BLOCK ASSEMBLY:

1. Sew (1) B 3 ¼" x 13"strip to top left side and (1) C 3 ¼" x 13"strip to bottom right side of (1) A fussy cut peacock square.

2. Sew (1) B 3 ¼" x 18 ½"strip to top right side and (1) C 3 ¼" x 18 ½"strip to bottom left side of unit from step 1.

* Sew strips together via short ends WOF = Width of Fabric

3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to make the following peacock block combinations:

Make 1 block sewing (1) C 3 ¼" x 13" strip to the top left and (1) B 3 ¼" x 13" strip to the bottom right of (1) A fussy cut peacock square. Sew (1) C 3 ¼" x 18 ½"strip to top right side and (1) B 3 ¼" x 18 ½"strip to bottom left side.

Make 2 blocks using (2) B 3 ¼" x 13" strips for short sides. Use (2) B 3 ¼" x 18 ½" strips for long sides.

Make 2 blocks using (2) C 3 ¼" x 13" strips for short sides. Use (2) C 3 ¼" x 18 ½" strips for long sides.

QUILT DIAGRAM

Using diagram, layout quilt on a large surface. Refer to cover image to be sure strips match up properly.

4. Sew corner sections, peacock rows and lattice rows together as shown.

5. Sew lattice rows between corner sections and peacock rows as shown to finish quilt top.

6. Trim sides, top and bottom using edges of D triangles to square.

7. Add 1½" D border to sides, trim to size. Add 1½" D border to top and bottom, trim to size.

FINISHING Cut batting and backing 3" larger than top on all sides. Layer backing, batting and top and baste or pin. When quilting is completed, trim excess batting and backing. Bind as usual.
