ART IN ACTION THE TWO NAPOLEANS In observing both paintings… It is obvious to me that each artist representation of Napoleon differs in that: a) There horses are different in color and stature b) Both portraits show Napoleon in two separate Uniforms i.e. Jacques-Louis David has him wearing the more formal General Imperia Uniform vs. Paul Delaroche choice of the Khaki Green Uniform also used in times of war. c) I find that the depiction of the “Alps” in both paintings is pretty much the only identical portion of the two. The Alps in both paintings show a steady incline of higher altitude. 1) If you closely you will see that the painting created by Paul Delaroche shows a more relaxed Napoleon, with his hands tucked away inside his uniform, demonstrating the confidence in his assistance taking care of him while he stops on the Alps 2) On the other hand, Jacques Louis David chose to show a fiercer fighting warrior in Napoleon A) Both paintings show mixture of primary, secondary and tertiary colors of…reds, blues, greens and black For me they tell two different stories. You have overzealous Napoleon who has commanded his horse to be overzealous and ready for battle. The other painting shows a more relaxed vulnerable General. I admire the vulnerable relaxed Napoleon. Its shows strength with discipline I would definitely have him represent me as a Strong Black Woman doing big things as a Boss Chick with Power and Strong feministic characteristics that show the world you can be a boss chick and hot!

THE TWO NAPOLEANS

In observing both paintings… It is obvious to me that each artist representation of Napoleon differs in that: a) There horses are different in color and stature

b) Both portraits show Napoleon in two separate Uniforms i.e.

1) If you closely you will see that the painting created by Paul Delaroche shows a more relaxed Napoleon, with his hands tucked away inside his uniform, demonstrating the confidence in his assistance taking care of him while he stops on the Alps

2) On the other hand, Jacques Louis David chose to show a fiercer fighting warrior in Napoleon

A) Both paintings show mixture of primary, secondary and tertiary colors of…reds, blues, greens and black

For me they tell two different stories. You have overzealous Napoleon who has commanded his horse to be overzealous and ready for battle.

The other painting shows a more relaxed vulnerable General.

I admire the vulnerable relaxed Napoleon. Its shows strength with discipline

I would definitely have him represent me as a Strong Black Woman doing big things as a Boss Chick with Power and Strong feministic characteristics that show the world you can be a boss chick and hot!
