CLEVELAND HEIGHTS
Cleveland Heights will go for a seventh straight victory and attempt to remain on
top of the LEL in a matchup vs. Warrensville Heights on Oct. 18.
First-year coach Romie Graham leads Warrensville, which is struggling at 1-6. On
the field, the Tigers graduated a standout quarterback in Devyn Byers and big-
play receiver in Walsh University recruit Jayvion Williams.
Jerome Lee is back at running back and in the secondary for his senior year. All-
Ohio cornerback DeAngelo Bell and slotback Desmond Horne are impact players.
Bell had nine interceptions last season.
Cleveland Heights (6-1) hasn't lost since Week 1 and is getting better on both
sides of the ball. Justin Wodtly is a Division I recruit that makes an impact every
snap he's on the field. Quarterback Bay Harvey is a big-time dual threat and Elijah
Fowlkes has been solid in the run game.
Defensively, Diego Bremer and Jiovanny Holmes have been standouts for the
Tigers.

NEW HEAD COACH FOR THE TIGERS
In January, the Warrensville Heights School Board
approved the hiring of Romie Graham as the new football
coach.
Graham spent the previous three seasons as an assistant
at Garfield Heights, a school that will enter the LEL next
season. Graham is from Lakeland , Fla. but played
receiver collegiately at Muskingum College and coached at
Otterbein and Allegheny before landing in Northeast Ohio.
The 31-year-old said his college recruitment brought him
north and this region has become his home.

A powerful running attack and a swarming defensive
effort that created three safeties sparked Cleveland
Heights to a 39-6 win over visiting Bedford on Oct.
11.
Quarterback Bay Harvey ran for two TDs, Elijah
Fowlkes, Justin Wodtly and freshman Owen Bisker
each added touchdowns and the defense scored 6
points on a trio of safeties as the Tigers won their
sixth straight game.
“Defensively we are getting back to playing football
the right way by not making mental errors. It was
good to get some of our young guys some playing
time on Friday night which could be beneficial if we
qualify for post season play,” Heights coach Mac
Stephens said.
“Offensively, Elijah Fowlkes and Bay Harvey were
outstanding in the run game. We were able to
establish the run by being physical up front with
great play from left tackle Cullen Martin and right
guard Cornell Gideon.”
Heights jumped out to a 24-0 halftime lead and
cruised to victory.
Heights improved to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in the LEL.
The Tigers haven’t lost since Week 1.
During the winning streak, Harvey has gotten better
every game and is a dangerous dual-threat at
quarterback. However, Stephens pointed out an
underrated part of his game.
“I think something that goes unnoticed is Bay
Harvey’s ability to kick the ball out of the end zone
on kickoffs which is key to maintaining field
advantage throughout the game,” Stephens said.

Expansion in the Lake Erie LeagueGarfield Heights and Shaker Heights will join an expanding Lake Erie League over the next 12-month period.
Shaker Heights Red Raiders will exit the Greater Cleveland Conference and join the LEL beginning in August 2020. Garfield Heights
rejoins the LEL after leaving the league more than a decade ago. The Bulldogs have played most recently as an independent, and will
join the new 8-team LEL halfway through the 2019-2020 school year.
Both Garfield Heights and Shaker Heights were previously LEL members, with Garfield departing in 2007 and Shaker in 2012. Both
joined the Northeast Ohio Conference, which disbanded by 2015 with eight of those members forming the GCC.
