1. INFORMATION DISSEMINATION

SATISFACTION CONCERNS RECOMMENDATIONSI love … and the access to information. Omnivox is quite slow at times. We should receive emails when something is posted on Omnivox.

No problems at all with Omnivox. Events around the school should be publicized and broadcasted better. Make sure all links on the college site work & that all regions contain information.

I find that it's [college] website is a bit cluttered.

We should be able to have access of the cancelled classes for the week, not just seeing the

cancelled classes of the current day. There should be a section where we would be able to

know where and when are our teachers' office hours on the website. The calendar on

Omnivox should identify the title of our courses, not the number of the course.

Omnivox doesn't always send me information sent out by my teacher.

I think that Omnivox should be formatted so that events that are going on in the school are

displayed on the home page as well as important information, dates and reminders.

Similar to what the John Abbott College omnivox.I was on a late registration and because of that I didn't got ANY HELP for anything. No one even told me that

ovnivox existed, how I was suppose to pay the college, where to get my books or how the students services

work. (also under Admission, Registration, Schedules section) Make a dedicated Omnivox mobile app that can run on Iphones and Android phones.

Omnivox often stops working.

When it comes to the Vanier college website, there should be an easy click button for all of

the websites we require such as: webwork, turnitin, omnivox vanier, etc.

What bothers me the is that I don't know much about the services the college provides and I don't know

where I can go to inform myself.

The school should have a radio club or something because I usually miss out on events that

take place at school (ex: Suit day, VCSA t-shirt day, etc.) I have looked at the bulleting,

when I can, and it is always crammed with a lot of notices.

Won a scholarship and never knew until it was almost too late to claim it.

Maybe there should be a list of the places that we can go and where we can just relax with

our friends, become it is pretty difficult to searc since the college is very big. Or there can

be a section on Omnivox.

I think Vanier should provide more information about how to apply for scholarships. Clean up the main page of the website.

Inform students on issues so that discussion can ensue and a decision can be taken.

You really should work on a Omnivox mobile application for iPhones/Androids/Blackberries

since almost every student on the campus has one of these smartphones and teachers rely

more and more on Omnivox to transmit important informations.

2. PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT / LIBRARY / ACTIVITIES FOR STUDENT WELL-BEING

do As I discovered more and more fun

activities during UB and many other

events, I took a liking on the interesting

activities that they offer such as the

freak breakfast on Thursdays, free give-

aways, contest, etc.

There need to be more genuinely quiet study spaces; I can't get away from these loud teenagers everywhere

that have no respect for those around them.

More quiet spaces with more supervision; the library for example could be great but lots of

loud talkers or kids with headphones too loud or who have their friends chatting with them

in the silent study area.

I really enjoy the layout of the college. I

find that it really gives off a great

learning vibe.

Sometimes the classrooms ares so far from each other that it's a real pain to hurry and get to the next

course without the teacher scolding us.

The loud dj music other than wednesdays in jakes is quite enerving, although is

understandable during UB

The college's facilities are satisfactory. Could use one or two more Quiet cafeterias to "hang out". They should let us eat in the msc!!! VERY IMPORTANT!!!Lots of places to study and hang out at

Vanier. My favourite place to be is the library! LOVE THAT PLACE!Improving places to hang out between classes by adding tables, chairs and couch.

The school is very accommodating to

leisure time.

I think there are not enough places to go when we ae not in classes, and there are not enough computors to

work on. Would be better if Vanier had more entertaining spots as in studying in an energetic room.I like the space the fact that Vanier has

outdoor space. I'd like to have places to rest if possible. I'm tired very often and there is no where I can go to sleep...

Maybe add more places to hang out, it gets crowded during lunch hour, and isn't always

easy to find somewhere to relax and eat.

I like the quiet caf. People in the library should be less talkative. More rooms that we can study in but that we can also eat.

The school is very clean compared to

other schools I went to.

I don't like going up the stairs to the 4th or 5th floor it is very exhausting, especially when carrying a lot of

heavy books because you are in the science program…

There should be more quiet environments to work on school work since the quiet cafeteria

gets bombarded with loud talkers who don't respect the silence.

The college is a place filled with

comfort. La climatisation et le chauffage sont definitevement à revoir dans les classes et dans les corridors.

