You dropped this, mate.
DANIELtakes the photo and we cut to his eyes. We see the realisation as CARLis still talking.
CARL CONT.
Havent you noticed how interested he is in
everything? He must've brought up the
wedding more than me and you combined!
(Chuckles)
I dont know, he just seems to be...
DANIELinterrupts.
DANIEL
(Sounding panicked)Where did he say hes going?
CARL
He didnt. That'smy point.
DANIEL grabs his keys and leaves everything else as he runs out the office door, saying as he
does:
DANIEL
Ive got to go.
CARL holds up a stapler casually, not even realising how panicked DANIELwas.
EXT. DOORSTEP - DAY
The same shot as before- MANSON's footsteps approach the front door, big black boots
