ANZAC Day Drowning

If you were lucky to be playing at the Dawn Service on ANZAC Day you may have missed the massive down pour that drenched everyone involved with the ANZAC march through Perth city. Above is the RASWA Brass Band marching in the rain and on the right what was left of some of their music after it got totally soaked. We congratulate all the many performers who braved the weather to pay tribute to our returned service people.

Mark Walton to visit Perth this weekend!

Many of you may be familiar with Mark Walton and his books; 66 Great Tunes, More Great Tunes and Note Cruncher plus his ensemble works. In association with the WA Clarinet and Saxophone Society he will be working with groups who attend this years’ ClariSax Feast which we are proud to support. Registrations can be made on the CASSWA website and we look forward to seeing you there!

The WA Band Association State Band Festivalwas held on the 28th and 29th of May. Once again it was a great event with many local bands and performers given the opportunity to play and be adjudicated. Here are the results from the weekend:

Stocktake, Stocktake, Stocktake

Very soon we will be starting the massive task of counting our stock for stocktake. Many wholesale companies have advised us that overseas factory prices have risen and the exchange rate isn’t as good as it was so therefore many prices will be rising June 1st. So that means if you are thinking of purchasing an instrument NOW is the best time to secure yourself a bargain before existing stocks get snapped up and you have to purchase your new instrument at a more expensive price!