I'm not sure if Vanier does this but I think it would be great if Vanier integrates a cultural

week! Or an international event for a pot lock or something in that sort.

The occasional UB events to get

students together are a genius idea.

As to the student life itself, I do not necessarily indulge in the social aspects of the school. It is to my

understanding and respect that Vanier College does not impose upon the freedom of its students, but as

winter encroaches, I do not see how all the students will fit comfortably within the walls of the school.

Already, there is not much room to maneuver, never mind find a quiet place to sit, other than the library. As

a student with the bulk of her classes in the N Building, this is actually impossible. The "Quiet Caf" on the

first floor is definitely never quiet and when students are left to their own devices, unfortunately, the peace

is hard to obtain. One more thing, most importantly, is the DJ booth set up adjacent to the main Cafeteria. I

think it is great that students are able to feign "Disc Jockey" for a day, but as a cry for the generation that

walks through the doors; please do something about the music. Most of the music that is presented is

extremely explicit, vulgar, and offensive, not to mention that at the decibels it's played at, it is deafening. I

was actually shocked that Rihanna's "Rude Boi"; a track pertaining to insolent, sexual rough-housing, was

blasting through the entire first floor. On another occasion, it was Lil' Johh's "Get low"; including possibly

more profane content thatn the former and equipped with cursing and the encouragement to "get wasted"

(mind you, all at 10 o'clock in the morning). I do not wish to sound prude, but I believe that appealing to the

younger demographic does not need to turn the entire floor level into a night club.(latter part also in Other

section.)

My only concern is that I find that there is no real quiet area to study in the school. I feel

distracted even in the library, but with the noise people constantly make with coming and

going and packing their bags, I can never get good study time in at school. Some people

have 4-5 hours breaks and I highly suggest that you allow students to sign up to make use

of empty classrooms during intervals so that they have a quiet time sanctuary where there

is no talking allowed. I know there are many fragile students like me who need silence to

work most effectively. Thanks for considering the idea.

I sometimes see students taking seats in the library and ot study at all. They would sleep or just listen to

music/watch videos and chatter with friends. It's irritating, they should do that somewhere else! Some

students might need that spot to actually study. I think there should be more supervising in the 3rd and 4th

floor.

I think the library should have a place to eat. I dislike eating in the cafeteria then going

upstairs to work. There are sometimes no seats in the cafeteria. I would rather eat in the

library so it could save the trip from walking to the library AND from looking for seats in

the cafeteria.

Library does get cramped and noisy. Have lockers in all the buildings and courses of the same program in a single building.

Just wish the library had more space to sit. Allow entrance from all floors to the library.

It would be nice if students would access the library from the 5th floor Put an elevator in the A building.

Loud music in common areas is problematic for me. There must be more others quiet café like in N but in the main building

At certain times the library is so packed! My work is undone due to the lack of space to study in the

library…Jake's hall is full and loud!

The quiet study room on the 4th floor of the library should be supervised since ther are

many groups of students coming there and talking loudly while others are studying.

The library is treated as a lounge instead of a place to study. It is very cold in the school in general.

Installing more electric plugs would benefit the students very much. Som large rooms (like

the D building cafeteria) don't have a single one.

A bigger library with more diversitied of books.

Having better places to hang out.

Vanier should have more tables and chairs for people to study.

The computers at Vanier are not very accessible. They are being used most of the time because it is first

come first served.Improve the difficulties to enter in our account in the computer room.

there are problems when trying to log in on a computer in the library. Sometimes, computers work fine but

when anote student tries to use the same computer it just doesn't function properly.

Unlock the BIOS on computers (those that would mess it up don't know about it) to allow

for more flexibility.

There are plenty of resources for

students who need them, and

everything is accessible.

A lot of the time, the computers across the library don't work. It's happened to me a few times and I was

unable to access them.

More up to date computers in the hypermedia department and possibly a larger computer

lab there also

Services that are offered are great!

I think that if it were in anyway possible, to advise new students where to get help with printing, it should be

done. College could use more black & white printers.

I love the renting out of laptops and the

computers provide in MSC for students.

Vanier College makes a New Student feel overwhelmed and stressed out, especially when they just came out

of high school. They expect you to be mature and grown up knowing what your doing with our lives when we

don't! High school was a place where everything was easy, in college, they hit you with new rules and

information that we never learnt in high school. But tough luck we need to learn the hard way. No wonder

people are falling out of college!

