MANUFACTURER: GE Appliances & Lighting, of Louisville, Ky.

DESCRIPTION: This recall involves the GE Profile dishwashers manufactured between July 2003 and December 2005 and GE Monogram dishwashers manufactured between January 2004 and December 2006. They were sold in white, black, bisque, stainless steel and with custom panels. The recalled model and serial numbers are located on the inside on the front left side of the dishwasher tubs.

HAZARD

Water condensation can drip onto the electronic control board, causing a short circuit and resulting in an overheated connector. This poses a fire hazard to consumers.

INCIDENTS/INJURIES

GE has received five reports of fires, four of which caused minor damage to the kitchen countertops where the dishwashers were installed and one caused minor damage to adjacent cabinets and smoke damage to the home. No injuries have been reported.

Model and serial numbers for the slide-in ranges can be found inside the oven door on the left side of the unit or on the underside surface on cooktop models.

HAZARD

Liquids can pool under the control knob and cause the surface heating element to turn on unexpectedly, heat to temperatures other than expected and then not turn off, posing a risk of fire and burn hazards to consumers.

INCIDENTS/INJURIES

Electrolux has received 70 reports of incidents, including three reports of fires that resulted in property damage. Three minor burn injuries were reported.

ELECTRIC SHOCK

The product poses a risk of electric shock for anyone coming into contact with a metallic part of the awning under the following circumstances: - the handle of the integrated emergency control for the motor has been used, - use of the handle has caused the swivel connector to jam, - the jammed swivel connector has caused the hood of the electronic chassis inside the motor to open, - the opening of the chassis hood has led to the chassis support breaking due to the strain increment, - the connection wires of the electrical power cable have been pulled out following the rotation, - one of the two power cables is disconnected and the other has just touched a metallic part of the motor (crankcase), - the earthing cable is completely disconnected. The product does not comply with the Low Voltage Directive (LVD) and the relevant European standard EN 60950.

DESCRIPTION: The recalled projector flashlights are about 6 1/2 inches in length and have the Wolverine, Spider-Man and Iron Man characters and names printed on them. The flashlights come with five extra mini discs that attach to the flashlight to project various images. The back of the packaging contains the number 16879-20012-003-1003 and UPC 6 39277 16879 5.

HAZARD

The flashlights can cause the batteries and/or bulb to overheat, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers.

INCIDENTS/INJURIES

The firm has received three reports of incidents involving batteries overheating in the recalled flashlights. Reported incidents include a flashlight that melted and a flashlight battery that caught fire. No injuries have been reported.

The toy is yellow, has a smiling face, turquoise windows, an orange propeller and an orange periscope that turns the toy on and off. The intake valve has a water pump that sucks in water to propel the submarine. The toy is intended for use by children during bath time.


HAZARD

The intake valve on the bottom of the submarine toy can suck up loose skin, posing laceration hazard to children.

INCIDENTS/INJURIES

CPSC and the company are aware of 19 incidents of lacerations to boys' genital area. One of the incidents required medical attention.

SUMMARY: The recall involves older versions of the Graco Quattro Tour™ and MetroLite™ strollers and travel systems manufactured prior to the existence of the January 2008 voluntary industry standard which addresses the height of the opening between the stroller’s tray and the seat bottom. This voluntary standard requires larger stroller openings that prevent infant entrapment and strangulation hazards.


HAZARD

Entrapment and strangulation can occur, especially to infants younger than 12 months of age, when a child is not harnessed. An infant can pass through the opening between the stroller tray and seat bottom, but his/her head and neck can become entrapped by the tray. Infants who become entrapped at the neck are at risk of strangulation.

The Carhartt logo is sewn on the front of the garment and the style numbers can be found on the sewn-in label hanging from the sleeve.

The product poses a chemical risk because it contains acetophenone at a level of 740 + 93 mg/ kg of plastic and 2-phenyl-2-propanol at a level of 1723 + 45 mg/kg of plastic as volatile substances in the plastic. Both these substances are classified as injurious to health by the BfR. They may induce allergic reactions and they cause dermatitis in the event of prolonged contact with the skin. Inhalation of the fumes may give rise to headaches or nausea and in concentrated form may have a quasi-narcotic effect and cause poisoning.
