    The Unique Prophet:

    Prophet Mohammud

    (SAW)

    All praises are for AllahSWT

who created human beings and also arranged fo

their complete guidance, through different Prophets in different times.

)(You are only a warner, and for every people is a guide (Surah 13 Ayah

    (:42)

Indeed, We have sent you with the truth as a bringer of good tidings an

a warner. And there was no nation but that there had passed within it a

    warner. (Surah 35 Ayah 24)

All the Prophets were also human beings who received revelations throug

    the angels from AllahSWT

    .

    ...

(:90) And We sent not before you [as messengers] except men to whom We

revealed from among the people of cities (Surah 12 Ayah 109)

KEY1. SWT---Pure, Flawless, Full of Glory.

    2. SAW--- May AllahSWT

sends His Blessings and Mercy upon Him

    3. AS--- May Allahs Mercy be upon Him

The responsibility of the Prophets was to convey the message (revelations

to the people, to teach and help, as to how to obey and practice the Divine

Revelations. All the Prophets taught the same basic belief i.e. to believe in

    the Oneness of AllahSWT

(God), to worship Him and be obedient to AllahSWT

    alone.

And We sent not before you any messenger except that We revealed to

him that, "There is no deity except Me, so worship Me."

    (Surah 21 Ayah 25)

    ... (:63)

And We certainly sent into every nation a messenger, [saying], "Worsh

Allah and avoid Taghut." (Surah16 Ayah36)

A Muslim should believe in all the prophets and all the revelations the

prophets received. Apart from that, a Muslim should believe that all the

prophets are equal, and should not compare and consider one prophet as

higher or superior than the other.

    ... (:45)

We make no distinctionbetween any of His messengers.

    (Surah 2 Ayah 285)

Since the creation of humanity, AllahSWT

    has appointed several prophets

among the people, in different parts of the world. Some of them are

mentioned by name in the Holy Quran, most of them are not.

    (:932)

And [We sent] messengers about whom We have related [their stories] you before and messengers about whom We have not related to you.

And Allah spoke to Moses with [direct] speech.

    (Surah 4 Ayah 164)

    ...(:5)

And We have already sent messengers before you. Among them are

those [whose stories] We have related to you, and among them are thos

[whose stories] We have not related to you

    (Surah 40 Ayah 78)

There are four famous books revealed to different prophets, whose namesare mentioned in the Holy Quran.

    1. Zaboor revealed to Prophet DavidAS

    (DawoodAS

    )

    2. Torah revealed to Prophet MosesAS

    (MoosaAS

    )

    3. Injeel (Bible) revealed to Prophet JesusAS (EesaAS)

    4. Quran revealed to the last Prophet MohammudSAW

All the above books (except the last book, the Holy Quran) have been lost

and are now in the form of changed books. None of them can be

considered as Divine Revelation any more. But the last revelation, the Hol

Quran is still in the same, complete and original form as it was revealed, to

the last prophetof Islam, the Prophet Mohammud

    SAWfourteen hundred

    years ago.

    (:)

    7

Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be its

    guardian. (Surah 15 Ayah 9)

The main reason of the preservation of this Book is that AllahSWT

    Himself

wanted it to be in its original form. All the previous books were revealed fo

a particular nation and for a particular period. The Holy Quran was not

revealed for any particular nation such as Arabs or non-Arabs nor was it

revealed for a particular time or period. The Holy Quran was revealed for

the whole humanity, i.e. for the people who live during prophets time as

well as those who will come after His death, till the Day of Judgment.

    (:9)

Blessed is He who sent down the Criterion upon His Servant that he ma

be to the worlds a warner (Surah 25 Ayah 1)

    (:6.)

And [to] others of them who have not yet joined them. And He is the

Exalted in Might, the Wise. (Surah 62 Ayah 3)

    The Prophet MohammudSAW

was the last prophet and no other prophet or

revelation is to come. The preservation of the Holy Quran in its original

    8

    form, after the Prophet MohammudSAW

, was extremely essential for the

guidance of the rest of the humanity.

Apart from that, the life of the Prophet MohammudSAW

    (who is the true

follower of the Holy Quran) is also well preserved, in writing, in the most

authentic books called, Bukhari and Muslim. InshaAllah, I will explain

    this later on.

Before I write about the life of the Prophet MohammudSAW

    , I would like to

inform you about a few famous prophets that the Holy Quran speaks abou

    (1) ADAMAS

    AllahSWT

    has created AdamAS

as the first human being who came to this

world without a father or mother. The rest of humanity is HisAS

    offspring.

AdamAS himself was created with clay.

    (:94)

And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay.

    (Surah 23 Ayah 12)

    AdamsAS

    wife EveAS

    was created from HisAS

rib. He is considered the father

    of humanity. AllahSWT

call us the children of AdamAS

    .

  • 7/29/2019 The Unique Prophet

    9/89

    9

    (:6.)

O children of Adam, if there come to you messengers from among you

relating to you My verses, then whoever fears Allah and reforms - ther

will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.

    (Surah 7 Ayah 35)

    ...(:9)

O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created

from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and

    women (Surah 4 Ayah 1)

    Apart from that AllahSWT

    has appointed AdamAS

as the first Khalifatullah(Vice-regent/Representative) of Allah

SWTas well as the first prophet of Islam

    on earth.

