Building site preparationThe first item of business is to select foundation style for your Woody cabin.If your are installing your cabin as a Permanent Structure certain no building code requirements may be necessary. The Woody can also be installed as a Portable Structure

Woody log cabin floor deck preparationJust like when building a house a wooden platform needs is built. We call this the 1st floor “deck”. Normal building practices are employed when creating the floor deck. Cabintek will supply you with a materials list of lumber required to complete the deck.

Some folks choose to build the cabin on a concrete slab This is call slab on grade construction. This process is very similar to installing a concrete slab when building a detached garage. Our design team will discuss and make recommendations regarding the best foundation style for you.

The plumbing has to be located before the slab is poured

Any building needs a floor to build on!

Step 1: Phase 1 log kit installationSnap 2 reference lines on the floor deck. These lines will allow you to locate the building anchor bolts, the log starter plate and the foundation flashing.Each Woody building comes with a layout diagram specific to you building

Special parts are included if you will be using a concrete as the floor deck (slab on grade construction)

Step 2: Phase 1 log kit installationAt each anchor bolt set the vertical log columns. Brace as required


Step 3: Phase 1 log kit installationBetween the vertical logs stack thewall logs as required.

Step 4: Phase 1 log kit installationInstall the windows in any “bay” you like. Even change location on the job. The windows can be completely installed in a matter of minutes. Just slide into place. The installation is guaranteed air tight and the kit includes flashing, and the interior window stool (sill).


Step 5: Phase 1 log kit installationInstall the assembled door frame kit at the door locations which will make easy the installation of standard exterior doors.

Phase 2 materials installation-Insulate the roofInstall roof insulation in the rafter cavity and install the roof sheathing which gets you ready to complete the “Dry In” Now complete the interior plumbing, electrical and interior door and cabinet installation at your leisure.
