A. We are united behind one promise: I will make every FedExexperience outstanding. The promise is simple, but its effects are far-reaching. Our promise unites us across regions, roles andcompanies. When we live the promise, we create a powerfuladvantage that separates us from our competition.

Q. How is The Purple Promise Recognition and Rewards Program different from other FedEx awards?

A. It’s the only corporatewide program that publicly recognizes andrewards our shared commitment to customers, both internal andexternal. And it’s the only program that allows us to honor eachother using the same criteria and awards, regardless of our jobdescription, operating company or region. All of us have anopportunity to be recognized when we live The Purple Promise.

Q. What are the different levels of recognition and rewards?

A. • Purple Promise Acknowledgement: Thanks employees for their dedication to The Purple Promise.

• Purple Promise Recognition: Honors Purple Promise Award nominees.

• Purple Promise Award: Nominated employees are selected by a Purple Promise Award Committee in each operating company.

• Purple Promise Chairman’s Award: The best of the best. Purple Promise Award winners are considered for The PurplePromise Chairman’s Award.

Q. Who is eligible to be nominated, and who can nominate employees?

A. Permanent employees of any FedEx company can be nominated and/or submit a nomination with approval from a member of management.

Q. If The Purple Promise is all about our promise to customers, how do we define a customer?

A. What’s important is that we promise to make every FedEx experience outstanding — that includes the experiencesof internal as well as external customers.

Q. What are some examples of behaviors that support The Purple Promise?

A. Eligible activities include, but are not limited to, the following:• An act that exceeds normal job requirements — working

above and beyond for the customer to deliver outstanding customer service.

• Demonstrating initiative in providing outstanding customer service.

• Demonstrating appropriate problem-solving behavior.• Creating exceptional ideas for delighting the customer