  • 7/29/2019 The Unique Prophet

    10/89

    10

    ...(:60)

And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels,

"Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority

    (Surah 2 Ayah 30)

    A surprising incident for AdamAS

    , after HeAS

    was created and AllahSWT

    blew

    HISSWT

    soul in HimAS

    , was that AllahSWT

ordered all the angels to prostrate t

    HimAS.

Then He proportioned him and breathed into him from His [created] souand made for you hearing and vision and hearts; little are you grateful

    (Surah 32 Ayah 9)

...(:62) And [mention] when We said to the angels, "Prostrate before Adam"; s

they prostrated (Surah 2 Ayah 34)

  • 7/29/2019 The Unique Prophet

    11/89

    11

    AllahSWT

    asked AdamAS

    and His wife (EveAS

) to live in heaven and eat

whatever they liked, but warned them not to go close to a particular tree

otherwise they will be among the disobedient.

    (:6)

And We said, "O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eattherefrom in [ease and] abundance from wherever you will. But do not

approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers."] (Surah 2 Ayah

    35)

But the devil succeeded, by deceiving and convincing them to disobey

AllahSWT. Then AllahSWT removed them from the comfortable place they

    were in.

    ...(:63)

But Satan caused them to slip out of it and removed them from that[condition] in which they had been (Surah 2 Ayah 36)

    AdamAS

and Eve did not know how to ask for forgiveness, for the mistake. S

    AllahSWT

    taught them the followingdua.

  • 7/29/2019 The Unique Prophet

    12/89

    12

    (:46.)

They said, "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not

forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among thelosers."(Surah 7 Ayah 23)

    AllahSWT

forgave both of them, because HeSWT

    is Most Forgiving and

    Merciful.

(:6) Then Adam received from his Lord [some] words, and He accepted his

repentance. Indeed, it is He who is the Accepting of repentance, the

    Merciful.

    (Surah 2 Ayah 37)

(This makes it very clear that the misunderstood and wrong belief of

original sin committed by Eve, is transferred to and carried out by the res

of the humanity, is nothing but a misguided belief without foundation. A

    a matter of fact, AdamAS

    and EveAS

    both committed the mistake. AllahSWT

has already forgiven the sins of both AdamAS

    and EveAS

    . So there was no

sin to be transferred to or carried out by anyone.)

  • 7/29/2019 The Unique Prophet

    13/89

    13

After the forgiveness of both Adam and EveAS

    , ALLAHSWT

    asked both of the

to go down, live on earth and believe in HIMSWT

as the only One Creator of

the universe, and obey and worship HIMSWT

    alone. This was the main

purpose of the creation of humanity.

    (:3).

And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me

    (Surah 51 Ayah 56)

We said, "Go down from it, all of you. And when guidance comes to yo

from Me, whoever follows My guidance - there will be no fear concernin

    them, nor will they grieve.

They were also told that if they receive any guidance from HIMSWT

    , and if the

followed it, then they will not have any fear or worry in their lives.

    (2) NOAHas

    (NOOHas

    )

  • 7/29/2019 The Unique Prophet

    14/89

    14

    After AdamAS

    , AllahSWT

    appointed NoahAS

    as HISSWT

    prophet on this earth.

    Unlike any other prophet, NoahAS

was granted the age of more than 950years.

    (:92.)

And We certainly sent Noah to his people, and he remained among them

a thousand years minus fifty years, and the flood seized them while the

were wrongdoers. (Surah 29 Ayah 14)

HeAS spent HisAS whole life preaching the truth but unfortunately very few

    people accepted HisAS

    message. HisAS

own wife and son did not believe in

    Hisprophet hood.

After struggling so many years preaching Islam, NoahAS

    was very upset, so

He made a special dua to AllahSWT

asking for the destruction of all the non-believers.

  • 7/29/2019 The Unique Prophet

    15/89

    15

    ( :26)

    ( :27)

And Noah said, "My Lord, do not leave upon the earth from among thedisbelievers an inhabitant. (Surah 71 Ayah 26)

Indeed, if You leave them, they will mislead Your servants and not bege

except [every] wicked one and [confirmed] disbeliever. (Surah 71 Ayah

    27)

AllahSWT accepted HisAS dua and asked HimAS to build an ark to save HimAS

    and the handful of HisAS

    followers, HeAS

had, from the flood which was goin

    to approach soon.

    (:63.)

    (:6)

  • 7/29/2019 The Unique Prophet

    16/89

    16

And it was revealed to Noah that, "No one will believe from your peopl

except those who have already believed, so do not be distressed by wh

they have been doing (Surah 11 Ayah 36)

And construct the ship under Our observation and Our inspiration and

do not address Me concerning those who have wronged; indeed, they

    are [to be] drowned."(Surah 11 ayah 37)

    AllahSWT

    then asked NoahAS

to aboard the ark along with all of HisAS

followers. The torment came in the form of a flood. Water spread all over

and rose as high as the mountains. Eventually everyone (except the people

of the ark) were drowned and immediately faced the fire.

    (:4.)