It would be helpful to have an optional orientation in which incoming students would be

given a tour of the entirety of the campus in order to know where student services,

academic services, academic advising, the bookstore, good study locations, etc. can be

found. As well as to gain an awareness of how to navigate the buildings efficiently.

…it has so much resources that we can

get help. …there are not enough computers to work on I would really like if their were more computers in the college to access.The college is a place filled with

comfort and resources. Sometimes some of the laptops we can borrow don't function correctly or won't connect to the Internet. For first semester exploration students, a visit of the gym would ba appreciated.

Specifically on the library and access to computers, even though I know there are many available, and it is

not entirely a college's isuse that I do not have access to a computer at my house, but it is very rare where I

can go into the library and have access to a computer without having to wait between 5 and 45 minutes for

one to open up.

An orientation day should be done for the new students coming from high school. Show

the different part of the building, how to find your class, where to do your student card,

where to buy the books, the N Building… Personally the first week I had no clue where was

the N, I had no clue we could buy books before we start school and where was the

bookstore, I had no clue we had to do a student card and whre to go, also the lockers I

didn't know we had to ask for one through omnivox, so the only one I could have was in

the N-Building which is not useful in my case...It is possible to manage by asking students,

but it would be way easier for us if we would know before.

The school's services are overall very

satisfying. No computers are available throughout the whole school. Maybe have more computers.Sometimes, there are not enough computers and some students have to wait to use the computer which

sometimes takes a while & the WiFi of the school is sometimes slow if not takes a long time to work.

school I hav never rally explored before…

If the MSC had more computers, it could be great because during UB, it is hard for students

without computers to be able to do their school work, a good example, webworks!Students should be logged off of computers after inactivity. Virtually without fail I always

had to ask the IT people to sign out a computer when no one was around. Also perhaps it

shouldn't be enforced, but suggested that students who have access to their own

computers should not be occupying space on the school computers. I have witnessed a

student working on their own computer while seated in front of a computer station and

The students of Computer Science Technology should have two labs because often the

computers in the only lab are not enough for students.

4. CAFETERIA SERVICES

SATISFACTION CONCERNS RECOMMENDATIONSGet better on campus food. Better quality cafeteria food, with the prices corresponding.

The cafeteria food really needs improvement! No options for vegetarians.

Food is a bit expensive. Perhaps bring more healthy choice of food. Low budget: Leave no

choice for student to grab junk food (fried, pizza etc)…and how come the school doesn't sell botteld water? Coca cola s bad for you and has just as much

plastic!?! I wish the prices in the cafeteria could be lowered.

Cafeteria's food is a little too expensive. Lower prices in the cafeteria's food.

Cafeteris food is really not healthy in N building. Lower prices on food.

Cafeterias close so early. Some days I would love to buy some foods after 3-4pm

5. COLLEGE PERSONNEL (TEACHERS AND OFFICERS)

The teachers are very committed to

their role.

The ____ officer is so rude and he does NEVER help me with my financial problems at all. It seems he is so

nice with other people when I see him speak with them, but with me definitely he is NOT… He is racist and I

feel kind of excluded when I go (because I have to) to speak with him. I don't know if it's my accent, or my

nationality or what, but the first day he asked me if I was a refugee (wtf, knowing that refugee people

cannot attend college). Anyways, this is sooo frustrating since I don't have another choice to go see him.

I think teachers should show more enthusiasm in their teachings to motivate the students.

The teachers are very competent and

extremely helpful.

I didn’t like the service that____ provided me. He was rude, he doesn't have the courtesy to explain you

about the loan and bursary and instead he just tells you to read and come back. He seemed impatient and

even said "CHRIST" when I did not understand something. He wasn't specific on what to bring for the loan

and bursary application, I had to come back 4 times because of that. I think teachers should be more prepared.

Most of my teachers are quite dynamic

and energtic in their teaching and that

is a great motivation for me.

Some teachers should care more about their students future. I am a good student trying to enrol into police

technology for now three years… and can't get more than 50s in english. I've spoken to my teacher several

times with no success for extra help.

I suggest that he changes his attitude toward clients and that he does hs job by explaining

to people how the application for loans and bursaries work.

