Before You Begin: SUMMARY

This presentation teaches how to create a simple thesis statement that uses a 1x3 structure.

This refers to a thesis statement with three parts, where only one of the three parts is composed of three elements.


Before You Begin: Three Parts

The effective problem statement has three (3) parts.• TARGET BENEFICIARY: A specific target beneficiary • URGENT NEEDS: Beneficiary needs that are clearly

urgent or in a problem or situation that is clearly critical

• RELEVANCE: What the beneficiary must do (required action) to meet the need or problem must be countable or quantifiable
