steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in

II John 9“Whosoever transgresseth, and

abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that

abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the

Son.”

The Jerusalem Example

I. APOSTLES’ DOCTRINEII John 1:10

“If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive

him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:”

Our emphasis must always be on Bible doctrine!!

definition of fellowship.I Corinthians 3:9

“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for

unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with

darkness?”

The Jerusalem Example

III. Breaking of BreadThis was & is an important part of

the worship service.Acts 20:7

“And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came

together to break bread…”

The Jerusalem Example

III. Breaking of BreadThis is partaking of the Lord’s

supper or communion service.

The Jerusalem example was to “continue stedfastly” in

doing this.

The Jerusalem Example

III. Breaking of BreadI Corinthians 11:26

“For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till He comes.”

It is sad that many have lost sight of the importance of the Lord’s

supper.

The Jerusalem Example

IV. PrayerPrayer keeps us close to God &

accomplishes muchJames 5:16

“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for

another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a

righteous man avails much.”

The Jerusalem Example

IV. PrayerPrayer keeps us close to God &

accomplishes muchJames 5:16

“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for

another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a

righteous man avails much.”

The Jerusalem Example

IV. PrayerI Thessalonians 5:17

“Pray without ceasing.”

The Jerusalem example was to pray constantly.

Acts 12.5 “Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.”

The Jerusalem Example