I 've met … a lot of nice teachers. Also rumor has it the academic advisors are very belittleling, which is why I'm avoiding to go see one.

I wish the _____ officer could be patient and had more time available for students' questions.

7. ACADEMICS, LEARNING MATERIALS, ATTITUDES TO LEARNING & TUTORS

SATISFACTION CONCERNS RECOMMENDATIONSA lot is being done for the students in

my program which is very useful, such

as the MSC and the peers there to help.

Peer tutoring for science students are not a great help. They figure answers in their heads and tell us it's

easy. Tutors should be teachers. I personally wouldn't mind paying more than two dollas/hour for real

tutors.

It would be awesome if more teachers could be available in the physics/chemistry resource

center.

Vanier College provides a great

learning ambiance.

I was very dissatisfied with the students trying to help in the math and science resource center. No one

could help me in Calculus one. More tutors who are good in subjects other than math and chemistry would be great.

I found that I couldn't get proper help from the tutors in the Math and Science center because it's usually

packed, all the tutors are occupied and most of them are only good with math and chemistry.

Getting better wifi coverage and internet speeds, even though I understand it is not an

easy task, but some teachers have difficulties setting learning tools up.

Having a hard time getting a tutor.All teachers should in a way be mandated to upload the grades of students more

frequently on omnivox.

I only have grades for two classes, therefore I don't know how good I'm doing in the other ones. More creative writing in English classes.

There are still trouble makers in a few of my classes.

Treat college similar to high school. Yes independence is big, but some students are

minors, we cant be that independent! Teachers need to learn that some students don't

obtain information fast. Slow down, and write everything down, like I said we just came

out of high school. our brains were in the high school mind-frame, we can't switch our

minds to college mind-frame

The Progression Charts are somewhat confusing. The summary of each course for each class is too brief. Some of the tutors in MSC should't be tutoring…

I think Vanier College should offer advanced courses to science AND social science

students, such as Advanced Calculus or Mathematics.

8. ADMISSION, REGISTRATION & SCHEDULES


I am particularly satisfied with the

registration and admission office. They

are responsive to students' need and

always get the jobs done as quick as

possible. …I don't understand why there is a universal break. It is a bad thing I just don't understand.

Course schedule - Could use a larger varitey of time for choices of course so we don't have

long breaks with nothing to do.

Satisfied with administration service. Making a schedule was very annoying when it wouldn't work after submitting it, and had to re-do it 5 times. No classes after 4 o'clock for day students!

I would like to add that I absolutely

loved how the making of our course

schedule was handled. Compared to

my friends who were admitted at

Montmorency, Vanier's way was a lot

better. We didn't have to wait in line

and we could make our schedule from

scratch. Very nice, thumbs up.

It would be nice if there were more on what to expect about registering and how to go about selecting

courses a significant amount of time before registration and course selection. Even though there was the

orientation session, I still felt very uncertain.

Mid terms should not all be in the same week. It stresses everyone and some of us can't

take all of that so we fail.

Music schedules are terrible made and should be like the other programs. More staff to handle the ever growing amount of applications.

Making my schedule, I was forced to start oveer several times because of the classes I had taken had run out

of room Somehow make course registration easier (as I got logged out a few times)

I'm in the music program so it's quite confusing to make our schedules.

I suggest that the registration period for students to do their schedule should be more

organized and it's sometimes unfair for students that register later because few choices

are left.

Registration was a little confusing with the SRAM system. There was some difficulties with sending required

documents.

Make adjustments to the online course schedule maker in order to avoid having to start

over each time a chosen class runs out of room.

It's very difficult to register for the classes that are interesting because they get full quickly and then I'm

stuck with classes that are boring.

More class choices (interesting) at registration or at least save some good classes for the

students who always register later.

I am very displeased of Vanier's admission because even though I got accepted into social science with

mathematics program, not a single math class was left for me to choose during the registration session and

ths was extremely important for me since I really needed to improve my mathematics grades from high

school to be able to switch program. Now however, even though the counselor helped me, I must still take

time during summer vacation for summer classes to be able to switch next autumn semester.

