You might recognize Kenneth as a regular on the upstairs veranda. He enjoys sitting in the comfy chairs, looking at the beautiful view, and chatting with whoever sits next to him. He says that the main reason he loves the Fountains of Franklin so much is because the staff and residents are enjoyable to get to know and talk to. Everyone is so kind and everyone genuinely cares about each other’s well-being. Kenneth says he has yet to meet anyone who he does not like. Meet Kenneth Hitt

Gobble, Gobble!

Kenneth is what you would call a true southern fellow. Born and raised in middle Tennessee, just outside of Goodlettsville, Kenneth is no stranger to hard work. Kenneth was diagnosed with Polio at the young age of 11 that hindered his chances of enlisting in the military after graduating from Goodlettsville High School. The handicap also interfered with Kenneth’s passion for playing football but just because he could not play football that did not stop Kenneth from being a true fan of the Tennessee Titans and the Tennessee Vols. He likes to

spend his weekends in his apartment watching his favorite teams play, when his children and grandchildren are not visiting him. Kenneth met the love of his life, Helen, at the local community dance hall in 1957. He says it was love at first sight when their eyes met. Kenneth and Helen were married a year later. They were a power couple who did not stop working hard when raising a family. The couple had three children, one girl and two boys. The eldest is Karen who blessed the couple with three granddaughters. Then they had Wesley who blessed them with two grandsons, and the youngest is Timmy, who currently has no children. Helen worked as a receptionist for a doctor’s office until she got her RN license and pursued a career at Oscar Meyer, along with her husband. Kenneth had many different jobs at Genesco, Du Pont, and Oscar Meyer, until finally settling down with a career for the city of Goodlettsville. In 1961 Kenneth and Helen purchased a 30 acre farm upon which he built a home. Kenneth chuckled and reminisced about how hard country boys work and never seem to get a break.

We will once again be hosting our annual Thanksgiving Luncheon for our residents and their families. Please circle the date of Saturday, November 21. We will offer two seatings, 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Reservations will be required. Please look for an email with more details. Meet Albert BoomerAlbert Boomer is our Executive Chef who came to the Fountains of Franklin earlier this year. Albert is a skilled chef who is a culinary graduate of an Opryland Hotel culinary program. His abilities and talents have taken him many places. Albert’s background includes serving as a chef for a hospital, head chef at a grocery store, and as the executive chef for two assisted living facilities. But Albert’s talents don’t stop there! During his free time, Albert is a freelance chef who has cooked for country music stars, television news anchors, and record producers. Albert has been married to his lovely wife, Sara, for twenty-seven years. The couple has two cats, Bella and Jake, and no children. Albert has a passion for music when he is not cooking. His

house has a recording studio where he can create and compose at any time. Albert is a cancer survivor, and he developed a meal plan which helped him during the year and a half of his chemotherapy and radiation. Using his experience and knowledge, Albert wants to be more involved with volunteer work teaching cancer patients and survivors on how to eat properly during treatments and recovery. And lastly, Albert loves his role at the Fountains of Franklin. He says that his goal is to bring a level of satisfaction to the residents and staff. He wants to make a difference from within and see the Fountains flourish.