Because of their sins they were drowned and put into the Fire, and thefound not for themselves besides Allah [any] helpers. (Surah 71, Ayah

    25)

  • 7/29/2019 The Unique Prophet

    17/89

    17

(:32) But they denied him, so We saved him and those who were with him in

the ship. And We drowned those who denied Our signs. Indeed, they

were a blind people. (Surah 7 Ayah 64)

    (:6.)

And they denied him, so We saved him and those with him in the ship

and made them successors, and We drowned those who denied Our

signs. Then see how was the end of those who were warned (Surah 10

    Ayah 73)

The details are in the following Ayahs of the Holy Quran:

(:25) And it was revealed to Noah that, "No one will believe from your peopl

    they have been doing.

And construct the ship under Our observation and Our inspiration and

do not address Me concerning those who have wronged; indeed, they

    are [to be] drowned."

And he constructed the ship, and whenever an assembly of the eminen

of his people passed by him, they ridiculed him. He said, "If you ridicul

us, then we will ridicule you just as you ridicule. And you are going to know who will get a punishment that will disgrac

him [on earth] and upon whom will descend an enduring punishment [i

    the Hereafter]."

[So it was], until when Our command came and the oven overflowed, W

said, "Load upon the ship of each [creature] two mates and your family

except those about whom the word has preceded, and [include] whoeve

has believed." But none had believed with him, except a few.

And [Noah] said, "Embark therein; in the name of Allah is its course an

its anchorage. Indeed, my Lord is Forgiving and Merciful."

And it sailed with them through waves like mountains, and Noah called

to his son who was apart [from them], "O my son, come aboard with us

and be not with the disbelievers."

[But] he said, "I will take refuge on a mountain to protect me from the

water." [Noah] said, "There is no protector today from the decree of Alla, except for whom He gives mercy." And the waves came between them

and he was among the drowned.

And it was said, "O earth, swallow your water, and O sky, withhold [you

rain]." And the water subsided, and the matter was accomplished, and

the ship came to rest on the [mountain of] Judiyy. And it was said, "Awa

    with the wrongdoing people."

And Noah called to his Lord and said, "My Lord, indeed my son is of m

family; and indeed, Your promise is true; and You are the most just of

    judges!"

He said, "O Noah, indeed he is not of your family; indeed, he is [one

whose] work was other than righteous, so ask Me not for that about

which you have no knowledge. Indeed, I advise you, lest you be among

    the ignorant."

[Noah] said, "My Lord, I seek refuge in You from asking that of which

have no knowledge. And unless You forgive me and have mercy upon

me, I will be among the losers."

It was said, "O Noah, disembark in security from Us and blessings upo

you and upon nations [descending] from those with you. But other

nations [of them] We will grant enjoyment; then there will touch them

    from Us a painful punishment."

    (Surah 11 Ayah 36-48)

This unique torment in the form of a flood is a historical event in the histor

    of humanity.

    AllahSWT

says in the Holy Quran that HeSWT

will make this torment as a sign

    and lesson for humanity.

    (:9.)

But We saved him and the companions of the ship, and We made it a

sign for the worlds. (Surah 29 Ayah 15)

    (:99) (:94)

Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the

    sailing ship

That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear

would be conscious of it. (Surah 69 Ayah 11- 12).

    22

    AllahSWT

rose the next generation of humanity, from those few believers

who were saved in the boat from that flood.

    (:29)

And a sign for them is that We carried their forefathers in a laden ship

    (Surah 36 Ayah 41)

    (:.) (:5)

And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth]

And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations

    (Surah 37 Ayah 77-78)

    ------------------------------------

    (3 ) ABRAHAMAS

    (IBRAHEEMAS

    ).

    Prophet AbrahamAS

was a unique prophet who was granted a position at a

very high standard in prophet hood by AllahSWT

    AllahSWT

mentions in several places in the Holy Quran that AbrahamAS

    was

    not a polytheist.

  • 7/29/2019 The Unique Prophet

    23/89

    23

    (:96)

They say, "Be Jews or Christians [so] you will be guided." Say, "Rathe

[we follow] the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth, and he was

not of the polytheists." (Surah 2 Ayah 135)

    (:.)

Say, Allah has told the truth. So follow the religion of Abraham,

inclining toward truth; and he was not of the polytheists." (Surah 3 Aya

    95)

    (:3.)

Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was one inclining

toward truth, a Muslim [submitting to Allah]. And he was not of the

    polytheists.

    (Surah 3 Ayah 67)

  • 7/29/2019 The Unique Prophet

    24/89

    24

    HeAS

passed many difficult tests in HisAS

    life which pleased AllahSWT

    so much

    that HESWT

    declared HimAS

    the Imam (Leader) of mankind.

... And [mention, O Muhammad], when Abraham was tried by his Lord wit

commands and he fulfilled them. [ Allah ] said, "Indeed, I will make you

leader for the people (Surah 2 Ayah 124)

One example of the many tests AbrahamAS

    went through was when HeAS

    was asked by AllahSWT

    to leave HisAS

    wife HajirahAS

    and HisAS

    small child

    IsmaeelAS

in the desert, where there was no one to look after them. There

was no arrangement of food or water to drink. AbrahamAS

    left them with a

small amount of food and water which was hardly enough for two days.