On the first, open another place where we could do our I.D. cards. The waiting line was too

long and some had to miss some classes because of the time they had to spend to get their

I.D. card. It's hard to leave a line for class, after waiting for a long time.I was on a late registration and because of that I didn't get ANY HELP for anything. No one told me that

Omnivox existed, how I was supposed to pay the college, where to gt my books or how the students services

work. (also under information dissemination)

Next time you accept a student into a program, DON'T SQUEEZE THEM OUT OF CLASSES

THEY ARE OBLIGATED TO TAKE.

Registration and admission services require a little more work.

Registration is a slow process.

I am not too happy about the ridiculously huge breaks on some days.

survey. Inadequate firewall.Be allowed to use debit for parking, or at least have a change machine.

The school is very accommodating to

leisure time and smoking is a good

distance from the school.

…I wish I had more time to take on more courses that are more of a hobby than for a job. Like music,

theater, and calculus. I know it's weird. Only I love math and wish I could have continued from hgh school

but my program does not require it and I would already have too much work to take on calculus.

The college should also set up a room for smoking purpose since there are many students

smoking along the way from the D Building to the N-Building; it is not good for the health

of others since that pathway is the sole way to get to the N-Building for many.

As for my program, it would b nice to have more practical study hours instead of theoretical ones.It might be good to have a swim team since they are are cool. :)

I dislike the fact that if you take the wrong staircase you mgith have to walk all the way down again and

make your way up with a different one.Wish there would be a bus from metro du college or cote vertu that goes to Vanier

directly.

The college should ban smoking on the campus!!!

Parking is not convenient. I just wish the prices in the book store would be lowered.

Students shouldn't be able to smoke on Vanier Campus, some of us have medical reason

for not being able to breath smoke…I have asthma and breathing smoke increases my risk

of getting bronchiatus. We are in the middle of the semester and I have got 2 bronchiatus

already, its not cool for other students to be penelized for not smoking.

I think there should be more supervising in the 3rd and 4th floor. Change the music program to work like the othes.

Few of the programs are not identified, couldn't find the program social science itself so had to put social

science with music.

I hope that someday if it could but I won't, to links a tunnel from Cote vertu subway to

There are many things that need to be improved. The college should not take the things it is doing well or

has for granted either. Consistent and good will are key.

I know it's not the college's fault but high school should give more information about loans

and bursaries because I did not even know I had to go gt the autorisation to have the first

month's money and I was late to pay my lease...

The financial aid officer, _____ is so rude and he does NEVER help me

with my financial problems at all. It seems he is so nice with other

people when I see him speak with them, but with me definitely he is

NOT… He is racist and I feel kind of excluded when I go (because I

have to) to speak with him. I don't know if it's my accent, or my

nationality or what, but the first day he asked me if I was a refugee

(wtf, knowing that refugee people cannot attend college). Anyways,

this is sooo frustrating since I don't have another choice to go see

him. 1 x

I think there are not enough place to go when we are not in classes,

Peer tutoring for science students are not a great help. They figure

answers in their heads and tell us it's easy. Tutors should be teachers.

There need to be more genuinely quiet study spaces; I can't get away

from these loud teenagers everwhere that have no respect for those

I am particularly satisfied with the registration and admission office.

