It is very easy.

To describe an action that is in progress. For example, in this moment, you are reading this information. Another example, you are paying attention to this slide.

Moreover, you can use this tense to describe an action that is happening around the time of speaking, not in the moment that you talk. Example, this semester, I am taking a virtual english class.

You need three elements:

Subject ( I, you, she, he, it, we, you, they)

Verb be ( am, is, are)

Verb(regular or irregular)+ ing

She is eating a lot of chocolate.

When you are using this tense, you

describe what it is happening in this moment.

Think about this situation: What are you doing in this moment?

you are learning. You are studying You are reading. You are thinking.

What is this boy doing?

He is playing football.

What are they doing?

They are studying.
