GOD IS WITH US

The book of Wisdom tells us that the spirit of

God is in all things. What a wonderful thought, and what

a wonderful image to keep in front of us as we travel

down life’s road. For if the path is revealed in the tread-

ing, it’s good to know that God is with us—and all

around us—every step of the way.

But Paul knows that this divine presence is not

timid. Instead, God calls out to us, and Paul prays that

we, along with the Thessalonians, might be made worthy

of that call. And who knows more about God’s call than

Zacchaeus, the tax collector? Jesus called him out of a

tree, for goodness’ sake. Or perhaps more correctly, as

we reflect upon the end of today’s Gospel reading, for

heaven’s sake.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! To list all the people who helped make this past weekend’s celebration a suc-cess would be practically impossible. However Laurie Paetzold and Amy Betzen Co-chaired the event and held eve-rything together and made sure it all ran smoothly. Congratulations in a special way to those couples celebrating their 65th Anniversary of Marriage this year. As Bishop Zurek said you are a light for the entire community. Bish-op Zurek said after Mass that none of the other parishes in the Diocese that have celebrated these major milestones have thought to invite those who received sacraments in that year to be honored, he thought it was a wonderful way to honor the many lives of faith that the Parish has had a hand in forming. Once again thank you! The Centennial Year of St. Anthony Catholic School begins Catholic School’s Week the end of this coming January and will close the following Catholic School’s Week. In addition the 115 Anniversary of the founding of the Parish will be the weekend of June 10, 2017. We have a year of celebration coming. If you would like to help with any of these celebrations please call the School or the Parish regarding you desire to assist.
