THINGS THAT HOLD DOWN MEN'S DESTINIES

Mens destinies are always their views of future's change. Therefore, men of underworld were being confused through the

    following manipulations of encounters such as:1. Public opinion,2. Tradition,3. Past failure,4. Greediness,5. Relying on one's ability,6. Poor spiritual vision,7. Unrealized Ambition8. Fear

    1. Public opinion: When we talk of public opinion, it often occurs

when a man tries to move to the next level in life or when oneneeds to change position or altitude. This seems to be that youare breaking the rule/law, people around will start murmuring orgossiping about your change, but an adage says, A wise son isalways delightful in his rightful way. Therefore, you do nothave to displease your self in order to please others ratheryou have to make it a clear decision of vision. When youplease yourself in such an occasion, watch out what willhappen in near by future; you will find out that it will bore a nice

and precious fruit for you. Those gossiping you will come andcongratulate you not only congratulating you, they will like toknow the secret, not only knowing the secret, they will like tofollow you, not only following you, and they will like you to teachthem. A piece of advice for you to consider is DONT MINDANY DISTRACTION OR DISCRIMINATION ON YOUR WAYTO ACHIEVE GREAT SUCCESS/DREAMS

    2. Tradition: This is the most occurrence and fragile in mans life, itdue affects people of African nation. Tradition is what set andformed from days of old; it has transferred from generation togeneration. It is also named custom or culture ( peoples waysto life and living)Some peoples culture instances of tradition.A. The first born must stay around to take care of the familyB. The first daughter must get married before others

    C. Sons will worship and serve their grandfathers idols or godsD. People from the community wont wear a foreign clothes or

foodE. They wont welcome a stranger to their homeF. They wont communicate fully with a strangerG. A stranger is their enemiesH. The first son must get married before othersI. The first son or daughter will graduate before othersJ. The first daughter will not marry outside their home unless

they have a son and lotsIf people follow or abide by tradition, that means the world will

become dormant and no new development will arise and no onewill make a stand i.e. Family ties or believe will hold the family orcommunity progress down for a long period, thereby making them

non-responsive. In the community today, you can fine a beautifulwoman like an angel but family believes/tradition will not allow her toget married. In such situation, you will find out that in a family of five(5) girls, only 2 will be able to get married while others will be dumpout. An adage says when a breadfruit reaches its time, it falls. Therefore any opportunity that comes your way, try and seize it to beyours dont loose it because of one reason or the other. Do not counton olden rules and regulations, but try to focus on the future to realizeyour vision and dreams so you can make it in life.Dear, tradition, religion and other similar issues holds down mansdestinies .in religion you may see a lady rejecting a man because hedont have same believe with her. One will not focus on the abovereasons to miss his/her opportunity when it counts for exaltation orenlistment in life. (Excitation)A tradition is a practice, custom, or story that is memorized and passed

down from generation to generation, originally without the need for a

writing system. Tools to aid this process include poetic devices such as

rhyme and alliteration. The stories thus preserved are also referred to as

tradition, or as part of an oral tradition

The word tradition comes from the Latin traditionem, acc. oftradition

which means "handing over, passing on", and is used in a number of ways in

    the English language:

    1. Beliefs or customs taught by one generation to the next, often orally.

For example, we can speak of the tradition of sending birth

    announcements.

    3/7

    2. A set of customs or practices. For example, we can speak of Christmas

    traditions.

    3. A broad religious movement made up of religious denominations or

church bodies that have a common history, customs, culture, and, to

some extent, body of teachings. For example, one can speak of Islam'sSufi tradition or Christianity's Lutheran tradition.

However, on a more basic theoretical level, tradition(s) can be seen as

information or composed of information. For that which is brought into the

present from the past, in a particular societal context, is information? This is

even more fundamental than particular acts or practices even if repeated over

    a long sequence of time.

    3. Past failure; an adage says that fail vs. retrying is calledwillingness and when it matures, it is called success with thissimple rule u are a success achiever. So when one stays adrethink about his past experience breakdown, maybe ineducation, business, politics or endeavors and you let it pull youdown or sets you in bad motion, that is another starting point ofletdown in your life.Instead of living a life of free mind, to press forward in gettingyour dreams actualize, you are there remembering and

recounting what has already passed to the dead. In the actualsense, you are trying to make your self a tweak abandoned andrejected. When you think about your collapse, you know u areabout to have a crash down. If you want to make it, you donthave to look back on your malfunction in education, business, family, friendship or political background. Remember an adagesays the downfall of a man is not the end of his life todayssaying is that a man of straightforward is the main man forsuccess. When you are truly doing what is right, you will surely

make it in life. You wont hold your past failure in high schooland rejecting furthering your studies, likewise in business, allyou need is to know is that a runner never gets tired till the lastwhistle is brown. All you need to do is to put effort and increaseyour study time and rest your mind to increase your % ofreasoning. Dont think about your failure unless you havedecided to fail again. You can only remember the past when

you want to write about biography. As far as you are still on yourway of achieving your dreams, you have to lay hold on yourfutures and set goals.

