About Me

I grew up in the small community of Colville, Washington, where I learned the true values of life and let my imagination and creativity shape who I am today.

The summer before my freshman year of high school I decided to start fresh and move to Spokane, Washington to pursue a Jesuit Education at Gonzaga Preparatory High School. My experience there challenged me intellectually and prepared me for the most important part of my life. Studying at the University of Idaho has opened me up to numerous opportunities that led me to my passion for design. Fall 2013 I had the opportunity to study design in Florence, Italy. With the Florence Cathedral and the dome by Brunelleschi literally in my back yard I was submersed in a city full of beautiful Renaissance art and architecture. This was a beneficial experience because not only did I learn different approaches to design, but I was able to learn about and see first hand many famous architectural monuments. I am so grateful to watch my potential unfold before my eyes, I am constantly learning and growing everyday which helps me stay dedicated to my goals and my future as a professional Interior Designer.

Infinitea Retail SpaceIntermediate Interior DesignFall 2013Florence, ItalyInfinitea is a space not to just purchase tea, but a place where anyone can come to relax, study, or gather with friends. It is situated close to San Marco on the low key street of Via San Gallo. The space is divided into four main parts: The Retail, The Cafe, The Courtyard, and The Study Lounge. Each space is connected to have easy access and to make each space open and flexible. I incorporated antique furnishings mixed with warm tones and textures that give the space a unique, yet elegant feel.

Cessnun Family KitchenInterior Design 152Fall 2012Collaborative project with Hunter Van BramerPotlatch, Idaho

A family kitchen inspired by the love of rustic design, with an adventurous but inviting atmosphere. The Cessnun family leads an active lifestyle and they enjoy family activities such as, game nights, movie nights, and large extended family gatherings. We designed the space to have an open concept to enhance the safety and interaction of the space. Having an active circulation path allows for easy flow of traffic for small children and large gatherings. we chose rustic finishes that complimented the family’s lifestyle and brought welcoming ambiance into the space. we are proud to say that our design got chosen by Mrs. Cessnun and Minyoung for having the best spatial layout and ammenities for the family.

The Guest House identity reflects the Moscow area, its community, and the University of Idaho. It provides a unique experience that enhances the quality and personal belonging of an indivdual’s stay. Each room reflects a different activity that is significant to the area, this provides the user a chance to learn about what Moscow has to offer and to explore those possibilities when visiting the area.

Cabin Construction Model

Our cabin design focuses on an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings to give our small cabin the illusion of a larger space. We wanted to create a space that incorporates economical and sustainable materials while still giving our little cabin a rustic aesthetic.

Eqyptian jewelry box inspiration photo

For the past few years I have been collecting jewelry boxes, so for my project I want to make an Egyptian style jewelry box to add to my collection. I have a jewelry box from Ireland that my Grandma would use, I have one that I found at an antique store that is ster-ling silver which I use for majority of my jewelry and then I have my other Grandma’s box that she would put her medals in that I brought in to share with the class. This box is very special and it shows elegance, I don’t use this box for my jewelry but I have it displayed on a bookshelf in my living room. There are a few others, but those three are the most significant in my collection. This is a great opportunity to add a new jewelry box to my collection, one that I can be proud of and that I can pass down in my family.

Lamp ProjectInterior Design 282Spring 2013Inspired by designer Jordi Vilardell and the MoonThe moon is a fascinating mass that is mysterious yet intriguing. It is the one thing that always keeps me questioning the possibilties that lie within the solar system and how its significance affects the human race. when I started browsing Designers, Jordi Vilardell’s Puck lighting design immediately caught my attention because I began picturing the moon. After skimming all the different designs and configurations of the puck light I became inspired by the simple yet powerful form. Many people have different phenomena and interpretations of the moon but when i think of the moon I think of it as Nature’s permanenant night light, it will always be in the midnight sky to comfort you when exploring nature. Its organic, spherical form has inspired my design idea: A 21st century modern ambiance wall light that can also act as a piece of artwork.. it’s min-imalistic yet chic with its metallic texture and wave-like form. When lit up, it’s soft ambiance warms the room and sets a comfortable tone for everyone to enjoy.

The idea for this project was to find a space that we wanted to recreate in three different render scenes. The first scene on the left is the colors that were projected in the original photo, the second is grayscale, and the third is my own analogous color scheme. The renderings portray shadowing, texture, lighting, and materiality.

University of Idaho Childcare Development LabInterior Design 152Spring 2013Collaborative project with Hunter Van BramerMoscow, Idaho

The childcare development lab needs qualities that help the children learn and explore. By creating a space that is full of learning opportunities, easy communication, and adventure the users will experience an environment that will help them prosper in the years to follow. Through the use of an open floor plan we have created a space that allows for easy flow of traffic and communication. Movable storage units establish flexible zones that can be changed and rearranged as needed; keeping the children engaged and motivated to explore a semi-constant changing environment. We incorporated many safety and technology-based equipment that will help with learning and easy clean up. Through the use of materials and layout we have created a design that is engaging, flexible, and friendly.
