THIS WEEK AT CHRIST CHURCH Sunday June 2, 2013—The Second Sunday after Pentecost

Our Parish Work Day Is Today!

Bring your work-gloves, hammers, electric/cordless drills, rakes, and tool-boxes! We will have a work-party today (Sunday

June 2) following the 10 a.m. service. Some of the work day projects will be: oiling all the teak benches, power washing the Patio, washing windows in the Parish Hall, dusting for cobwebs, and cleaning kitchen cabinets.

This wonderful collaboration of a concert of contemporary music benefiting My New Red Shoes will not only be a delightful summer event but will assist in providing Bay Area homeless and very low income children with brand new shoes and clothes for the first day of school. My New Red Shoes is a non-profit founded in Menlo Park by Heather Hopkins that helps homeless and low-income children look and feel confident as they start the school year. It provides them with new clothing and shoes while rallying youth and adults through volunteer and educational opportunities for individuals, families, schools, corporations, and community groups. Join the 50 Campaign! 50 Families to Pledge $500 This Summer

Thank you and God bless you for the many ways you support Christ Church with your time and talents. We have achieved 90% of our 2013 pledge income goal, but need to close the gap in order to achieve a balanced budget this year. Your generosity helps to enable all the amazing ways our Church carries out God’s work in the world, including our small but talented staff who provide pastoral care, inspiring liturgy and music, adult and children’s education, and a wonderful place of prayer and worship.

You should have received an email (or letter) this past week inviting you to donate $500, or whatever you can afford, to help close our budget gap and enable our ministries to continue to thrive. Please prayerfully consider what you might be able to offer, and THANK YOU!

As of May 31, we have received 14 gifts toward our goal of 50, totaling $5,610.

Thank you for your generosity!