    This obedient servant of AllahSWT

    (having HisAS

    full trust on HisAS

    Creator an

    by obeying HIMSWT

    ) left HisAS

family alone in the desert. Alhamdulillah HisAS

    wife HajirahAS

who was also a pious lady, asked HimAS

    , while HeAS

    was

leaving, "Where are you going, Abraham, leaving us in this barren valley?

    AbrahamAS

did not answer her, but continued walking. She repeated what

    she said, but HeAS

remained silent. Finally, she realized that AllahSWT

    had

commanded him to do this. So she asked Him: "Did AllahSWT

    command you

to do so?" He replied: "Yes." Then HajirahAS

said: "We are not going to be

    lost, since AllahSWT

    , WHOSWT

has commanded you, is with us."When the small supply of food and water ran out Hajirah

    ASsearched for

water by running between the two mountains called Safa and Marwa

seven times, finally with the grace of AllahSWT

    she found water.

  • 7/29/2019 The Unique Prophet

    25/89

    25

This search of water by HajirahAS

was a historical event and has become a

religious obligation for the millions and millions of Muslims throughout the

world forever .This story carries a legacy for the rest of the Muslim world t

    the Day of Judgment.

    (:95.)

Indeed, as-Safa and al-Marwah are among the symbols of Allah . Sowhoever makes Hajj to the House or performs 'umrah - there is no blam

upon him for walking between them. And whoever volunteers good -

then indeed, Allah is appreciative and Knowing. (Surah 2 Ayah 158)

Thus millions and millions of Muslims throughout the world (no matter

where they come from) must imitate Hajirahs

    AS

search of water by goingback and forth seven times, between the same two mountains Safa and

Marwa, whenever they perform the Hajj (the fifth obligation of Islam ) or

Umrah, this will continue till the Day of Judgment.

    Another great test for AbrahamAS

    was in HisAS

    old age. AllahSWT

    ordered

    HimAS

in his dream to sacrifice His only young son IsmaeelAS

    (A dream of

prophet is considered a revelation from Allah

    SWT

    ). Abraham

    AS

    told His

    AS

    beloved son that HeAS

    saw himsacrificing Him

    ASin His

    ASdream. Imagine ho

    HeAS

    must have felt!

    IsmaeelAS

    HisAS

beloved and pious son replied wholeheartedly, "O my fathe

do as you are commanded. You will find me, inshAllah, of the steadfast."

  • 7/29/2019 The Unique Prophet

    26/89

    26

When both obedient servants of AllahSWT

    agreed and the fatherwas about

    to sacrifice HisAS

    beloved son then AllahSWT

    called Oh Abraham you have

proved the dream to be true. Thus the life of a young son was saved.

    Then AllahSWT

    gave HimAS

an animal to sacrifice as a grand gift in place of

    HisAS

beloved son. This sacrifice is a unique story in the history of humanity

    AllahSWT

says that surely it was a great test, and the praise which it deserve

is left for the future generations, which became the symbol of obedience t

    AllahSWT

    by a wonderful fatherAbraham

    ASand His

    ASpious son Ismaeel

    AS.

And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son

indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what yo

think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find

me, if Allah wills, of thesteadfast. And when they had both submitted

and he put him down upon his forehead, We called to him, "O Abraham

You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good

Indeed, this was the clear trial. And We ransomed him with a great

sacrifice, And We left for him [favorable mention] among later

of good. Indeed, he was of Our believing servants.

    (Surah 37 Ayah 102-111)

This was not the end. Millions and millions of the followers of the ProphetAbraham

ASremember this historical sacrifice in the form of an obligatory

ritual. This ritual is one of the five pillars of Islam called the Hajj, which is

performed every year, by those who can afford it, at least once in their life

time. All the pilgrims performing Hajj, who come from every corner of the

globe, must sacrifice an animal during the Hajj as a remembrance of the

hard test which our grandfather went through. This ritual is a symbol of th

unique sacrifice which was performed by AbrahamAS in the obedience ofHis

    ASCreator.

Muslims who do not come for the Hajj obligation that year, also sacrifice a

animal during those same days of pilgrimage. Their sacrifice is carried out a

pilgrims. In short this celebration of sacrifice will be enjoyed by every

Muslim throughout the world every year till the Day of Judgment,

    InshaAllah.

As it was mentioned earlier, AbrahamAS

was very much in favor of

    monotheism, HeAS

These are the same reasons, along with many others, that AbrahamAS

    was

    person whom AllahSWT

    was very pleased. AllahSWT

    declared HimAS

    in the Ho

    Quran as:

    (1) The Imam (leader) of all humanity:

    (:942)

And [mention, O Muhammad], when Abraham was tried by his Lord wit

leader for the people." [Abraham] said, "And of my descendants?" [ Alla

] said, "My covenant does not include the wrongdoers." (Surah 2 Ayah

    (2) Apart from that, AllahSWT

    has also granted HimAS

And who is better in religion than one who submits himself to Allah whi

being a doer of good and follows the religion of Abraham, inclining

toward truth? And Allah took Abraham as an intimate friend. (Surah 4

    Ayah 125)

    (3) AbrahamAS

had so many wonderful and high qualities that AllahSWT

    expressed HisAS

personality as an ummah (a nation).

