The use of PVC window and door profiles is increasingly popular: it is a market which has been gaining reputationfor several decades, thanks to continuous improvements in manufacturing technology, and in the materials and ac-cessories used for assembly and installation. OTLAV has focused its research in this area since the start of the 1970s, when the first hinges dedicated to this spe-cific market segment were manufactured.

The OTLAV rangeof hinges for PVC has always been designed and produced prioritizingmaximum reliability and stability over time.

Highly accurate precision giving significant advantage.OTLAV® started up in 1956: from this early beginning the business has constantly grown and it is now a leader in the global

market. Growing and expanding the range of specific products for PVC remains an important challenge, a direction taken

at the start of the 1970s. Design of the adjustable hinge was a turning point distinguishing OTLAV®; the challenge began

more than 20 years ago with the first production of Exacta®, OTLAV®’s three-dimensional adjustable hinge. The range of

hinges stands out for its quality and reliability and is the result of the dedication and passion with which the company car-

ries out its business: the objective is not only to meet the business goals but also the needs of the customers allowing the

company to progress forward successfully.

Designed to save significant time in installing windows and doors, the hinges have achieved an unparalleled success in the

global market. A wide range of brass, aluminium and ABS caps are available allowing the finished appearance of windows

and doors to be customized.

A journey of unrivalled quality.All stages of manufacturing are carried out internally at

OTLAV®, at the plants in Santa Lucia di Piave, in Italy, and in

Ludus, in Romania.

The search for increasingly high quality standards has led

OTLAV® to develop its own technologies related to zinc and

plastic coating of the hinges.

Quality control is constant and accurate in every stage of

manufacturing and both electronic checks and direct checks

carried out by qualified personnel in all stages of manufactur-

ing are employed.

The manufacturing plants are the jewel of the OTLAV® philos-

ophy: they are constantly monitored by state-of-the-art com-

puter systems which ensure large savings on an industrial

scale. At the same time the personnel are continuously trained

and updated to ensure they are the protagonists in the suc-

cess of the products in the OTLAV® brand.

OTLAV® has developed a wide and well defined range of coloured hinges for PVC windows anddoors, available as standard products, for minimum quantities or on request for particular production requirements. This is a deliberate decision to keep pace with the needs of both construction companies and designers.

The use of colours certainly characterizes and defines an object and it is often a fundamental element in the development of an architectural project. Exposure to one colour rather than another affects both formal and mentalperception: it is for this reason that OTLAV values colour as a tool, because it can improve the quality and the liveability of current and future architectural projects.