They are very responsive to students' need and always get the jobs

When I first came to Vanier, I thought that it would be plain and not

much to do. As I discovered more and more fun activities during UB

and many other events, I took a liking on the interesting activities that

they offer such as the freak breakfast on Thursdays, free give-aways,

contests, etc. 1 x

There are problems when trying to log in on a computer in the

Library. Sometimes, computers work fine but when another student

tries to use the same computer it just doesn't function properly. 1 x

I dislike the fact that if you take the wrong staircase you might have

something. He wasn't specific on what to bring for the loan and

bursary application, I had to come back 4 times because of that. 1 x

Since the college is pretty big, I often do not know where to go to

study or just relax and be with my friends except the library, the

cafeteria, and the few other places that I know (the learning center

and the social science resource center). But in overall, I appreciate

Some teachers should care more about their students future. I am a

good student trying to enrol into police technology for now three

years… and can't get more than 50s in english. I've spoken to my

Although my need to make use of all the services that the College

offers has yet not arisen, I believe that Vanier does offer a multitude

of great resources. As to the student life itself, I do not necessarily

indulge in the social aspects of the school. It is to my understanding

and respect that Vanier College does not impose upon the freedom of

its students, but as winter encroaches, I do not see how all the

students will fit comfortably within the walls of the school.Already,

there is not much room to maneuver, never mind find a quiet place to

sit, other than the library. As a student with the bulk of her classes in

the N Building, this is actually impossible. The "Quiet Caf" on the first

floor is definitely never quiet and when students are left to their own

devices, unfortunately, the peace is hard to obtain. One more thing,

most importantly, is the DJ booth set up adjacent to the main

Cafeteria. I think it is great that students are able to feign "Disc

Jockey" for a day, but as a cry for the generation that walks through

the doors; please do something about the music. Most of the music

that is presented is extremely explicit, vulgar, and offensive, not to

mention that at the decibels it's played at, it is deafening. I was

actually shocked that Rihanna's "Rude Boi"; a track pertaining to

insolent, sexual rough-housing, was blasting through the entire first

floor. On another occasion, it was Lil' Johh's "Get low"; including

possibly more profane content thatn the former and equipped with

cursing and the encouragement to "get wasted" (mind you, all at 10

o'clock in the morning). I do not wish to sound prude, but I believe

that appealing to the younger demographic does not need to turn the

I would like to add that I absolutely loved how the making of our

course schedule was handled. Compared to my friends who were

admitted at College Montmorency, Vanier's way was a lot better. We

didn't have to wait in line and we could make our schedule from

scratch. Very nice, thumbs up. I really like the College environment,

I've met a lot of new students and very nice teachers. It's like

everyone is nice. Though, there are still trouble makers in a few of my

classes. Also, I sometimes see students talking seats in the library and

not study at all. They would sleep or just listen to music/watch videos

and chatter with friends. It's irritating, they should do that

somewhere else! Some students might need that spot to actually

study. I think there should be more supervising in the 3rd and 4th

I am very displeased of Vanier's admission because even though I got

accepted into social science with mathematics program, not a single

math class was left for me to choose during the registration session

and this was extremely important for me since I really needed to

improve my mathematics grades from high school to be able to

switch program. Now however, even though the counselor helped

me, I must still take time during summer vacation for summer classes

to be able to switch next autumn semester. 1 x

I'm not too happy about the ridiculously huge breaks on some days. 1 x

I was on a late registration and because of that I didn't got ANY HELP

for anything. No one ever told me that ovnivox existed, how I was

supposed to pay the college, where to get my books or how the

students services work. 1 1 xx

Vanier College makes a New Student feel overwhelmed and stressed

out, especially when they just came out of high school. They expect

you to be mature and grown up knowing what your doing with our

lives when we don’t! High school was a place where everhthing was

easy, in college, they hit you with new rules and information that we

never learnt in high school. But tough luck we need to learn the hard

way. No wonder people are failing out of college! 1 x

I love the renting out of the laptops and the computers provide in

MSC for students. I think that's genius! I'm really loving the vanier

Going up and down the flights of stairs can become a hassle.

Sometimes some of the laptops we can borrow don't function

correctly or won't connect to the internet. Omnivox often stops

What bothers me the is that I don't know much about the services the

college provides and I don't kow where I can go to inform myself. I

would also like to know if I can get a private tutor and if I can, how

I adore Vanier! My only problem is the walking, it'll be terrible during winter

time! Wish there would be a bus from metro du college or cote vertu that

goes to Vanier directly. 1I think teachers should show more enthusiasm in their teachings to motivate

the students. 1More quiet spaces with more supervision; the library for example could be

great but lots of loud talkers or kids with headphones too loud or who have

their friends chatting with them in the silent study area. Also the printing

network is REALLY unstable. 1The quiet study room on the 4th floor of the library should be supervised

since there are many groups of students coming there and talking loudly

while others are studying. The college should also set up a room for smoking

purpose since there are many students smoking along the way from the D-

Building to the N-Building; it is not good for the health of others since that

Installing more electric plugs would benefit the students very much. Some

large rooms (like the D building cafeteria) don’t have a single one. 1

bronchiatus already, its not cool for other students to be penelized for not

My only concern is that I find that there is no real quiet area to study in the

school. I feel distracted even in the library, but with the noise people

constantly make with coming and going and packing their bags, I can never

get good study time in at school. Some people have 4, 5 hours breaks and I

highly suggest that you allow students to sign up to make use of empty

classrooms during intervals so that they have a quiet time sanctuary where

there is no talking allowed. I know there are many fragile students like me

who need silence to work most effectively. Thanks for considering this idea. 1More tutors who are good in subjects other than math and chemistry would

