baptismal preparation sessions before the birth of their child. Please call the parish

Fr. Michael before a date will be booked, with a minimum of 6 months notice.

Prayer Shawl Ministry Our parish has a Prayer Shawl Ministry. If

you know someone who would appreciate a blessed prayer shawl, please call Ruth Hiebert at 306-682-4942.

Choosing a Christmas Mass We offer three Masses on Christmas Eve and one on Christmas morning to accom-modate large numbers. We encourage people to come to the 10:30 pm Mass to avoid excess congestion at earlier times. We try to have room for families with young children and elderly parishioners at the earlier Masses, as it is often hard for these

parishioners to attend the later Mass.

Christmas Mass Times: 5:00 pm - Christmas Eve 8:00 pm - Christmas Eve 10:30 pm - Christmas Eve 10:00 am - Christmas Day

Nativity Pageant We will once again have our children’s nativity pageant at the 5:00 pm Mass on Christmas Eve. If any children would like to be involved in the Christmas pageant, please contact Nancy Stock at 306-682-4501 or email: [email protected]

Please note: There are a number of changes to our Mass schedule this week. Please see the front page of this bulletin to note the Mass time changes on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday morning.

Because Christmas Eve lands on a Sunday this year, there will be only ONE Forth Sunday of Advent Mass at 10:00 am. The Christmas Eve Mass times are listed below.

celebrations!

K of C Pancake Breakfast, this

Sunday, December 17 in the parish hall. Proceeds go to the Ronald David

Family.

Mass Time Change Beginning in January, 2018, the time for the Thursday Masses in the parish will change. Mass will be celebrated at 7:00 pm. This change is being made to accommodate those who are working or otherwise busy during the morning. We hope this will make the

sacrament more available to our parishioners. As usual, when there is a funeral on a Thursday, the Mass will be cancelled. This change will take effect on Thursday, January 4.

Saskatoon Diocesan CWL/ Honorary and Life Members are facilitating a

workshop on the Gifts/Fruits of the Holy Spirit; as well as “celebrating our

history” to be hosted by St. Augustine CWL on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at

St. Augustine parish Center from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. See Posters on bulletin board in the welcome area. All women of the parish are welcome to attend! Please pre-register by calling Karen at 306-682-3598 or Bev 306-682-5906 .

St. Dominic School Playground Committee has set up a drop off

“bottle drive” at Sarcan depot in

Humboldt. For any of you wishing to donate your recycling to our playground initiative, please take your recyclables (milk jugs, juice containers, cans and bottles) to Sarcan and mention to the employees that you are wanting to donate to St. Dominic School Playground and they will guide you through the rest. It is a simple drop and go system. For any questions contact Jaime at 306-231-6865.

Thank you in advance for your partici-pation

Third Sunday of Advent Gaudete Sunday

This third Sunday in Advent is traditionally known as Gaudete Sunday, adapted from the Latin verb “to rejoice.” In the years before our current three-year cycle of readings, the second reading for this Sunday was always from Philippians 4:4-7. Its call to rejoice, because the Lord is near, sets our hearts in joyful anticipation of salvation. This is symbolized by the pink candle on the Advent wreath, and the optional pink vestments.

Lighthouse Catholic Media

There are still some excellent Advent CD's available on the Lighthouse stand - get them while they last! Also, Catholic CD's and books make great gifts and stocking stuffers. Give a gift that spreads light and hope!

Available for a suggested donation of $6/CD, $7/book. All money collected is used for purchasing new materials.

Help Needed! Volunteers are needed to lead the Rosary before daily Masses and at the 9:00 am Sunday Mass. This has been a time-honored tradition in our parish for many years, and help is needed so that it can continue. If you feel you can volunteer once a week or even once in a while, please contact the parish office.
