A creative oasis set amongst stunning old river gum trees, in the scenic Chapman Valley, you will find Nukara Farm. From the moment you enter the tree-lined driveway your senses will come alive and will wrap your soul in peaceful serenity.

Located a short, scenic drive from Geraldton this truly unique venue with huge camping grounds is a place where you and your guests can relax and unwind.

Having your event at Nukara gives you run of the property, from the bush tub to the rustic hand-built stone and timber Barn which is kitted out with a commercial kitchen suitable for the chef or caterer of your choice, high ceilings, open gardens, extensive deck, fireplace and an undercover stage.

From rocky outcrops to golden fields you will find the property offers many beautiful locations. Our exclusive hire, allows you and your guests the opportunity to fully experience the tranquillity of Nukara, enjoy the sprawling grounds, native flora and fauna and camp under a billion stars.

Why Nukara?

Through a labour of love and a love of our natural environment we have worked together to create Nukara.

Our relaxed rustic, bush setting has been enhanced with unique infrastructure, constructed predominantly with recycled materials that blend in and flow with the natural surrounds.

In 2006/2007 we spent a year building the main Barn area, ablution block and small stage in time for our own wedding. No pressure like building the venue for your wedding and it was a huge celebration with our family and friends who had supported us on this special journey.

This followed with utilising the space for a small blues and roots festival, Nukara Music Festival. Thirteen years on, the anual Festival attracts more than a thousand people from all over the world.

Nukara has evolved over the past 15 years into a very special venue that is totally enveloped in nature.

Meet the Blakeways

Left: Where it all began in 1990, a simple bar style structure commonly became know as the Nanson Pub. Community would gather to enjoy a few weekend ales.

Right: Nukara today - a place where people celebrate their marriage, gather to embrace well being retreats of all descriptions, corporate groups gather and camps experience the wide open wildness.

Surrounded by lush flora and fauna, Fox Dam was man made in 1990. The space provided families the opportunity to gather in a bush setting and enjoy a range of outdoor activities including the Flying Fox, Canoeing, Paddle Boarding and Swimming. Fox Dam is now a popular event location as hosts take advantage of being able to spend time in the sunshine, relax by the sound of water and breathe fresh air. All these benefits assist the body to work more efficiently and reduce forms of stress.Fox Dam features a unique rustic gazebo with BBQ facilities, tables and seating. Ablutions are located a scenic 30 metre walk away.

This secluded event area is hidden amongst old river gums and is designed to bring your senses alive. Offering a large unique undercover hut with large gas barbecue and esky, plenty of built in tables & chairs, you can make the most of enjoying the outdoors or be pretected from the weather. A large Pizza Oven adds a touch of warmth and brings the taste buds alive or enjoy a soothing bath in the stone Hot Tub. Amenities are a short scenic 50 metre stroll over the timber bridge along with extensive camping grounds.

The only time you can camp at Nukara is when you are attending an event. People say that Nukara is one of the most peaceful, tranquil and senses activating experiences they have had! An abundance of flora and fauna can be seen and varies from season to season and you will be treated to sleeping under a billion stars.

Camping is permitted with any venue booking however we do not take site bookings. The camping grounds are big enough to accommodate anything from a camp bed or swag to extra large buses.

Some camp beds and tents are available for hire.

Camping fees are the responsibility of the hirer & to be placed in the Fee Box in Barn Area.

Crockery, cutlery, glassware, table cloths, chair covers, and other additional items are not included in the venue hire.

If you are looking for a fabulous venue for a yoga retreat then Nukara is perfect. So far we have held 3 yoga retreats at Nukara and with help from the owners Donna and Phil each one has been a huge success.

The kitchen/dinning area is well set up for catering and feeding a large crowd.

One of the many highlights is at the end of the day all the yogis get to spend time soaking in the large spring fed, wood fired hot tub out under the stars accompanied by the chorus of croaking frogs. This is pre arranged as the fire is tended lovingly by Phil all day to get the water just right foronce the sun goes down.