    (:940)

Indeed, Abraham was a [comprehensive] leader, devoutly obedient to

Allah, inclining toward truth, and he was not of those who associate

others with Allah. (Surah 16 Ayah 120)

At that time, HeAS was the only representative of the monotheist religion o

Islam. On the other side there was an entire nation with several leaders of

idol worshipers which were against HimAS

. This single personality did so

much for Islam that it is compared to the amount of work of an entire

    Ummah (nation).

    (4) HeAS

was so humble, pious and steadfast on HisAS

    belief that AllahSWT

    (5) The other two titles granted by AllahSWT

    were Haleem

And the request of forgiveness of Abraham for his father was only

Moses is one of the few famous Prophets that The Holy Quran speaks abou

instruction and explanation for all things, [saying], "Take them with

determination and order your people to take the best of it. I will show yo

the home of the defiantly disobedient."(Surah 7:145)

Once MosesAS was traveling with HisAS family and HeAS saw a fire, HeAS told

    (5) JESUSAS

Jesus is also one of the famous prophets of Islam who received the

revelations for the Book called The BIBLE (INGEEL). This Prophet is unique the sense that he is the only person in humanity who was born without a

    father. HeAS

is the only person raised up, alive into the heavens, which is th

result of the Wonderful Divine Power of AllahSWT

    . HisAS

    surprising birth is

    briefly explained by AllahSWT

    in the Holy Quran.

    (:2)

She said, "My Lord, how will I have a child when no man has touchedme?" [The angel] said, "Such is Allah; He creates what He wills. When H

    was

me? The angel replied, "Thus [it will be]; your Lord says, 'It is easy for ME,

and WE will make him a sign to the people and a mercy from US. And it is a

came to them with clear proofs and those who disbelieved among themsaid, "This is not but obvious magic." (Surah 5 Ayah 110)

    Regarding HisAS

disappearance from this world, the Holy Quran clearly

    states that neither was HeAS

    crucified nor was HeAS

    killed, but AllahSWT

    HimAS up alive.

    (:9.)

    (:95)

    (6) MOHAMMUD(SAW)

    After JesusAS

    , came MohammudSAW

, the final Prophetof Islam. InshaAllah

we will study the life of this prophet in some detail. This will InshaAllah

    make it clear that AllahSWT

    has showered HISSWT

    unlimited blessings more

    than HESWT

has showered on anyone else, and granted HimSAW

    the most

    Powerful Miracle ---The HOLY QURAN.

It was made very clear in the previous pages that after the Prophet

    MohammudSAW

there will be neither another Prophet, nor will there be an

    new revelations from AllahSWT

, sent for humanity, till the Day of Judgment.

    (:20.)

  • 7/29/2019 The Unique Prophet

    63

Muhammad is not the father of [any] one of your men, but [he is] theMessenger of Allah and last of the prophets. And ever is Allah , of all

    things, Knowing.

    (Surah 33 Ayah 40)

    (:.)

Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be itsguardian. (Surah 15 Ayah 9)

The above Ayah shows that the Quran is a Divine Revelation that AllahSWT

    HimselfSWT

has guarded from any change. The people who will come after

the death of the Prophet Mohammudsaw

will have no other choice, but tofollow Him

    SAWas a prophet (in His

SAWabsence) along with the Book sent to

    HimSAW

(The Holy Quran), for their salvation. This is a unique law which

never applied to any previous prophetor Book.

To understand the status of any prophet one must study two main points:(1)His status in the prophet hood

(2)The power and strength of the miracle given to that prophet.

    (1) Prophet Hood

  • 7/29/2019 The Unique Prophet

    64/89

    64

Different prophets came in different times. As one prophet left this world,

the effect of His prophet hood was no longer valid. Another prophet used

take His place and people were supposed to follow the new prophet. This

was not with the case of the Prophet MohammudSAW. When the ProphetMohammud

    SAWdied; His

SAWprophet hood was still active and alive and

remained as strong as before. The people who came after HisSAW

    death had

no other choice but to follow Prophet MohammedSAW

    for their salvation on

    the Day of Judgment.

The effect of the preservation of the prophet hood, of the Prophet

MohammudSAW, after HisSAW death, was unique and unlimited because the

was no other prophet to come.

For the help of the future generations to be able to follow this ProphetSAW

    ,

    AllahSWT

has arranged for the preservation of HisSAW

    prophet hood in a very

    reliable and authentic manner. AllahSWT

    has arranged to preserve HisSAW

whole way of life in writing which is called Hadith which not only shows

    how HeSAW

followed the Holy Quran but also what HeSAW

    said and did, in

    HisSAW

public and private life. All this is well preserved in the most reliable

and authentic books called Bukhari and Muslim.

Apart from this, a great opportunity to follow this ProphetSAW

    , (who was a

practical example of how to follow the teachings of The Holy Quran) we al

have the preservation of the practical life of the closest companions of the

    Prophet MohammudSAW

. They are the wonderful, pious companions of the

    ProphetSAW

, who spent their entire life in close companionship day and

  • 7/29/2019 The Unique Prophet

    night. The Prophet MohammudSAW

was extremely pleased with them and

declared that the best era was HisSAW

era and the era of HisSAW

    companions

    (:905.)

