PRAYER LINE—A REQUEST FROM GAIL ATKINS
For several years now, I have been heading up the Prayer Line for St. Bartholomew. Once the bulletin went cluster-wide, I have had a few members from St. Maximilian and St. John & Holy Cross join the prayer line and call or email prayer requests. Those that contact me with prayer requests are so very grateful to have this ministry available to them and their loved ones. They truly believe in the power of prayer. The praying members of the prayer line also believe in the power of prayer and are active participants in this church ministry. Behind the scenes, they are offering up their time to bring solace to others.
I am seeking more cluster participants to join in the power of prayer. Being a member of the prayer line is easy. The prayer requests are forwarded to you by email. You choose your own method of prayer for the intentions. Your time, your schedule, your way. What could be easier? There is also an option available for those without email who would like to join the prayer line.
I would also like to ask more folks to take advantage of the prayer line. No request is too insignificant. Everyone has something for which they are seeking divine help. More and more studies are showing the “power of prayer”. All intentions are kept confidential. You can contact me at [email protected] (preferred method of contact) or (799-8243).
IT’S NOT TOO LATE TO JOIN! Two cluster-wide programs for grades 5-8 and 9-12: The Middle School Community Service Group and the High School Community Service Group will be ongoing programs that offer at least two community service projects a month. If you are
interested in joining the group or want more information, please contact Sharon at 799-5528 x 103 or [email protected].
Home Pastoral Visits There are times due to illness or injury when people find themselves unable to come to Mass but could use a communion visit to strengthen themselves to endure their situation. We have parishioners who are willing to make home visits. If you or a family member are in this situation, please call Kris Benson at 883-0334. She will contact the home visit volunteer from your church.
THANK YOU!!
The special intention at today’s mass at St. John & Holy Cross is for Bob Falconer, who is a catechist for the High
School Community Service Group. Bob has been volunteering for over 22 years. When he and his wife, Elaine, returned to Maine, they were looking for a ministry to share their gifts. Bob became a catechist and he has worked with almost every age group. This past summer, I approached Bob with an idea for a high school volunteer group and he was not only supportive, he was eager to help. In addition to being a catechist, he is a lector and a member of the Knights of Columbus. You can typically see Bob at the St. John & Holy Cross masses. Thank you, Bob, for volunteering!!
First Saturday Marian Devotion Held on Saturday, July 7, At St. Maximilian Kolbe
WILL BE CANCELLED.
We will resume on Saturday, August 4, at 8:00 a.m. Thank you.

Totus Tuus “Totally Yours”
This is an incredible Catholic summer youth program (students in 1st through 12th grade) dedicated to teaching the Gospel and deepening love for the Church through catechesis, prayer, Christian witness, and the sacraments. The program’s strong emphasis on devotion and love for Christ in the Eucharist and for Mary, mother of the Church, leads participants to an exhilarating encounter with the timeless treasures of the Catholic faith. Totus Tuus’ vibrant summer program will be led by a team of three college students and a seminarian from the Diocese of Portland. On fire with the faith and trained to hand it on to young people, they travel from parish to parish leading an intensive week-long program of learning, praying, and joyful living of the Catholic faith.
Totus Tuus will be at St. Maximilian Kolbe the week of July 29-August 3. Online registration has begun! Register at www.registertotustuusme.org !!
