Calling for Watchmen

Prayer is the Christian vital breath, The Christian native air...

The saints in prayer appear as one In word and deed and mind,

While with the Father and the Son Sweet fellowship they find.

~ Prayer is the Soul’s Sincere Desire

By James Montgomery, 1818

Come and join other Trinityites in the Historical Room at 8:15 - 8:45 a.m., every Sunday morning to cover Trinity in prayer.

Help build a wall of Blessing Bricks

During this season of thanksgiving and moving into the Christmas season, we have many reasons to feel blessed. Now you have an opportunity to share those blessings with all of Trinity. In the East hallway by the Nursery, Children’s Ministries Director Mindy Boe invites all Trinityites to write your blessings on a paper “brick.” These bricks will then be put up on the wall for all to see - the goal is to fill a wall, or two, with Blessing Bricks. The Blessing Bricks will stay up into the new year.

New Weekly Bible Study! Join D-Squared, our College and Young Adult ministry, as we begin a new weekly Bible study. The focus of this study is discipleship. We will look at what it means to be a disciple and what it means to make disciples. Our study will take place on Thursday nights at 6:30 p.m., beginning December 4. If you have any questions contact Micah Anderson, Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries.

Trinity to host Toys for Tots Event

On Wednesday, December 17, the entire lower level will be filled with families “shopping” for their children’s Christmas gifts. For the second year, Trinity will be

partnering with Toys for Tots to distribute gifts for families in need in our community. Several volunteers have already signed up to help, but more are needed to help make this event a success. If you have questions or wish to volunteer, please contact Cami Vogt at 651-235-8267 or [email protected].

Trinity Talk

Looking ahead to next Sunday: Following the repeated failures of the people of God to live out their calling to be a witness and blessing to the nations, the “big story” of Scripture enters an exciting phase with the coming of Jesus. Next week, we’ll start the season of advent with a look at how Jesus redefined the people of God around himself and provided the basis for hope for the world.

Planet Wisdom registration: Junior and Senior High students will be attending the annual Planet Wisdom conference, December 5-6. Cost is $55. Please register with Micah Anderson TODAY!

Today’s special offering: A special Thanksgiving offering will be taken today to be divided evenly between two missionaries in Thailand, Joanna Peters and Aree and Pacharin Chuchmanamast. Please note: If you have an offering for Trinity’s General Fund or Mission budget, please place it in the slot at the Information Desk where it will be locked up after Worship, or hold it until the next week.

Trinity kids perform: Trinity has two talented children performing in holiday classics this year. Sally Hunt is participating in the Guthrie Theatre’s “A Christmas Carol.” Performances start this week and continue through December 28. Eliana Vogt is dancing in “The Nutcracker” with the Twin Cities Ballet of Minnesota. Her performances are December 12-14 at the Ames Center. Tickets for both events can be purchased through Ticketmaster.
