My name is Tyler, and I am excited to say that I will be your editor for the2014-2015 Leadership Team! I also want to congratulate the otheramazing Key Clubbers who will be serving with me especially your D28W LTG, Sheldon Wong! Our division is in good hands! I go to Northwest CTA, but I hope to get to know all of you during my term.

WOW! What an AMAZING month it’s been! From installation at District Convention to Officer Training Conference, this month has been jam packed

with so many “Key Club Moments.” Just in this month, we were able to pull off so many stunning events. Relay for Life West Youth went off without a hitch again with attendees rising every year. Our Divisional Dodge-Ball Tournament brought together

five of our schools to compete and raise money for Children’s Miracle Network. five of our schools to compete and raise money for Children’s Miracle Network. I also have the pleasure of selecting four fantastic individuals to serve alongside

me as my Division Leadership Team! In this newsletter, you’ll get to know a little more about them. Make sure you congratulate them and wish them

the best of luck! Now that the end of the school year is upon us now, it gives everyone more time to relax, but that doesn't mean service ends! Summer

RELAY FOR LIFEOF WEST YOUTHSPRING VALLEY HSMAY 2, 2014

If NWCTA Key Club could pick one event to be awake for 15 hours straight, what would it be? Relay For Life. This weekend was filled with joy, hope, and fun. NW Key Club spent their time advertising our chicken teriyaki by spreading joy and giving free hugs, met new people, made music, played music, and of course walked on the track all night. We raised almost $400 just by our the track all night. We raised almost $400 just by our waffles, chicken, eggs, & bacon. All thanks to our wonderful members! Relay for Life 2014 was definitely one of the greatest and fun-filled event of this year. See you next year, bees!

Relay for life was a really memorable event. Members were able to do a variety of things including walking the track, help sell at the club's booth, play different sports, and watch different performances such as the Ms. Relay and Mr. Relay pageant. Participating in the pageant was a lot of fun because not only pageant was a lot of fun because not only was I able to raise money for cancer through donations, but I was able to hear and share stories and thoughts about the event and cancer itself. I was also able to talk to and see kids I've never known while asking for donations, and I ended up winning the first Mr. Relay pageant for west. Although the talent show, pageant for west. Although the talent show, and pageants were hilarious and entertaining, I think the best part of the night was the silent lap where we walked the track in the darkness and silence. Many people, including myself, cried about losing loved ones from cancer, and people were there to comfort them and give support. I thought that this was the most touching part of the thought that this was the most touching part of the night because members were able to see each other's pain and bond, strengthening the club. Relay for Life was full of laughs, tears, greetings, and goodbyes, and I can't wait for next year

MISS RELAY

To kick off the month of May, students from all over Las Vegas gathered at Spring Valley High School to celebrate West Youth Relay For Life. The Youth Relay For Life. The point of this event is to raise awareness and money for cancer, in hopes of ridding this horrible disease in the future. It was a success, and our club was able to collect a lot of money. Overall, Relay For Life was an Overall, Relay For Life was an extraordinary event. Cancer never sleeps, and neither will we, and we proved it by committing ourselves to staying on the track and field for 12 hours straight. While this event was fun, keep in mind that the point is to raise cancer awareness, and that to raise cancer awareness, and that should be the main reason you go.

“Great Strides is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's largest national fundraising event. Each year, more than 125,000 people participate in hundreds of walks across the country to raise funds for cystic fibrosis research and drug development.”

One of the last events we had this month was the Cystic Fibrosis 5k Walk. Despite the event being fairly early and being on a windy day, it was still a spectacular event that supported a great cause. Before the event started, the hosts of the event were giving out free donuts, yogurt cups, waters, lemonades, coconut waters, and muffins. So if you like free breakfast food and want to help find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis, we highly encourage you to volunteer for next year's event!

Hearing these speeches was very touching as well as educational in spreading the word of curing cystic fibrosis, thus giving the walk a greater purpose. Thousands of dollars were donated to the charity and these funds will save many lives in the future!

The Grant a Gift Autism Walk was a truly special event. Despite the frigid weather and the early arrival time, we managed to still have an amazing time helping out at this event with our sponsoring Kiwanis club. Passing out shirts to participants may seem like a simple task, but we were able to have an entertaining time as we interacted with other volunteers and watched as everyone registered. It was a heartwarming experience to witness such a large group of people join together to raise funds forto witness such a large group of people join together to raise funds forthe Grant a Gift Autism Foundation even though the weather wasextremely unappealing. This event really revealed how much people care about not just Autism, but any cause that they sincerely believe in.