Initially I was a little concerned that people may not want to camp out but this has proved to be a draw card. Everybody enjoys getting out into the natural environment away from their busy city lives. There is always something mesmerising and meditative about sitting around a big camp fire with amazing like minded yogis.

Event Set DownWhile we employ friendly cleaner’s, it is the responsibility of the hirers to ensure all areas are left in a clean state or extra cleaning costs will be incurred and deducted from your bond. The kitchen must be left in a clean state with floors mopped and benches wiped down. The Barn area must be swept. Cigarette butts and bottle tops to be cleaned up from outside grassed & gravel areas.

What does Nukara Exclusive Hire include?Weekend BookingWeekend Nukara Exclusive Hire provides you with a 3-day booking including Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There are no restrictions and plenty of opportunities for gathering with your guests during this time. Your booking includes exclusive use of the Bush Tub, Fox Dam, The Barn, Public Amenities and Camping Grounds.

How many guests does Nukara allow?Depending on the style of your event will determine the number of guests. There are several areas you can utilise to hold your celebrations and we’d be delighted to show you around on a site visit as the number of guests per area will vary depending on how you’d like to set it up. The small area seats up to 100 guests while the larger area seats up to 160 guests. However cocktail style weddings will allow for up to 500 people.

Can Nukara be booked for music festivals?Yes, however please enquire regarding the size and duration of your festival for pricing.

Is there a bus charter available? Yes, there are several options available. Please visit our Website: www.nukarafarm.com.au, Local Products and Services page for full details.

Is there accommodation nearby for our guests?There is one chalet available otherwise, Nukara is conveniently located just 25-minute drive away from Geraldton. Contact the Geraldton Visitor Centre for more info.

Is camping allowed?Camping is available with the option of venue hire only. Our unpowered camping grounds are big enough for guests to bring their travel buses, caravans, campers are simply a tent or swag. Most evenings offer a view of a billion stars for your guests to enjoy. Camping is $10 per adult and $5 per child. Guests are welcome to bring generators if they choose.

Are open pit fires allowed?Nukara boasts unique fire places for guests to enjoy between April and September. Otherwise there is a strict NO FIRE policy.

What are the bathroom facilities for guests?Nukara boasts unique bathroom facilities including male, female and disability rooms. The male and female rooms offer 2 heated bag showers and 2 toilets. The rooms are big enough for those wanting to finish getting ready for the big day including large mirrors and tiled floors.

Do you have staff on site to assist?No, Nukara is venue hire only; we don’t have staff employed on site. Someone will be available to assist you on your arrival, various times throughout the hire and for emergencies, but not in attendance.

Can someone set up the wedding, decorations, table settings etc?While we don’t have staff on-site at Nukara, we can recommend several experienced wedding organisers that will work with you to design your perfect day. Can we supply our own food or caterers?Yes, Nukara is fully self-catered so you may supply your own food and alcohol or hire a caterer/chef to arrange this for you. Our commercial kitchen is well established with large ovens, fridges and plenty of work space. Please let us know if you are self-catering so we can arrange for a kitchen run-through prior the event.

Frequently Asked QuestionsIs there fresh drinking water available? Yes, rainwater is available but you will need to supply your own bottles, glasses and carafes.

Can we supply our own alcohol?Yes, Nukara is fully self-catered so you may take advantage of selecting and purchasing your own beverage list. Is there room for a dance floor? Do we need to put down flooring?While there is not a wooden dance floor, there are plenty of options for dancing areas both inside and outside of The Barn.

Can we have rose petals, rice, confetti etc?Sorry, strictly no rice or confetti. Fresh flower petals are permitted but you are responsible for the clean up afterwards.

Are there any shoe restrictions?While there are no shoe restrictions, Nukara is farming ground. We recommend sensible footwear and advise against stilettos as the ground is uneven and difficult to navigate outside of the function areas.

Are children permitted at Nukara?Children are most welcome however they must have adult supervision always due to water danger of unfenced creeks and dams.

Can we bring our pets?The bride and groom may wish to include a significant pet in their photography sessions however they cannot spend the night at Nukara. We have a strict NO DOG policy at Nukara for any guests.
