Christ the King
The book of Daniel describes why we are celebrating this feast of Christ the King, and how God and His kingdom would triumph in the end. God would establish a kingdom that would be everlasting. Prophet Daniel prophesied that God’s Kingdom would be ruled by one who is described as “like a son of man.” God would give this “son of man” dominion, glory, and kinship. Jesus claimed himself to be this “Son of Man” meaning, He is the King, whom Daniel had prophesied. God established a Kingdom with Jesus, His Divine Son, as our King. He is not like other kings; He is a humble King. He was born in a manger, brought up in a poor Nazareth family, only shep-herds and three Magi recognized him as a King. An earthly King needs to have armies, security, a castle, fancy expensive clothes, and expensive jewels; and he would need to be transported in big limousines or private jets. Jesus’ Kingdom does not seek to increase its wealth but to promote peace, not to expand borders but to establish justice, not to inflate its own image, but to lead people to freedom, all in the name of truth. “So, Pilate said, to him, Jesus answered, “You say I am King. “For this I was born and for this I came into this world to testify the truth.” (John 18:37) As we celebrate the feast of Christ The King, we need to accept and surrender our lives to Christ as our Lord, King, and Savior. We surrender our lives to Jesus every day, when we give priority to all Jesus taught in our daily choices, especially in making moral decisions. We should not exclude Christ our King from any area of our professional or family lives. Since He is the Humble king, we need to be servant disciples, of a serving King. We need to accept Jesus Christ as the King of love. Je-sus came to proclaim to all of us the Good News of God’s love and salvation, He gave us a “new commandment” of love: “Love one another as I have loved you,” and demon-strated that love by dying for us sinners. Christ stood alone before Pilate, dirty and beaten, but coura-geous and confident, for he knew that the truth would prevail. It is at these hard times that our royal status and strength should shine. It is the power of truth; love will overcome all the powers of evil. All power, dominion, glory, and kingship belong to Him, and He will never be destroyed. He is our King; we are His subjects. Amen!

Cristo Rey
El libro de Daniel describe por qué celebramos esta fiesta de Cristo Rey, y cómo Dios y su reino triunfarían al final. Dios establecería un reino que sería eterno. El profeta Daniel profetizó que el Reino de Dios sería gobernado por uno que se describe como "como un hijo de hombre". Dios le daría a este "hijo de hombre" el dominio, la gloria y el parentesco. Jesús afirmó ser este "Hijo del Hombre", es decir, Él es el Rey, que Daniel había profetizado. Dios estableció un Reino con Jesús, Su Divino Hijo, como nuestro Rey. Él no es como otros reyes; es un Rey humilde. Nació en un pesebre, se crió en una familia pobre de Nazaret, sólo los pastores y tres Reyes Magos lo reconocieron como Rey. Un Rey terrenal necesita tener ejércitos, seguridad, un castillo, ropas caras y joyas costosas;ynecesitaría ser transportado en grandes limusinas o jets privados. El Reino de Jesús no busca aumentar su riqueza, sino promover la paz, no ampliar las fronteras, sino establecer la justicia, no inflar su propia imagen, sino conducir a la gente a la libertad, todo en nombre de la verdad. "Entonces, le dijo Pilato, Jesús respondió: "Tú dices que soy Rey. "Para eso he nacido y para eso he venido a este mundo, para dar testimonio de la verdad".(Juan18:37) Al celebrar la fiesta de Cristo Rey, necesitamos aceptar y entregar nuestras vidas a Cristo como nuestro Señor, Rey y Salvador. Entregamos nuestras vidas a Jesús cada día, cuando damos prioridad a todo lo que Jesús enseñó en nuestras elecciones diarias, especialmente al tomar decisiones morales. No debemos excluir a Cristo, nuestro Rey, de ningún ámbito de nuestra vida profesional o familiar. Ya que Él es el Rey Humilde, necesitamos ser discípulos servidores, de un Rey servidor. Necesitamos aceptar a Jesucristo como el Rey del amor. Jesús vino a proclamarnos a todos la Buena Nueva del amor y la salvación de Dios, nos dio un "mandamiento nuevo" de amor: "Amaos los unos a los otros como yo os he amado", y demostró ese amor muriendo por nosotros, pecadores. Cristo estuvo solo ante Pilato, sucio y golpeado, pero valiente y confiado, pues sabía que la verdad prevalecería. Es en estos momentos difíciles cuando debe brillar nuestra condición y fuerza real. Es el poder de la verdad; el amor vencerá todos los poderes del mal. Todo el poder, el dominio, la gloria y la realeza le pertenecen a Él, y nunca será destruido. Él es nuestro Rey; nosotros somos sus súbditos. Amén!
