Start in Canterbury.

This itinerary provides you access to the Canterbury, Nelson, Marlborough, Otago and Fiordland Regions of South Island, New Zealand.

Either arrive internationally or by a connecting domestic flight from Auckland into Christchurch City. Despite having recently sufferd from a localised earthquake, Christchurch’s citizens and

New Zealanders all over, are pulling the community back together building it stronger and even more beautiful than before mother nature shook the “Garden City”.

Stay in the epitome of Canterbury’s luxury in a collonial garden enveloped lodge arriving chauffeur driven up to the gravel lined steps.

Stay here for 2 nights enjoying New Zealand gastronomy at it’s best and simply unwind from

your long flight. Realise your surroundings and appreciate the determination of the Christchurch people.

Receive your luxury 4x4 vehicle at the door and set off inland for Arthur’s Pass in the Southern Alps and your next accommodation just as incredible as before.

3 further nights here taking part in your first 2 days of guided fly fishing in the local streams for large NZ trout. This time though you will be in your private cottage fully catered for, overlooking

the river with sweeping views down the Cass River and across to the Puketeraki Range.

After these 3 wonderful nights, drive up the Western side of the Southern Alps to your next destination and fully dedicated fly fishing Lodge owner-operated by a passionate fisherman.

4 nights in fly fishing heaven, fabulous food and great hospitality make for some memories in the Nelson/Murchison region of the South Island.

As with all of the lodges you will be staying at, heli-fishing is of course an option here to access the remote back country rivers inhabited by those wild brown and rainbow trout you dream to

stalk and throw large terrestrial flies over.

Next you will be staying in the sounds of Marlborough in a private 1 bedroom romantic cottage perched over the bay for 3 nights accessible only by boat.

The award winning restaurant overlooking the pier promises a sophisticated and romantic dining experience. The local area abounds with boutique activites, and the wildlife is

extraordinary.

We have included this stay in the Sounds to let you take a break from the fly fishing for trout for a few days and really enjoy an incredibly stunning and romantic environment in one of New

Zealand’s most intimate of areas. If for any reason fishing is a more realistic option for your time here, sight fly fishing for seafish and diving for scallops and crayfish is an option and you can

enjoy your catch in the evening on your private deck with a local wine.

After you dock back into Picton township harbour you gently meander down the coast line in your vehicle to Northern Canterbury for an iconic luxury farming country lodge boasting “big

skies and wide-open spaces”, quite a contrast to your previous location. Back into a few days of guided fly fishing and visiting local Kaikoura to take part in whale watching, or the thermal

springs in Hanmer. A private real working NZ sheep farm tour is also a must do here.

Before you head to the South of the Island, we bring you back to your very first accommodation in Christchurch to be pampered and dined in a familiar location rested and ready for your next

leg.

From here head back towards the very well known Mataura River catchment and stay in your own private cottage for 3 nights on one of the country’s oldest farm stations. Self-cater or have a

chef prepare your meals for you in your cottage.

Again be guided to visible trophy brown trout for 2 days.

Your next lodging is set amongst alpine lakes and glaciers and of course numerous good trout streams. Stay here for 4 nights waking up to the most incredible sunrises, dine by the

Your next venue is a little different…After a day of heli-fishing, stay in a mountain top chalet only accessible by helicopter overlooking endless valleys crammed with fishing opportunities

only accessible again by air. Wake to unspoiled views of Mt. Aspiring right outside your window facing West or Mt. Cook facing North East. All this in a truly luxurious alpine hosted chalet.

The chalet, as incredible as it is on it’s own, is just an extention of a NZ benchmark lodge at a more credible altitude on the shores of Lake Wanaka. Here is where you will return after heli-

fishing from the chalet and be treated to some of the finest food and hospitality in New Zealand.