    4. Greediness; greediness arises when one tries to jealous foranother persons progress. GREEDINESS.

    1. Excessively desirous of acquiring or possessing, especially wishing to

possess more than what one needs or deserves.

    2. Wanting to eat or drink more than one can reasonably consume;

    gluttonous.

    3. Extremely eager or desirous: greedy for the opportunity to prove their

    ability

    4. having or showing a selfish desire for wealth and

    Quotations of greedy:

We simply attempt to be fearful when others are greedyand to begreedyonly when others are fearful.Warren Buffett - Investing - Fear

This war has been motivated by pride or arrogance, by a desire tocontrol oil wealth, by a desire to implant our programs. (talking aboutthe Iraq war)Jimmy Carter- War- Greed - Power

If the firms that employ an increasing majority of the population aredriven solely to satisfy the owner's greed at the expense of workingconditions, of the stability of the community, and of the health of theenvironment, chances are that the quality of our lives will be worsethan it is now.Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi - Environment - Business Ethics - Greed -Profits - Companies - Jobs

The man who has won millions at the cost of his conscience is afailure.BC Forbes - Rich - Failure - Greed

My major problem with the world is a problem of scarcity in the midstof plenty ... of people starving while there are unused resources ...people having skills which are not being used.

Most of the time common stocks are subject to irrational andexcessive price fluctuations in both directions as the consequence ofthe ingrained tendency of most people to speculate or gamble... togive way to hope, fear and greed.Benjamin Graham - Stock Market - Investing - Greed - Fear

If you think of life as like a big pie, you can try to hold the whole pieand kill yourself trying to keep it, or you can slice it up and give someto the people around you, and you still have plenty left for yourself.Jay Leno - Greed - Life - Philanthropy

I think one of the most misunderstood things about business inAmerica is that people are either doing things for altruistic reasons orthey are greedy and selfish, just after profit. That type of dichotomyportrays a false image of business. It certainly is a false image ofWhole Foods. The whole idea is to do both: The animals have toflourish, but in such a way that it'll be cheap enough for thecustomers to buy it.John Mackey - Customers - Business - Business Ethics - American -Greed - Profits

The nature of any human being, certainly anyone on Wall Street, is'the better deal you give the customer, the worse deal it is for you'.Bernard Madoff- Wall Street - Customers - Greed - Deals - HumanBeing

You had a lot of novice investors who got into the market looking foreasy money, without any regard to the fundamentals. These stockswere running on fumes. (Madoff talking about the Internet bubble)Bernard Madoff- Investing - Greed - Stocks - Money - Risk - BullMarket

I don't mind paying people more for something if we're getting more. But just to change a deal because you're greedy and you want more? No. I'm not gonna go along with that.Vince McMahon - Work - Greed -

Money is neither my god nor my devil. It is a form of energy thattends to make us more of who we already are, whether it's greedy orloving.Dan Millman - Money - Greed - God

One of the most ironic things about capitalism is that the capitalist will

sell you the rope to hang himself with. Actually they will give you themoney to make a movie that makes them look bad, if they believethey can make money off it.Michael Moore - Capitalism - Greed - Profits - Money

The motivation for war is simple. The U.S. government started thewar with Iraq in order to make it easy for U.S. corporations to dobusiness in other countries. They intend to use cheap labor in thosecountries, which will make Americans rich.Michael Moore - Greed - America - War- Business - Rich -Government

My take on the whole dot-com bubble was that a lot of people whowanted to make a lot of money got too excited and hyped up thecommercial aspects of the Internet prematurely. I think the vision ofthe Internet as a democratizing medium.. as everyone's printingpress.. is real. We got distracted from that by the mass hallucinationsof the bubble.Craig Newmark - Greed - Internet - Money - Media

We've poured our poisons into the world as though it were abottomless pit.. and we go on gobbling them up. It's hard to imaginehow the world could survive another century of this abuse, butnobody's really doing anything about it. It's a problem our children willhave to solve, or their children.Daniel Quinn - Nature - World - Insanity - Greed - Problems -

    5. Relying on man; in todays society and community, things arefallen apart because young talents are ravishing in sense ofrelying on mens wealth, like considering Africa as an example;they rely on white mans wealth and technology, thats why

    Africa is poor till date.

    6. Poor vision; men of poor spiritual vision are always servant togreat man.

    7. Fear; les brown says fear does not have any special power unlessyou empower it by submitting to it. Fear is an emotional response tothreats and danger. It is a basic survival mechanism occurring in response to

a specific stimulus, such as pain or the threat of pain. Psychologists John B.Watson, Robert Plutchik, and Paul Ekman have suggested that fear is one of

a small set of basic or innate emotions. This set also includes such emotions

as joy, sadness, and anger. Fear should be distinguished from the related

emotional state of anxiety, which typically occurs without any external

threat. Additionally, fear is related to the specific behaviors of escape and

avoidance, whereas anxiety is the result of threats which are perceived to be

    uncontrollable or unavoidable
