After the loss of a loved one, a woman must face the shattering memories of a past trauma. Crash is the fractured unraveling of memory; blending projections, myth, and dance into a riveting narrative about family, faith and love. “Can’t remember isn’t the same as forget. Forget is, don’t want to remember. Can’t remember is, don’t want to forget.”

Theatre Passe Muraille is thrilled to remount Pamela Sinha’s tour de force solo show, with six nominations and four Dora Mavor Moore Awards including Outstanding New Play and Performance by a Female in a Principal Role.

Infused with the rhythm and passion of Bollywood music and dance, Same Same But Different is comprised of two intersecting stories that take you behind the scenes of Indian cinema.

In the first story, Canadian born Bollywood starlet Aisha confronts her own prejudices about nationality, skin colour and family – and realizes that her dreams of stardom won’t come without sacrifice. The second explores the story of Aisha’s mother, Kabira, and her own life-changing encounter with the world of Bollywood.

Life, Death and The Blues is a concert/theatre hybrid created by Gemini nominated actor and Maple Blues Award winning musician Raoul Bhaneja. It combines autobiography, interview, live music and YouTube spread over a multimedia canvas that explores the power, passion and meaning of The Blues.

The story chronicles our narrator’s journey from boy to man, within this musical genre. With 15 years experience as a professional “bluesman,” Raoul offers audiences a personal and guided tour of his own life as an artist and a living history of The Blues.

Founded in 1968, Theatre Passe Muraille is Canada’s oldest theatre company developing and producing new Canadian work. Theatre Passe Muraille operates out of a designated historical building; the former Nasmith Bakery and Stables. But true to name, productions also take place “beyond walls” at site-specific locations across Toronto.

Theatre Passe Muraille is known for developing innovative and daring Canadian theatre, but we exist to support our communities. From encouraging independent and emerging artists, and multicultural work, to inspiring our staff and artists to work collaboratively, Theatre Passe Muraille works to ensure all voices are represented on our stage.
