The first weekend of May marked some of the first warm days ofspring, small harvests from the garden and slowly budding fruittrees.

The Ashram Hosts Swami Radha’s First Centenary

Pilgrimage

The weekend also brought 11 pilgrims on a journey from theRadha Centre in Spokane to the Ashram. This pilgrimage wasthe first in honour of Swami Radha’s 100th birthday. Groups allover the world are invited to plan their own unique pilgrimages tothe Ashram to be part of our celebration year to March 2012.

The Spokane group spent the weekend in workshops, dance andquiet reflection on Swami Radha’s life and commitment. ForMegan Mulaney, the trip was an opportunity “to get grounded, feelcentered and be with people that I respect very much. I’m able to

108 Sun Salutations Fundraiser a Success!

Thanks to the support of all our sponsors and donors we wereable to raise $7525 for the Young Adult Program!

Fifteen enthusiastic participants gathered on May 1st for 108 sunsalutations and many others tuned in online or participated fromtheir homes. It was a beautiful morning, with bright sunlight tosalute, and many took their mats outdoors. The event wounddown by 12:30pm as blissfully tired participants finished up theirfinal salutations, grateful for their sponsors and their opportunityto give back to the program that has been life-changing for somany.

A warm heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated ordonated!

Thank you to all our Donors Swami Radha was always so generous with the Teachings, andwe continue to be the beneficiaries. In that same spirit, ourdonors continue to give generously to support the Ashram so thatthose who come can be renewed and inspired. Some of theprojects in the last 5 months made possible through gifted fundsinclude:

Designing and printing of Swami Radhananda’s 2 newbooks and supporting her book tours

Formatting former timeless titles, audio and videos

Offering more bursaries for YDC 2011 for young adults andincreasing participation in our Young Adult Program

The Glass Seed by Eileen Delehanty Pearkes has recently beenshortlisted for the One Book One Kootenay region-wide bookclub, celebrating local writers of the Kootenay-Boundary throughpublic libraries.
