Third Army is the Army component for USCENTCOM. Our team must accomplish the missions we are given by USCENTCOM and the U.S. Army, as well as answer the requirements of the forces currently committed in theater.

• Set the conditions for the BRAC mandated movement to Shaw AFB by 15 SEP 2011• Coordinate with Air Force and Local Officials to ensure a timely and effective movement to Shaw AFB

• We currently have more than 150 Soldiers and 90 families that have signed in to Shaw AFB
• The bulk of our force moves to Shaw AFB between 15 April and 15 July 2011
• On 10 May we plan to receive the keys to Patton Hall with a Ribbon Cutting ceremony planned for 20 May
• 15 Jun – we intend to Uncase our Colors and begin operating from Shaw as our Main Command Post
• Estimated gross economic impact to the Sumter community of $120 million
• 321,000 SF State-of-the-Art Command & Control Facility• 91% Complete ~ Scheduled for turnover May 11• 1,600 work stations