be great. I feel like the school should have a radio club or something because

I usually miss out on events that take place at school )ex: Suit day, VCSA t-

shirt day, etc.) I've looked at the bulleting, when I can, and it is always

crammed with a lot of notices. 1 1

It would be helpful to have an optional orientation in which incoming

students would be given a tour of the entirety of the campus in order to

know where student services, academic services, academic advising, the

bookstore, good study locations, etc. can be found. As well as to gain an

awareness of how to navigate the buildings efficiently. 1Getting better wifi coverage and internet speeds, even though I understand

it is not an easy task, but some teachers have difficulties setting learning

tools up. 1I wish there would be more communication for future activities/tryouts

within the school. C

I hope that someday if it could but I won't, to links a tunnel from Cote vertu

subway to Vanier college and/or to link a tunnel from Vanier main building

I suggest that he changes his attitude toward clients and that he does his job

by explaining to people how the application for loans and bursaries work. 1

Maybe there should be a list of the places that we can go and where we can

just relax with our friends, become it is pretty difficult to search since the

College is very big. Or there can be a section on Omnivox. 1

Create more little hangout spots. 1I suggest that the registration period for students to do their schedule

should be more organized and it's sometimes unfair for students that

register later because few choices are left. 1Make adjustments to the online course schedule maker in order to avoid

I was however not happy with the time of my orientation session. I believe it

was around 6 PM. I think it should have been earlier, let's say … 3-4PM. Also,

I think the library should have a place to eat. I dislike eating in the cafeteria

then going upstairs to work. There are sometimes no seats in the cafeteria. I

would rather eat in the library so it could save the trip from walking to the

library AND from looking for seats in the cafeteria. 1 C

You really should work on a Omnivox mobile application for

iPhones/Androids/Blackberries since almost every student on the campus

has one of these smartphones and teachers rely more and more on Omnivox

to transmit important informations. 1

allowed to sleep in the library during our breaks. 9) I've ran out of

suggestions. 10) Did I say I'm sick of pizza? CMaybe if Vanier had more events, it would make school a little less of as

go get the autorisation to have the first month's money and I was late to pay

Some of the tutors in MSC shouldn't be tutoring… 1If the MSC had more computers, it could be great because during UB, it's

hard for students without computers to be able to do their school work, a

good example, webworks! 1

An orientation day should be done for the new students coming from high

school. Show the different part of the building, how to find your class, where

to do your student card, where to buy the books, the N building… Personally

the first week I had no clue where was the N, I had no clue we could buy

books before we start school and where was the bookstore, I had no clue we

had to do a student card and where to go, also the lockers I didn't know we

had to ask for one through omnivox, so the only one I could have was in the

N-Building which is not useful in my case... It is possible to manage by asking

students, but it would be way easier for us if we would know before. If it's

possible we should have another silent caf and maybe not in the N-Building

would be more accessible to everyone and more space because it's always

fail I always had to ask the IT people to sign out a computer when no one

was around. Also perhaps it shouldn't be enforced, but suggested that

students who have access to their own computers should not be occupying

space on the school computers. I have witnessed a student working on their

own computer while seated in front of a computer station and evidently not

using the station at all. 1I think Vanier College should offer advanced courses to science AND social

science students, such as Advanced Calculus or Mathematics. 1

The students of Computer Science Technology should have two labs because

often the computers in the only lab are not enough for students. 1

Find a way to sell us water. 1Have more computers available. (another study area with access to

computers) 1

Although we do appreciate a lot that Vanier College has provided us muslims

with our own prayer room, the Muslim prayer room should be a bit bigger,

considering the amount of Muslims that are student at Vanier college that

pray on a daily basis, we would appreciate more space. Regards 1I think there should be more spaces to be between the classes like in the N-

Building, the quiet cafeteria is really peacefull but not enough of spaces. The

library should have more laptops availabels because the computers are

easily all occupied. More space to be with the laptops would be appreciable

too.Fix the doors on the 4th floor of the library so that they do not make so

much noise every single time they are opened, it is so distracting. 1Inform students on issues so that discussion can ensue and a decision can be
