The Budgerigar Society. Society administrator: Grant Findlay, The Budgerigar Society, 6 Toutie Street, Alyth, Blairgowrie, Perthshire, PH11 8BP. Phone:- 01828 633030 www.budgerigarsociety.com

1. This show is held under the Show rules of the Budgerigar Society.

2. The exhibitors may state a price (excluding cage) on entry form at which they wish to sell their exhibits in normal (ie not sales) classes. Birds not for sale can be marked ‘NFS’. Sales must be effected through the Show Secretary before 2.30pm Sunday. In the event of more than one claimant, birds will be sold to the highest bidder at 3.00pm. Any excess of the price stated on the entry form will be equally divided between the Society and the seller.

all birds offered for sale must be owner bred and close rung with the exhibitors own official BS ring.

3. The organisers reserve the right to appoint extra judges if necessary.

4. Birds entered in wrong classes are entirely at owner’s risk. Entries unaccompanied by entry fees cannot be accepted. If birds are not sent, entry fee will be forfeited. No alterations can be allowed on any entry form after it is received by the Show Secretary.

5. All birds to be lifted under the supervision of the Show Management.

Lifting time to 4.00pm on Sunday 17th November.

6. The officials will not be responsible for errors should they occur in the schedule, catalogue or award sheet. Prices of birds as per entry forms.

7. The officials will make arrangements for the care of all specimens sent for exhibition, but will not be responsible for any loss or damage to the birds, cages, boxes, etc. that may happen from any cause whatsoever during the exhibition, or to and from the exhibition. Exhibitors may send their exhibits with confidence as most careful arrangements will be made for the proper care of all exhibits sent. All exhibits are entered at owner’s risk.

8. no person shall be allowed to remove from the staging any exhibit except in the presence of a member of the Show Management and only after judging has been completed.

9. Cages must be entered with seed in. Water may be given by the exhibitor

10. photographing of exhibits is permissible following completion of judging but under no circumstances should flash photography be used and cages must not be touched or the exhibits removed from the staging.

1. Please, you must not, so do not, remove any exhibit from the staging before lifting time. This could be the most crucial time of the Show!

2. You should have received your entry form; if not, collect and check.

3. You may collect your own birds, then either follow step 4 or 5, depending on the size of your team.

4. If you can carry all birds in one go, make your way to the exit point, form an orderly queue and have your birds booked out in turn, at one of the booking-out tables.

5. OR, if your team is large, collect all of your birds in a neat pile away from the exit, so that all of the cage labels are visible. Find a pair of booking-out stewards who will check your birds and sign the entry form. Then one steward will escort you and some of your birds to a separate exit; this will be done as many times as is necessary until all your team is out of the show hall. The other steward will stay with your remaining birds in the hall. As the last of your team leave the hall, the steward will hand over your entry form to the security person on the exit.

6. Official booking-out stewards will have badges on, or similar.

We are trying to ease the congestion always made by ‘those other fanciers’ at lifting times. please take your time and if you can spare an hour to help tidy up after the show we would be grateful.

1. That this competition shall be called the Premier Area Breeders Contest and shall be open to area societies only.

2. That the Young Bird Specials list in each section at the Show shall be used to ascertain winners.

3. That the three highest awards for each area in each section only shall count towards totals, with five bonus points for best in section.

4. Each section will be judged down to 20 places, with 20 points for the first bird, 19 for the second, 18 points for the third and so on.

5. That any area society member shall automatically be entered into the competition for their area of residence, providing they are paid up members of that area society.

6. That a PABC secretary shall be nominated who shall be wholly responsible to the Show Secretary for the completion of this competition.

7. That, in the event of a tie, result to be decided by the removal of the last placed team and reallocation of points.

8. That the winners will be announced at the trophy presentation at the BS World Championship Show.

The sales section has always been one of the

main attractions of the Show. To many it’s

the first port of call. There’s no doubt about

it, this is the place to sell your surplus stock.

Buyers know that the birds almost invariably

come from serious breeders who have

showing in mind and will be bred by the

exhibitor offering them for sale.

This year we are introducing another cage

label which exhibitors can place at the

bottom right hand side of the cage. This will

allow exhibitors in the Sales classes to add

pedigree information if so wished. hopefully

this will assist potential buyers when

choosing their purchases.

To assist with the ring checking of Sales

Birds, which is done to ensure all are owner

bred, exhibitors in the Sales classes will be

asked to complete a “Self declaration form”

which will be sent with the cage labels.

This form must be completed with the

information requested on the form and the

completed form handed over to the booking

in steward when the birds are benched.

great sales opportunity!
