• ENGLISH IS A TOOL IN LEARNING IN ALL LEVELS OF LEARNER MERELY TO PROVIDE KNOWLEDGE FOR THE LEARNERS TO BE AN ENGLISH LITERATE BUT MORE SPECIFICALLY FOR THE REASON THAT THEY NEED TO KNOW HOW TO SPEAK,READ, AND WRITE IN ORDER TO COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY.

• IN ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE HAS A SET OF RULES TO GOVERN HOW SYMBOLS AND WORDS CAN BE ARRANGE SYSTEMATICALLY.HOWEVER ENGLISH LANGUAGE IS KNOWN TO ITS COMPLEXITIES AND EVEN THE BEST SPEAKER AND WRITER COULD MAKE MISTAKES.

• ENGLISH HAS A LOT OF COMMONLY CONFUSED WORDS. THEY EITHERLOOK ALIKE,SOUND A LIKE, WORST OF ALL LOOK AND SOUND ALIKE BUT HAVE DIFFERENT IN MEANINGTHAT IS WHY SO MUCH ATTENTION IS GIVEN IN THE COMMON MISUSED WORDS IN ENGLISH.

• AS OBSERVED,MANY ED. STUDENTS AT ISCOF ENCOUNTER IN COMMON MISUSED WORDS IN ENGLISH IN BOTH ORAL AND WRITTEN COMMUNICATION.THEY VIOLATED THE RULES IN USING WORDS IN SENTENCE STRUCTURE THAT LEAD THEM INTO CONFUSION OF USING WORDS.