Say, "This is my way; I invite to Allah with insight, I and those who follome. And exalted is Allah; and I am not of those who associate others

    with Him."

    (Surah 12 Ayah 108)

These close companions are called sahaba. They spent their lives with th

    ProphetSAW

and learned the true practical Islamic way of life from HisSAW

companionship. These followers of the Prophet

    SAW

used to ask questionsand apply what they learned, to their lives.

They saw that the Prophet MuhammadSAW

    not only preached Islam but

    HeSAW

himself practiced it. During this sacred companionship they lived so

    close to the ProphetSAW

that they became a true copy of the Prophet

    MohammudSAW

    .

The life of the sahaba (companions) is also well preserved in writings in the

form of books. One can examine the following wonderful Ayaat of the Holy

    66

Quran which are very similar to the good characters of the sahaba

    (Companions).

    (:36.)

    (:32.)

    (:3.) (:33.)

    (:3.)

    (:35.)

And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the eareasily, and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words

of] peace, And those who spend [part of] the night to their Lordprostrating and standing [in prayer] And those who say, "Our Lord, avefrom us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever adhering

Indeed, it is evil as a settlement and residence." And [they are] thosewho, when they spend, do so not excessively or sparingly but are everbetween that, [justly] moderate And those who do not invoke with Alla

another deity or kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to be killed],except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And

whoever should do that will meet a penalty. (Surah 25 Ayah 63-68)

  • 7/29/2019 The Unique Prophet

    67/89

    67

    (:4.) (:6.)

    (:

    2.) (:.)

    (:3)

And [they are] those who do not testify to falsehood, and when they pasnear ill speech, they pass by with dignity. And those who, when

reminded of the verses of their Lord, do not fall upon them deaf andblind. And those who say, "Our Lord, grant us from among our wives an

offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for therighteous." Those will be awarded the Chamber for what they patiently

endured, and they will be received therein with greetings and [words opeace. Abiding eternally therein. Good is the settlement and residence

    (Surah 25 Ayah 72-76)

    (:6.)

  • 7/29/2019 The Unique Prophet

    68/89

    68

Indeed, the Muslim men and Muslim women, the believing men andbelieving women, the obedient men and obedient women, the truthful

men and truthful women, the patient men and patient women, the humbmen and humble women, the charitable men and charitable women, th

fasting men and fasting women, the men who guard their private partsand the women who do so, and the men who remember Allah often andthe women who do so - for them Allah has prepared forgiveness and a

great reward. (Surah 33 Ayah 35)

Thus it makes it very easy for anyone to follow the Islamic way of life, evenin the absence of the Prophet Mohammud

SAW. There are now the three

established facts for a person, who wants to follow Islam at any time and

any place in the world, till the Day of Judgment.

    (1) The Holy Quran which is still in its original form and language will

remain the same for the rest of the humanity.

    (2) A complete practical life of the Prophet Mohammudsaw who is the

true follower of the Holy Quran has been authentically preserved in

    detail.

The importance of following the life of the Prophet Mohammudsaw

    in Islam

    is clearly emphasized by AllahSWT

in the Holy Quran in the following Ayaat

  • 7/29/2019 The Unique Prophet

    69/89

    (:64)

Merciful." Say, "Obey Allah and the Messenger." But if they turn away then indeed, Allah does not like the disbelievers.

    (Surah 3 Ayah 31-32)

    (:50.)

He who obeys the Messenger has obeyed Allah ; but those who turnaway - We have not sent you over them as a guardian. (Surah 4 Ayah 80

    (:49)

There has certainly been for you in the Messengers of Allah an excellenpattern for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day and [who]

remembers Allah often. (Surah 33 Ayah 21)

    (3) The practical life of the sacred companions of the ProphetMohammud

    SAWis also well preserved.

Having the above three unique guidances such as the preservation of the

Holy Quran, the complete authentic life of the Prophet MohammedSAW

    , an

    also the life of HisSAW

companions, makes it very easy for one to follow Isla

at anytime and anywhere in the world till the last Day of Judgment.

The above brief explanation gives us the idea of how Prophet

    MohammudSAW

s prophet hood was preserved and made easy to follow,

    even after His death.

  • 7/29/2019 The Unique Prophet

    71/89

    71

    (2) MIRACLES.

After prophet hood, the second category which should be considered is thpower of miracles. Miracles are an additional support given to prophets

which are beyond the capability of any creation. They are granted by

    ALLAHSWT

to the prophets to prove their prophet hood.

The effects of all the previous prophets miracles were as long as those

prophetsremained alive on earth, but the effect of the miracle of the

Prophet MohammudSAW (The Holy Quran) remains the same even after

    HisSAW

death. As the prophet hood is everlasting, so the miracle of The Hol

    Quran is also everlasting.

It is the only Divine Book or miracle which is preserved in its original form

and power with the personal responsibility of AllahSWT

    Alone.

This is the unique example in the prophet hood of Islam.

    (:).

Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be itsguardian. (Surah 15 Ayah 9)

After the death of the Prophet MohammudSAW

    humanity has no other

choice but to believe, read and follow this Great Miracle (The Holy Quran)

  • 7/29/2019 The Unique Prophet

    72/89

    72

along with the practical example of the ProphetSAW

    for their salvation, as w

    are all doing today. ALHAMDULILLAH.

