With the total solar eclipse happening on Monday, August 21, the state of Oregon is expecting about 1 million visitors

during that weekend traveling between Portland and Eugene. We are expecting all major highways to be frozen with

traffic and, as such, we will be unable to make deliveries south of Wilsonville starting Sunday and continuing through

Monday. We will be trying our best to complete Portland area deliveries, however we still are expecting delays and

cannot guarantee we will hit our standard delivery windows. If you have any questions or concerns, please see your

PrunesWe have a small shot at local, fresh Italian Prunes coming

out of Yakima. There’s only about another week or two of

harvest so act fast!

ChilesNew Mexican Hatch Chiles will be starting late next week.

We also have a variety of locally grown chiles including

Goat Horns and Cherry Bombs.

GrapesLots of varieties are available: Muscats, Tomchords,

Teardrops, Jumbo Blacks, Globes.

BeansYellow Wax, Organic Romano, and Local Fava Beans are

all available as Special Order.

MelonsHermiston watermelons are tasting great. We also have

Organic Magenta and Tuscan melons from Washington

Stone FruitStill going strong on local peaches, apricots, and pluots.

More varieties are coming out next week, check for

availability.

TomatoesNW Green Tomatoes, Slicers, and Romas are available.

Lots of Durst Organic Tomatoes still available as well.

QUALITY & SHORTAGE ISSUES

In general, if you haven’t heard, it’s HOT outside. Most

items are doing okay quality wise, supply on a few

commodities have suffered though.

AvocadosAvocados are still scarce, mostly small sizes available to

try and keep up with demand and prices are increasing

as well.

GarlicGarlic is continuing to be extremely short. Elephant

Garlic is available but is smaller than expected.

LimesTropical Storm Franklin has hit Lime Country this week

and will continue to pour inches of rain combined with

70 mph winds for the next week or so. As such, harvests

are currently on pause. Once harvest resumes, limes will

still be in bad shape. We will keep you informed as much

as we can.

East Asian CommoditiesA lot of East Asian items like Bean Sprouts have just

been scorched by the heat, with supplies being very

tight.

RhubarbRhubarb is gapping, close to being done for the season.
