This presentation examines the role of the Tech Team as the hub of ICT integration in the school. Who should be on the Tech Team and what does the Tech Team do? The Tech Team is essential in ensuring winning conditions are in place to facilitate the integration of ICT for life-long learning.

Disseminate ICT related information
Organize a school web site
Take a hardware inventory (I.e. computer type, serial numbers and location)
Take a software inventory
Know where all the software is located - preferably in a locker to which the tech team has a key
Create a signup sheet for the peripherals and software to keep track of their location at all times

Make sure that the AUP is properly disseminated in your school - meet with the
staff
Keep a record of the “Consent Forms” signed
Make sure everyone is aware of Netiquette and Netcitation

Show them the basics - I.e., how to: shutdown properly, restart after a freeze, change the ink cartridge for the printer etc…
If your school has a server - know how to reboot it and do some minor troubleshooting

Have a representative of the tech team be in charge of meeting with the technician upon school visits
Email the technician in advance with a list of prioritized items to be fixed in the school
Inform the staff of this procedure so they that can alert the tech team rep of tech problems in their class

listserv for the school board)
Pass any information you get from your RECIT on to your staff - For example:Full Speed Ahead - a monthly electronic bulletin