It is clear; no other miracle besides The Holy Quran will be the criteria for

the salvation of humanity, starting from the prophet hood of the Prophet

    MohammudSAW

    until the Day of Judgment.

Apart from this The Holy Quran challenges the non-Muslims to bring a sma

surah of the same standard as found in The Holy Quran. This challenge

was given at the time of the Prophet MohammudSAW

    . The same challenge

still stands today, (word by word) and will InshaAllah remain till the Day ofJudgment.

Not a single person ever stood to meet this challenge nor will they ever be

able to do so in the future, because of the linguistic miracle of the Holy

    Quran.

    (:46.)

    (:42.)

And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Serva[Muhammad], then produce a surah the like thereof and call upon yourwitnesses other than Allah , if you should be truthful. But if you do not

  • 7/29/2019 The Unique Prophet

    73/89

    73

and you will never be able to - then fear the Fire, whose fuel is men andstones, prepared for the disbelievers. (Surah 2 Ayah 23-24)

Thus the Holy Quran is a unique miracle. In other words it is the miracle of

    miracles.

It is the only miracle that remains fully effective in its original form, even

after the death of the ProphetSAW

    .

    This clearly shows that HisSAW

miracle is unique and it is in humanitys best

interest to follow it and earn salvation.

So now, if we study and compare the prophet hoods and the miracles

among all the prophets, we notice that in both cases one must follow

    Prophet MuhammadSAW

    and HisSAW

    miracle even after HisSAW

    death. .

Apart from all the above blessings of ALLAH on Prophet MohammedSAWthere are some other blessings, which are also worth considering.

    (1) Prophet MohammudSAW

accomplished one of the most important

missions of all the prophets. This mission was the establishment of an

Islamic state (Iqamath-e-Deen) during a single prophet hood period whichno other prophet ever achieved.

In other words the laws of the Holy Quran (or the shariah) were enforced

practically in the whole country. The laws of the land were the laws of the

  • 7/29/2019 The Unique Prophet

    74/89

    74

QURAN. They were fully enforced in the land, in every aspect of human life

such as economic, social, cultural, political, educational, legal etc, etc

    HeSAW

    fought several battles with HisSAW

    companions whom HeSAW

    HimselfSAW

    trained. HeSAW

was personally injured during one of thebattles,

but did not give up. Amazingly enough, HeSAW

    achieved this important goa

within (approximately) twenty three years. This was one of the main

purposes of sending the prophets but Alhamdulillah HeSAW

    was the only

    prophet who achieved this goal.

    (:66.)

It is He who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion oftruth to manifest it over all religion, although they who associate other

with Allah dislike it. (Surah 9 Ayah 33)

    (:96.)

He has ordained for you of religion what He enjoined upon Noah and thwhich We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what We enjoinedupon Abraham and Moses and Jesus - to establish the religion and no

be divided therein. Difficult for those who associate others with Allah ithat to which you invite them. Allah chooses for Himself whom He willsand guides to Himself whoever turns back [to Him]. (Surah 42 Ayah 13

    ( :9)

It is He who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truthto manifest it over all religion, although those who associate others wit

    Allah dislike it. (61:9)

    (2)AllahSWT

says in the Holy Quran that HESWT

    has completed the Deen fo

    Mohammudsaw

    :

    ...(:6)

This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favoupon you and have approved for you Islam as religion (Surah 5 Ayah

This does not mean that the Deen (Islam) granted to the previous

prophets was not complete, this was not so. Every Deen was complet

at the time of every Prophet, according to their standard and way of

living. In the case of the Deen (Islam) of the Prophet MohammudSAW

    ,

  • 7/29/2019 The Unique Prophet

    76/89

    76

is such a comprehensive, well balanced and advanced Deen, it does

not need any change to adjust to the standard or way of life, of the

future generations, till the Day of Judgment.

This means that the Deen of the Prophet MohammudSAW

    is suitable and is

practicable by anyone, at any time, and anywhere in the world till the

    Day of Judgment.

    (3)AllahSWT

granted the best title Khair-ul-Ummah (The Best Nation) to

the nation of the Prophet MohammudSAW

    which means that HisSAW

nation has the superiority over all other nations.

The reason for granting this title (to this nation) was because AllahSWT

has imposed a great responsibility of amar bill maroof wa nahi anil

munkar which means that every member of this nation is responsible

to fulfill the obligation of a prophet i.e. to encourage the people to do

good deeds and to abstain from doing bad deeds.

In other words this responsibility is a kind of purification for humanity andan invitation towards the religion of Islam. To fulfill this responsibility a

person must practice Islam in his or her personal practical life first.

    (4) On the Day of Judgment Prophet MohammudSAW

    will be called as a

witness over all the witnesses of other nations. From each nation one

witness (prophet) will be called and He will witness that He has conveyed

    the message of AllahSWT

to His people. Finally Prophet MohammudSAW

    will

bear witness over all those witnesses (prophets). This unique and the

    (5) AllahSWT

has also granted Him the wonderful title of Rahamath-ul-

lilalameen which means that his arrival is a mercy for the universe.

