Meet Martha Killebrew

Three Years!

Martha visited the Fountains of Franklin, soon after it opened, and thought that it offered all the amenities that she was looking for. She was also impressed with the kind, attentive staff and the beautiful setting. She knew she wouldn’t find a better place to live after that visit. Also, she was able to bring her dog, Cissy, and liked that she could maintain her independence in a safe environment.

Martha grew up in Pulaski, Tennessee with her four sisters and one brother. Her father owned a grocery store on Pulaski’s town square. She attended elementary through high school in Pulaski, and after graduation, Martha attended a business college in Columbia, Tennessee. After college, Martha moved to Atlanta, Georgia to work as a stenographer, and that is where she met her future husband of sixty-five years, Les. Les and Martha had two daughters, Ginger and Becky. Les’ job took the family to exciting places all over the world. Throughout Les and Martha’s marriage, the couple lived in Florida, Washington, Germany for five years, Virginia, Kentucky, and Bangkok, Thailand. After retirement, they moved to Franklin to be closer to family. Martha will soon be ninety years old and her dream is to live for many more years to come. Her fondest dream is for her two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren to thrive and have as many happy years as she has had.

We're 3 years old!! The Fountains has officially become a "toddler," and we are excited to celebrate our new status! Please join us for all the festivities on Sunday, June 5, from 4 - 6 p.m. We will have live music from Six String Jazz, enjoy a delicious indoor cook-out buffet including a special birthday dessert, view some beautiful antique automobiles, and play some fun indoor and outdoor games. There will even be door prizes! We are so thankful for the three years that we have been blessed to serve all of our residents and families. Come help us celebrate!

Meet Judy HeineckeJudy’s employment at the Fountains of Franklin was meant to be! Judy’s in-laws lived for some time in the panhandle area of Alabama/Florida. When her mother-in-law died, her father-in-law moved into a similar facility in Pensacola, Florida. His family visited him and played music. Judy knew right away that she wanted to work in a senior community. After watching the Fountains being built, she decided to stop by and ask for a job. She was hired that very day! Judy grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago with four sisters, three older and one younger. She attended beauty school after high school and worked as a dental assistant for four years before she had children. Judy is happily married to Kurt, who is a full-time musician and photographer. Kurt and Judy have three children, including Gretchen, (24) who is married to Weston, Clayton (18) and

Wesley (16). Both boys attend Page High School. All the children are musicians. Judy hopes that all of her children will be happily married and blessed with children of their own. Also, Kurt and Judy would love to travel cross-country in a small camper and explore America! In addition to enjoying crafting and decorating, Judy loves going to flea markets and antiquing. She also enjoys putting on her pajamas, popping some popcorn, and watching a movie with her family and/or friends. Judy loves working as a receptionist. She appreciates being able to greet everyone entering the facility and spending time with the residents. She says she’s being honest by saying this is her favorite job! (Except being a mom, of course.)
