We were honored by the presence of Founding Members: Cecile (Cissy) Hedding (our courts First Regent), Patricia (Patsy) Kelly, Mildred (Millie) Warden and families of Geneva (Effie) Sulek, Shirley Burzynski & Nelwyn LeBlanc. Other honored guests were Rebecca (Becky) Brown, CDA Texas First Vice State Regent, Pat Koteras, District Deputy for District #19. Everyone was greeted by Kathy Fisher & Margie Buchala before entering the beautifully decorated main dinning room; with special help from Kim Chavez, Marimar Mackey and her entire committee. The hand-made quilt raffle table was attended by Jeanette Bruegging & Jo Anne Fagan who were also selling raffle tickets. Photographer, Melanie Barfuss, took photos of all our guests as they entered. Adjacent to the photo stop was the Memorial Table of our deceased members; a loving tribute to the women of our past. Charter members were highlighted with a handmade purple rose and Silver Star. Moving across the room adjacent to the wine bar, were the decorated scrapbook tables. On the large, drop down screens; our recent court history was on review with music. Rose Jordan led us in “America the Beautiful” and Mistress of Ceremonies, Paula Sposato did a fantastic job. Congratulations to our 5 Scholarship Recipients: Jacob Krus, Abigail McGee, Logan Allen, Noah Davis & Jenna Rodriguez and their families. After award pins and certificates were presented, the court officers handed each member a hand-made purple rosary. Thank you Linda Towne, who gave a special recognition presentation to Georgia Popp. Thanks to the Sebesta family who represented St. Jerome School and served our guests who needed assistance getting their drinks and food; wearing the aprons provided by Susan Graul. Dinner was served by Weatherly Caterering and our 50th anniversary cake was made by Chris Hablizel, who along with her daughter Jackie Hollkamp served all the guests. It was an extraordinarily beautiful evening. Thanks again to all of those who worked so hard to make our 50th celebration possible. Reflections of An Evening To Remember

Celebration of our 50th Anniversary was worthy of the history of our court.

Thanks again to all of those who worked so hard

Prayer Corner

Watch, O Lord, with those who wake, or watch or weep

tonight, and give your angels charge over those who sleep.

Tend your sick ones, O Lord Christ. Rest your weary

ones. Bless your dying ones. Soothe your suffering ones.

Pity your afflicted ones. Shield your joyous ones and for

all your love's sake. Amen. Saint Augustine

Reaching Out to One Another

I received a lovely note from a Sister in Christ thanking me for a gift I had given her many years ago. She happened upon it while dusting and it brought joy to her heart, so she reached out to me to say thank you again. That simple reaching out to me brought such joy to my heart. It started me thinking: How many opportunities do I have to reach out to others? I’m going to give you a challenge this summer & hopefully, get you to thinking, too! Take the time to reach out to a woman friend or acquaintance & invite her to our next CDA Meeting in September. Are there women at Mass that you see every week & acknowledge with a nod and a wave? Step out in faith, with a welcoming gesture and invite them to come and see what CDA is all about. Ask the Lord to place someone on your heart that you could invite. Plant that seed, let the Lord water it & through your invitation, you might just make someone’s heart fill with joy & feel included; then stand back and watch our Court grow!
