Greetings CBA! 

As we officially end this school year, I’d like to extend my gratitude to each and every VSBer for being part of another meaningful chapter of VSB history.

 Successful is indeed an understatement. From being the 3-peat PANA champions to finally reclaiming the crown in the FINEX competition as well as being the country’s representative in the L’Oreal Brandstorm International Finals and dominating each and every academic opportunity existing out there – to the growth and development this year of each VSB-based organization – to each victory of the VSB men’s basketball team in the Diliman Games – to being a better and better college every single day. But more than these tangible achievements, I believe this school year is more memorable for the intangible – friendship, camaraderie, unity and most of all, the powerful concept of togetherness. From BACBACAN1 to OrgPres to the BA Culminight, Lantern Parade to every single day of class – walking past each other, simple chats, a few pats, lots of hugs, bits of tears, countless smiles and unending laughter.I believe this year, each and every VSBer has a personal story to tell, but what makes this great and wonderful is how each of these unique stories plays a part in making our college legacy. This is what LAKAS CBA, LIKAS CBA is all about – Every unique VSBer being part of a truly great VSB.  2 batches will be departing and a new one will arrive but the VSB community continues to stay united as one family. We have a left a legacy, VSB and what makes this legacy unique is that it’s OURS. On behalf of the BAC2013, all the Project Heads and the Council Associates, thank you VSB for making this school year truly LAKAS CBA, LIKAS CBA.  Leigh Wade WongChairpersonBusiness Administration Council 2013

This is a summer of new beginnings. As we move forward as the new School of Business Student Council (SBSC), we bring with us new dynamism in creating quality and innovative projects that would bind our new school together.

This coming school year presents to us new opportunities for growth as we explore the school’s 97th year of leading business education in the country. This academic year, we are provided with a challenge to go back to the roots of what the student council is called for – service and inclusiveness. These two values provide us a roadmap for our end goal in mind – one VSB / a VSB United.

We jumpstart the year with a mix of event- and initiative-based projects that will surely cater to the demands of student life. Initiatives like this year’s Fitness Revolution and Facility Renovation aims to provide our fellow students an environment that is still conducive alongside the rigors of academic life. We also retained our staple projects that have increased the equity of the council and the School of Business, such as The Intercollegiate Project (TIP), BACBACAN, and OrgPres, to name a few.

This year is also the start of new Councilor functions – Student Relations as well as Education and Research, a move that will further increase the proactive participation of all stakeholders of the School of Business. Also, SBSC designated a new position, the Ad Hoc Chairperson of the School Centenary, to lay the groundwork for the School’s foundation anniversary.

As we face this new academic year with much enthusiasm, the School of Business Student Council invites everyone to take part in this groundbreaking start of great things to come for our Council and our School!

SBSC is proud to present the newest innovation in its projects - The Fitness Revolution Campaign that aims to

instill in the minds of the students that health is truly wealth. Executions will vary from online to offline activations and the biggest inter-batch health

awareness competition.

incoming freshmen and VSB.

The General Registration is an inevitable time that all students have to undergo before the semester

starts. This year, SBSC’s goal is to provide the students with comfort and relief from the stress of

waiting and queuing up for different lines.

The Skills Workshop project is a series of seminars and workshops that aim to hone VSBers’ skills that are

needed in key professional platforms. Each installment brings different facets of training and development for

every VSB student.

The school assembly is the only platform wherein the students, council and administration all come together in order to

address various VSB concerns. VSBers are highly encouraged to attend in order to be well informed about matters that

concern them.

In line with honing talents beyond the rigorous academic routine, SBSC presents a project centered

on arts and camaraderie. OrgPres is the annual competition that puts the spotlight on the different

talents and creativity of the VSB-based organizations.

SBSC’s long-running project Adopt-a-Barangay continues to plan and execute developments for its main beneficiary,

Brgy. Puray. This project also includes spearheading initiatives in establishing student involvement and college

awareness of VSB’s beneficiaries.

The facility renovation has been a continuing project of the SBSC towards improving the facilities in VSB in order to

provide the students with a better environment that is conducive for learning, and at the same time brings about

a better work-life balance for the VSB community. This semester, the project will focus on the improvement of the overall cleanliness, convenience, security and connectivity

within the college.

The VSB Business Week is the flagship week-long event of the college. Its events, which include the

Big Event and a gallery, aim to expose the VSB students to the many possibilities that business

offers. This semester, Business Week 2013 aims to involve the VSB community in the importance of social responsibility and numerous advocacies in

the business environment.

The Intercollegiate Project (TIP) is a series of business seminars targeting the students of the different colleges in the university. This project aims to spread awareness about the positive

effects of business to society as well as to showcase the possible applications of their

specific skills to the world of business.

Though our college’s name has changed, some things remain the same and that includes the

highly anticipated BACBACAN 1. Back this semester with even bigger and bolder plans, the

VSB student body better put their game faces on because it will surely prove to be an

enchanting and fun-filled event.