And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to theworlds.

    In other words, HeSAW

was sent as a blessing, not only for HisSAW

nation, bualso for the whole humanity as a whole, as well as for the entire universe.

This kind of mercy and favor is not found with any other prophet.

    (6) The glad tidings of the coming of the Prophet MohammudSAW

    to this

world were given in advance to the previous nations by AllahSWT

    in their

Books. They were told that Prophet Mohammud will come in the future an

will guide the people of the Prophet MosesAS.

He will remove their misunderstandings which they imposed on themselve

i.e. in the matter of Halal and Haram and the different customs which they

introduced by themselves (which had nothing to do with the teachings of

evidences, they said, "This is obvious magic." (Surah 61 Ayah 6)

This kind of glad tidings in advance is not found with any other prophet.

    (7) AllahSWT

declared that the life of the Prophet MohammudSAW

    , a true

follower of the Holy Quran, is the best example for the whole humanity. It

    means that HeSAW

is a role model, not only for the people living during

    HisSAW

life, but also for the generations which will come in the future till th

Day of Judgment. In other words, after HisSAW

    death whoever steps on this

earth will need to follow this wonderful example for their salvation on the

    Day of Judgment.

There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellen

pattern for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day and [who]

(:.) And from [part of] the night, pray with it as additional [worship] for you

it is expected that your Lord will resurrect you to a praised station.(Surah 17 Ayah 79)

    (11) A unique and unbelievable journey which the Prophet MohammudSA

    had in HisSAW

life is called the Miraj. It took place during the night with th

help of the great angel, Gabriel. During that night Prophet MohammudSAW

travelled from Mecca to Baith-ul-mukhdus (MusjidulAqsa, Jerusalem). In

    that Mosque HeSAW

led the prayer in which all the prophets prayed behind

    Him

then went up to the sky to meet Allah

    . There He

Ayaat of Surathul- Baqarah (Surah #2).

    During HisSAW

    journey HeSAW

met several prophets who welcomed HimSAW

with kind greetings. Hewas also shown heaven and hell and returned to

    (12) During the month of Ramadan AllahSWT

A separate Surah was revealed in the Holy Quran in the name of that night

    called The Power.

Any good action or deed committed in that night will be awarded as if that

one action or deed was done for more than one thousand months. AllahSW

    (13) On the Day of Judgment AllahSWT

    will grant MohammudSAW

    a huge

Kauthar. Prophet MohammudSAW will be at that reservoir. HisSAW nation

which will be distributed by the Prophet MohammudSAW

    . There

will be some unfortunate people among HisSAW

that blessed water. They will come to drink the water but will be turned

    back. Prophet MohammudSAW

    HeSAW

will be told, You dont know that these people had made changes i

Your Deen after You left the world. They introduced new methods and

innovations in Your Deen. Then MohammudSAW will agree and they willhave to turn back. In short, the blessed water of heaven will be for the

    nation of Prophet MohammudSAW

    s true followers only.

    AllahSWT

revealed a separate Surah named Kauthar regarding the water

    and the reservoir.

    (:4.) (6.)

    (14) AllahSWT

says in the Holy Quran that He has raised the remembrance

    of the Prophet MohammudSAW

. The remembrance is raised in the sense th

    when the name of AllahSWT

is mentioned, right after that, the name of

Prophet MohammudSWT will also be mentioned. For example in the fiveobligatory prayers when the call for prayer, (the athan) is given, first the

    name of AllahSWT

is called then immediately after that, the name of the

    Prophet MohammudSAW

    is called.

This call for the prayer is given five times a day, every day throughout the

year, everywhere in the world, day and night till the Day of Judgment

    InshAllah.

Apart from that, the statement of basic beliefThe Kalima, which must be

believed and recited by anyone who wants to be a Muslim, is repeated

many times a day throughout the world, also has the name of the Prophet

    MohammudSAW

soon after the name of AllahSWT

    .

These are just a few examples.

    (15) MohammudSAW

is the only prophet sent for humanity to be followed

forever. Previously, whenever a prophet died or left the world, His followe

were supposed to follow the prophet who was sent after Him. But, the cas

    of the Prophet MohammudSAW

was different. After the death of the Proph

    MohammudSAW

, no other prophet was going to come. So every person who

comes into this world must believe and follow the Prophet MohammudSAW

    in HisSAW

    absence, for their salvation. HisSAW

    prophethood even after HisSAW

  • 7/29/2019 The Unique Prophet

    88/89

death, still remains intact and active as before, till the Day of Judgment.

    MohammudSAW

, the last and unique prophet, whose prophet hood is still

    alive, even after HisSAW

death, is to be followed by the whole of humanity.

    (28 )

And We have not sent you except comprehensively to mankind as a

bringer of good tidings and a warner. But most of the people do not

    know.

    (Surah 34 Ayah 28)

In short, all the above discussions about the PROPHET HOOD, the MIRACLE

and the different kinds of special blessings and favors granted to the

    Prophet MohammudSAW

, and to his nation, bring us to the conclusion that

    the Prophet MohammudSAW

, no doubt is and was, the unique prophetof

    ALL.

    May AllahSWT

s Peace and Blessings be upon Him for Ever and Ever.
