DESCRIPTION

There is no story like the one which is transferred to you with the warmth and care of its narrator. So in this, the VISIONS issue, we aim to spark in you an interest to discover those stories (and those narrators) which are native to your home—wherever that may be. Have a thoroughly good look around and at the people in it. What has changed? What has evolved? What will become of it? And remember... enjoy the stories.

Welcome back!

Friday the 13th traditionally gets people jittery.13, however, is my lucky number and any Friday the 13th that comes along is a fortuitous holiday. This year gives me cause to celebrate one more thing: the 13th year of working on my first ever sto-ry-telling project: the Legacy of Greece. When I was young(er), every summer was spent back home seeing the family, exploring the islands, swimming a few kilometers every morning in the untamed sea while enjoying the best of home-made food every chance made available. And when I first became interested in photography it was only natural that I try to document everything and everyone around me. I wanted not only to capture an image but to understand the true essence of what I was photographing, and it has led me to meet some very unique characters along the way. Men and women (and even children) with rich, mind-opening stories; they shared their experiences with me, some of which I could relate to, some of which made me nostalgic for an era I thought I knew and understood, and some of which I would never be able to fully understand no matter how hard I tried.
