Charter Granted 7 August 1961

No. 26366th January 2017

By RTN Roy Howard

For our final luncheon meeting of 2016, the audience was treated to a rambling discourse on Danish Ice Cream, French Brandy and a fictitious Australian wine which we shall discreetly refer to as Diginit, although readers may prefer to use an alternative pronunciation. Having established that sommelier Frank Crocker was not from the Federal Republic of Somalia, located appropriately in the Horn of Africa, he opened the session by coercing members and guests to bid at auction for a bottle of French Brandy and a bottle of Australian Brut wine, which was generously purchased by RTN Marc. Zeroing in on various RCBS members, RTN Frank delved into national characteristics and style of dress, with particular focus on the Scottish kilt, and hypothesised how Diginit wine might enhance their performance. Fortunately two visiting Thai doctors chose not to respond to the innuendoes, displaying great professional calm and equanimity.
