Located by Peekskill Bay on Maria Amodeo is the founder of LACakes LLC, which is located in Yorktown Heights NY, Westchester County. She has been a resident of Yorktown Heights for 8 years. Maria has 2 children & 3 grandchildren.

Maria has always had a creative hand and eye for design. She always kept herself busy with some kind of craft, whether it was beaded flowers or clay figurines. Maria’s #1 passion was in the kitchen creating one of her delicious pies or cakes. Maria has expanded her artistic talents into cake decorating; all of her baking is given special attention and personal touch. They are glamorous in design on the outside and delicious light moist cake on the inside.

While working with fondant is not an easy task, Maria has also perfected the art of making her own flowers to make her designer cakes even more special. She found so much enjoyment in doing this; Maria also holds cake decorating classes at the Yorktown Parks & Recreation center. Maria also gives one on one private lessons.

She has made so many occasion special for her customers, from young children to golden anniversary. Maria’s cakes are the crowning glory for any occasion. No center piece or decoration is necessary when one of laCakes desserts is place on the table.

LACakes LLC recently branched out as a distributor for Marvelous Molds & First Impression’s design molds.

County Executive Rob Astorino presented Joe Visconti, president of the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce, with a proclamation in honor of Joe’s tenure as president of the Chamber. During Joe’s incredible tenure as president, Joe grew the membership from 140 to over 400 members as a result of his advocacy on behalf of the Yorktown Business Community. We congratulate Joe and his lovely wife Roxanne on this very special day.

The Chamber SpotlightEAGLE AWARDS & TROPHY CO. INC. is a company that has been around this area since 1981 serving the various schools, businesses as well as the military.

We are proud to say that all of our work is currently done on site.

We are able to supply our customers with awards, trophies, plaques, promotional items as well as silk screened & embroi-dered garments to meet their needs

For the military we are able to supply them with Challenge coins plaques and bullion patches that are currently used by U.S. Military Academy at West Point and the U.S. Military Academy Pep School as well as the US Army Reserve units in the area.

First I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year. I hope everyone had a healthy holiday season. I am honored to become the new president of the Chamber of Commerce and am looking forward to working with all businesses in the Town of Yorktown and all civic organizations to make Yorktown a better place. Thank you to the board of directors of the Chamber for all of their hard work as the Costco plans are moving forward extremely well. There are many new things that the Chamber of Commerce will be moving forward with and we are hoping, within the next month, to have our own TV channel on Optimum and Verizon that will be highlighting all of our Chamber member’s business throughout the course of the year. I am looking forward to implementing new ideas with our networking meetings through social media and email blasts.

I am very much in favor of an open door policy of any new ideas to move the Chamber’s message forward to help any and all businesses in the town of Yorktown. Please remember

our networking meeting for January is the 12th at Solaris Sports Clubs at 201 Veterans Road at 6pm. This is free to all Chamber members.

I would like to thank the outgoing president, Joe Visconti and Vice President, Mike Popp, and the board of directors for all of their hard work for making the Chamber what it is today and I look forward to working with the administrative staff , Nancy and Margaret. Expanded and Updated Meeting Room Available for Rental to Chamber Members Having undergone an extensive expansion and technology updating, the Conference Room offered for rent by your Yorktown Chamber of Commerce, is now available for your meeting needs for as many as 50 people, according to Joe Visconti, President.

“This has been a great option for our members for some time now,” said Visconti in making the announcement, “but now we can accommodate as many as 50 people which is a great improvement over our former 30-person capacity.”

Further Visconti noted that the Chamber will be installing a new Epson wireless projector suspended from the ceiling that is able to project images from any laptop or PC wirelessly.
