The Hardy Heartline We’re the Church with a Warm Heart October 2013 Last week I was coming back from lunch with my family and there was a group gathered around my parked car. As I came up on the distraught family, I felt a sinking feeling in my stomach. They had backed into my car. Life never really goes the way I planned it. We stroll along the sidewalks thinking our day is going one way when all of the sudden we are awakened from our lackadaisical dream to the unexpected. Then what do we do? But the real truth is worse. I don’t just have a take on how the day is going to go; I find myself on the sidewalk often with the ridiculous belief that I am controlling how it will turn out. In the Book of Joshua God often says these words, “See how I will deliver...” I have often found that when I am in control I don’t take the word of the Lord to heart. I don’t take into account how God is going to show up in my life. I hope it doesn’t always require a car wreck for me to wake up and realize it. These next few weeks I invite you to join me for Worship on Sunday and Bible Studies during the week to walk down the road of the book of Joshua with our eyes wide open. God waited for the Israelites to walk down the sidewalk of the wilderness for forty years, and one day he woke them up and told them to cross the river Jordan into the land of Cana. We’re the Church with a Warm Heart

    October 2013

Last week I was coming back from lunch with my family and there was a group gathered

around my parked car. As I came up on the distraught family, I felt a sinking feeling in my stomach. They had backed into my car.

Life never really goes the way I planned it. We stroll along the sidewalks thinking our day

is going one way when all of the sudden we are awakened from our lackadaisical dream to the unexpected. Then what do we do?

But the real truth is worse. I don’t just have a take on how the day is going to go; I find myself on the sidewalk often with the ridiculous belief that I am controlling how it will

turn out. In the Book of Joshua God often says these words, “See how I will deliver...” I have often found that when I am in control I don’t take the word of the Lord to heart. I

don’t take into account how God is going to show up in my life. I hope it doesn’t always

require a car wreck for me to wake up and realize it.

These next few weeks I invite you to join me for Worship on Sunday and Bible Studies during the week to walk down the road of the book of Joshua with our eyes wide open.

God waited for the Israelites to walk down the sidewalk of the wilderness for forty years, and one day he woke them up and told them to cross the river Jordan into the land of

Cana. His only expectation, that they look to see what He was going to do.

    Grace & Peace
